for all those knuckleheads who complain and don't think COVID-19 exists :
Victoria to bring in the army ....
They call it "ring fencing". That's what is happening in Victoria.
Almost literally you build a wall around a suburb, a series of buildings, or a city and declare that nobody can come in or out. If they do, they face armed police and prosecution.
In parts of China they have used it several times during this pandemic and during earlier similar health crises.
Remember back a few months, which isn't easy, because much has happened. But remember the film from China of people walking down the street, to be pounced on with a huge net wielded by the anti-virus police?
Remember those stories of people being locked in their buildings, doors welded shut? They relied on the government to feed and care for them because they had no option.
Couldn't happen here, we said. Couldn't happen in a democracy. Well, something very similar is happening in Victoria, and God only knows where it will finish.
The government has taken its suburban lockdown another step. Nine of the city's biggest housing commission towers have been quarantined for at least five days, possibly 14.
This ring fencing strategy may be necessary. Within days of the problem being identified there were 30 COVID-19 cases within the towers. Residents live close together, they mix widely. Some are cab drivers potentially taking the virus into the community.
Which means this time, Daniel Andrews must call in the Australian Defence Force. He needs guards. They know how to guard. He needs medical capability. They have doctors and nurses. He needs catering. They have chefs used to preparing mass meals, and equipment designed for mass preparation of food.
He needs Victorian police to be freed from the non-policing work so they can concentrate on law and order.
It is as obvious as it is simple. Daniel Andrews needs the military and must call them in. If he doesn't he risks heath and enforcement problems too ugly to contemplate.
Unlike the other states perhaps he has some basic ideological reason not to use the defence forces, who knows?
But whatever the reason, he must overcome his absurd prejudice. He must bring the army in to help. Now.

There were no alcohol bans for Buddhist holidays or at least they were never enforced 12 or more years ago.
I have to disagree ..... the sale of alcohol on Buddha's holidays has been around for as long as i can remember. I've lived here 25+ yrs and i'm sure it was always the case. Unless i'm mistaken ...
however, if what you say is correct then i apoligise.

the women were hit by a speeding car that drove past other stopped vehicles into a crowd demonstrating on an interstate highway, police said. A video of the Seattle incident shared on social media shows a lone white car speeding up Interstate-5, swerving to avoid a van that was parked to block the roadway and heading toward a small group of panicked protesters
They should not have been on the highway in the first place. correct ?
If they abided by the law it would not have happen. It's their own stupid fault.

But as seen many times before they throw the baby out with the bathwater.so then they ask an older friend to order it for them and they just pay him ? as they do in advanced countries.

I don't believe that 7/11 doesn't have a clue about the alcohol bans. The reason for the confusion is that some government officials first claimed that July 4 and 5 would be the days when alcohol was banned, then yesterday morning they went public again and said that July 5 and 6 were the days. That's what every banks calendar also says. Don't blame stores when government officials don't know about official Buddhist days in Thailand.
wrong answer .... pls read the post below yours .... and i went to two different 7-11's yesterday and neither were sure what day they were permitted to sell ... both said they would contact their office to confirm.

frankly i'm astounded, i'm fascinated how so many TV members can simply ascertain and evaluate one's intellectual capabilities and vocabulary attributes when they haven't even met the man.
so many highly knowledgeable intelligent TV members just wasting their talent away ......
you couldn't not make this stuff up if you tried ......

One minute they’re saying how well they’ve done and with no new local infections blah, blah, blah, the next they’re saying it could spread. How can something spread from nothing? Either it’s here or it isn’t. I wish the dithering would stop. It’s getting ridiculous now.
you are part correct, however look at Victoria and other places where they recorded zero infections for short time and then a spike in the numbers suddenly presented itself. I don't think thailand ever said it had nothing to spread as you inferred, although their were zero cases reported for a number of days.
Hence the warning from the CCSA.

Do you have any examples?
In this video where he talks about his admiration of the CCP and their Belt & Road Initiative, he starts off with some basic English and then speaks Thai. You'd think someone with his educational background could string a few sentences of English together. Not just, "Yes. Thank you very much. Glad to see you".
Here's an example:
i'm not going down your road .... thanks anyway.

Unless, of course, these kind of positions are just ceremonial and meaningless. If that's the case, god forbid this country ever has to go to war with foreign enemies.
he can speak some english ....

Deposit when renting
in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
Posted
I think it's a bit of hit & miss ... I rented same place for 10+ yrs and when i left, no questions asked, full deposit back straight away. I did keep the place reasonable tidy and broke nothing .... hence the owners knew who were good tenants and they knew the one's who don't care about other peoples property.
It's just about being a sensible person and good communication with the owner.
