  1. Any idea guys? Would be grateful if someone could find it for me. Willing to pay money to someone who can read and speak Thai to search for products like this in Thailand.

I am not looking for mosquito net screens. They are too thin and will be torn apart by my pets in no time.

  2. I live in the Chatuchak area. I found a Lat Phrao post office (opposite Carrefour Lat Phrao) near my place.

I was looking for my missing parcel and I was told to go to the Chatuchak office instead. Any idea where that is?

  3. Hehe...

I shipped 7 boxes from Singapore to Thailand and wrote English on the boxes.

6 out of the boxes arrived without any problems. 1 of them got lost. It seems like the last box is in Thailand but for some strange reason, it isn't being delivered to my address. I did a trace for the item on the post office's web site and it returned something to me in Thai, which I cannot read. Gotta get my Thai friend to read it for me. I hope I can get my stuff back but if I can't I don't care cos it isn't very valuable.

  4. Any idea where to get pet window screens for sliding windows and top-hinged windows in Bangkok?

    Something like this:

    http://www.exclusivescreens.co.uk/prodpage.asp?ProdID=320

    http://www.exclusivescreens.co.uk/prodpage.asp?ProdID=267

    http://www.petscreenkit.com/

    http://hardware.hardwarestore.com/72-156-a...ow-screens.aspx

I tried to get velcro from a hardware store and stick a piece of plastic mesh over it but it isn't sturdy enough. Too bad my apartment does not have window grilles because it would have been easier to attach the plastic mesh over the window grilles.

  6. I have been a vegetarian for 5 years +. My friends say I still look like a teenager. My mum says I have better skin than a lot of ladies.

Coming from a multi-cultural place like Singapore, we often have Muslim friends and Indian friends who have their own dietary restrictions too - Muslims do not eat pork while Hindu Indians do not eat beef. Some Chinese people refrain from eating beef for some reason too. I don't think it is a big deal to accommodate each other's dietary needs.

I know a few people who have told me it is troublesome eating with me because they have to be consider my dietary needs. I have a friend who told me he has a friend who quit being vegetarian because he was "stressing" his friends and it was affecting his social life. Although I know I am "stressing" my non-veggie friends, I know it is only a minor inconvenience and it should not be a big problem for them because I am very flexible when I am at a non-veggie restaurant. I almost always find a way to customize certain orders for my own needs.

  7. The Banana Family Park, in between Soi 1 and Phahonyothin near the Tesco Express, is vegetarian only. It also houses the Ban Ari, Buddhist library. Pretty easy to find, but you actually have to go inside to see the restaurants.

I think I passed by this area today. I saw a huge vegetarian sign. I walked in to take a look but didn't see anything. I think they close at 3 PM.

  8. I am planning to get a good brand name cat food for my cats. Any idea where to buy them from? The supermarkets carry Whiskies, Purina Friskies and Big-O?

Whiskies is a big no no for me. My oldest male cat almost died from an urinary tract disorder after my sister fed him loads of those sticky and fatty food.

I bought a pack of Friskies as a stop gap replacement till I get a better brand. I used to give my cats Science Diet. However, I am re-considering my usual choice because my friend feeds her cats another brand of cat food and her cats have the softest fur ever!

  9. The best way - ThePirateBay.org

Have you ever heard about Torrent and P2P?

If like he said they take forever to download then he is probably not

    on ADSL(broadband)

With ADSL popular movies can be downloaded in a matter of as short as an hour

    sometimes...

I've got broadband but I am not into P2P. I prefer to watch DVDs on a DVD player and LCD TV.

I will check out Central Lad Phrao's basement. Thanks.

  10. I would like to know if there are any good DVD movie rental shops in Bangkok? Preferably in the Jattujak region.

I am not a fan of downloading movies because they take forever to download. I do not like to purchase fake DVDs because I do not wish to clutter up my home with DVDs that I will only watch once.

  11. I got ripped off at the customs yesterday. I cleared the AQS office and paid 100 THB per cat. I was issued a receipt which I presented to the bastards at the "Goods to Declare" exit. The officers demanded 1000 THB per cat. I argued that I had already paid the 100 THB tax and duties. They threatened to lock up my cat at some office and no food and water will be provided. I also demanded to see the rule that says 1000 thb per cat duties and they pointed me to a dumb poster that was very vague. I decided to just settle it by giving them the money they want. They issued me a receipt in Thai. Terrible experience for me but I know it could have been worse.

  12. As you probably already know KU is 50 mtrs pool. They didn't ask me for any medical cert. a bonus it the canteen next door the food is very good and cheap, food hall style. 50 Baht per session. They have memberships which you may be able to get at slightly more than the published price if not Thai. The only problem is the traffic from Central to Rajayothin, often not moving.

Cool! I think I will be cycling there from my apartment.

I have never been to KU, any idea where the pool is? Any particular entrance?

  13. Want to try the klongs. Even Bangkok govenor candidate took a dip. Check out this video.

    www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEAlpaLQYCM

That was funny. I could understand a bit of what she was yelling... Chuay Duay (Help)! Men (Stinks)! Men! Men Mark (Stinks a lot)!

I do not think she fell into the klong because it looks deliberate to me... I won't be swimming there for sure!
