And what do I see mounted on the ceiling in the living room, but a video camera!  And it wasn't concealed at all.  It was mounted in one of the red globes like you see with some external camera mounts.  I laughed out loud in the landlord's face

I find this difficult to believe ..... why on earth would they have a camera ?  and in full view  ?

are you sure it wasn't something else maybe ...   ?

    you mean like this  ;

actually most deposits are at least two or three months rental ?  i will not bite as this seems like a wind up?

wrong ,  I rented a good place near Asoke for 10+ yrs and the deposit was 1 month.

Cleaned the place before i left and deposit back in full ... no questions asked.

I think it can be a bit of hit & miss with rentals,  some landlords are fine, some are problem.

so it's not a wind up.

sorry, just to add .....  the place i rent now is only 1 month deposit.

    Absolute nonsense

so this is incorrect then .....   lol ....  could have fooled me.  !

Under section 142ZZC of the Liquor Act, a licensee or permit holder is prohibited from advertising, or allowing anyone to advertise, a range of matters, including free liquor, discounted liquor or the sale price of liquor for consumption on premises (restaurants excepted).

Thailand hasn't outsmarted the disease. It is trying to out wait a virus that isn't going away. It could get ugly when forced to reopen and nobody has any antibodies.

you mention some good points, and I think with the way things are going it could be months before they open any border to general public. It's really hit Australia now and they are looking to act with more stringent measures.  This is just an absolute financial catastrophe that has affected billions of people and it's not going to be an easy fix.  It is paramount that a vaccine is produced and work effectively. That's the only way economies and the markets will find slate rock footing again instead of mud and slosh.   imo

I am not on about happy hours I am on about you can't have glasses with the names of alcohol ,menus with beer names on and the best one if you are asked to recommend a drink  I. e wine waiter you can't. Is that not over the top or what.

agree ... it's a bit overboard. silly rule.

I was referring to laws in Australia where the pub cannot advertise happy hour or discount drinks etc ....  cheers ...lol

That's how you treat children !

If you want to be treated like a small child, which is obviously appropriate according to your posts in this forum, then it's fine.

Let the adults have their alcohol if they want to - they are old enough to decide for themselves !

and the reasons are because it only takes some drunken idiot to one punch someone or cause a death somehow and then laws get put in place that affect the common sense folks.

There is no accountability anymore .... no self responsibility .....

oh I was drunk ....  or oh i was on drugs or whatever.    just saying ..

No problem with the no smoking. Totally agree. In the Aus and the UK they allow competition and the stupid ban on advertising here is worse than living in Muslim country.

Happy hours and drink promotions. Drink promotions and happy hours may contribute to excessive and rapid consumption of alcohol if not adequately controlled. ... You cannot advertise happy hours outside your premises.Jul 11, 2019

Right now she is staying in a condo in BKK which is something she really doesn't want to do. I've never known her to like BKK. She is having cocktails in Sukhumvit and what not but I thought Issan girls loathe BKK and if they could not be there they would?

Every Issan person I know hates BKK.

Tbh she hasn't even mentioned the word "divorce".

    aha .....

the thing is you have to look at this from a practical perspective ....  no feelings ... no angry ...

    your options are limited.

You need to divorce to move on with life ?  if so ... discuss with her .... get out ... pay minimal amount or what she is entitled to.

as I said, sit down discuss ....  no additional money  ... your out .....

    send money for kids

you want to see kids whenever .

    say bye bye ....

  10. You can't live in a house in Issan.

She won't live in a condo in BKK

    She wants a divorce

Your situation is unacceptable for you and as such you really only have the divorce option.

Discuss the divorce option with her but tell her you are not parting with any cash.

Tell her you want to give child support and you wish to see the kids whenever you want.

At least this way you can move on with your life as now that's impossible.
