I think you still get if under 35 years but on a pro rata basis. A shithole? I rate it as The best country on the planet
ok ..... I think you maybe correct on the pro rata basis ..... so every year under 35 the entitled rate would go down. I just think that two years is way too long to give up family & friends and an established life here in Thailand, and Australia is expensive .... try renting a 2 bedroom apartment or a house anywhere. Maybe a hotel, but two years in a hotel room ??? no thanks.

Sounds like someone hasn't actually looked before speaking.
I've looked, extensively. The hotels I saw offering monthly rates all required deposit.
I've stayed in several hotels in Bangkok on a monthly basis ... and never had to pay a deposit.
Correct in that your room may not be cleaned daily and most likely once a week, and obviously won't include any breakfast. But every hotel is different so hence one has to speak directly with the manager and work out the best deal.

another loser drug taker.

I know this has been discussed many times. There is absolutely no way in hell I would go back and spend 2 years of my life in a shit hole just to be eligible to apply for the OAP.
No guarantee of approval as I believe one has had to have been in Australia or worked in Australia 35 years minimum.

It's starting to heat up in the kitchen.
Politicians with "special" connections are refusing to join Prayuth's coalition unless Prawit is shown the door and now Prayuth is taking pot shots at the also well connected army chief Apirat.
Self destruct in 5....4....3....2.....
What nonsense ..... but would make for a good movie.

Another government official speaking the usual BS. What else is he going to say. Most politicians just blabber out what anyone would consider being a common sense approach anyway.
It's the same as saying .. if you travel overseas, be careful, read the manual.

Stay away from Kaspersky AV, the one that comes bundled free with Asus MB's. I tried it on Win 10 and hated it - But then came the fun, trying to uninstall it! It took 3 weeks with daily support from Kaspersky. Asus had rewritten some of the code. In the end I had Kaspersky sending me special self extracting and self running software to try to clean it, editing the registry and in the end they did a remote takeover of my pc, 1 year on and I am still finding traces of the damn thing when I run certain apps, it is still lurking in some deep down directories. Bloody thing was worse than the virus's it was supposed to prevent.
I have used AVG and it was about 75%, the Windows defender software is as good as anything these days.
would you be interested in trying Kaspersky version2 ....

Yep, Thailand is in for some rough time's ahead IMO on the tourist front.
farang have been saying that for the past twenty years ..... but Thailand keeps going ahead.
One only has to look at the amount of infrustructure being built in Bangkok, North-east and in the south .. to realize your comment is false.
Tourist numbers may go up and down from month to month but it's undeniable that tourists just keep coming.

Parents prepare for new school term

This is a couple of years ago, but I would think it's still the case ....
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has invoked Section 44 of the interim constitution to extend free education from 12 to 15 years.
FEES, TEXTBOOKS & UNIFORMS INCLUDED
The Education Ministry and related government agencies responsible for providing education and ensuring the quality of the 15-year free system are required to present budget proposals to the government for its annual expenditure planning.
The funding of free education includes tuition fees, textbooks, educational equipment, uniforms, activities for developing learning skills, and other expenses approved by the cabinet.
