Reading through this thread about how dfferent Amphurs/Tessabans require differing documents for the application of a yellow Tabian Ban made me wonder, what are the LEGAL requirements set out by the governing body (government dept) for the issuance of said yellow book? I am presuming that there are such legal requirements and that each Amphur/Tessaban adds their own extra requirements to it! - Legal government requirements anyone?

    I think this is it:

Thai Civil Registration Act 2551 [2008]

Section 21. Section 38 of the Civil Registration Act B.E. 2534 shall be repealed and replaced by the following:

Section 38. The district or local registrar shall issue a household registration for persons without Thai nationality having been permitted to stay temporarily and those having been giving leniency for temporary residence in the Thai Kingdom as a special case in accordance with law on immigration and the declaration of the Cabinet and their children born within the Thai Kingdom. In a case of permission of temporary residence overdue, the registrar shall immediately dispose of such persons.

The Director of Central Registration shall make profile registration for persons without Thai nationality besides those under paragraph one in accordance with the declaration of the Cabinet.

Registrations under paragraph one and two shall lie in the manner prescribed in the regulations under the discretion of the Director of Central Registration.”

If you know it, tell me which law applies. Until you do I will just have to assume that you made it up.

Why shouldn't they? There's no law against it.
An obvious reason to use a foreign licence to rent with is because that way one avoids the irritating DVLA online code requirement, as I mentioned. Another reason could be that the address on the UK licence doesn't match the address of the credit card being used. Rental companies check that sort of thing.

I remember looking at this a couple of years ago.

According to the DVLA, it is illegal to drive in the UK with a foreign licence if you are disqualified from driving with a UK licence. You are libel to arrest.

    how was the refund handled?

    Lazada wallet.

    Thanks.

I take it if I don't have one, I'd need to apply for one in the case of a COD refund then?

Is it straightforward to apply? I take it the Lazada wallet will enable them to give you credit for another purchase, but not allow a refund somehow?

^^^ Every deliver guy seems to have a smartphone so if you live in the boonies send them a text of your GPS coordinates after get off the phone with them...

I give my wife's phone number, making it easier to explain to the driver where we live.

I also added our GPS location to the address, but for some reason that line doesn't seem to get printed on the package.

For those that have returned goods (via 7-11) if anyone paid COD, how was the refund handled?

  5. I was always under the impression that an 'outlet store' was run by the manufacturer of the items, apparently selling them cheaper than in the usual retail shops?

To quote wiki: "An outlet store or factory outlet is a brick and mortar or online store in which manufacturers sell their stock directly to the public"

However, it does go on to say:

"At factory outlets, the products sold are from one brand only. Manufacturers who sell only their own products at a reduced price run factory outlets. On the other hand, retailers run outlet stores, and various brands are sold there."

I ask because I see that Central are talking about opening an outlet store in Bangkok. What's there difference between selling them at an outlet store and selling them in Central Festival for example?

Or have I missed something obvious?

Are you really allowed in the UK to hold 2 passports at the very same time?? 2 SAME passports??? or is one of them a fraud or a fake??

    glegolo

Yes, I'm a Brit and have had two concurrent passports. As long as there's a valid reason, it's fine for us.

My reason was  applying for a lot a visas at the same time, for a journey covering many countries.

Also, if you have an Israeli stamp in your passport, you are often refused entry to many other Arab countries, a second passport skirts that issue.

    Best to just have it...

At the DLT front desk I was told I didn’t  need a medical cert.

At the counter they wanted one. Luckily I’d come prepared so didn’t have to make two trips to the DLT via a clinic...

    Normal sort of day really...

You mixing up the two options. For the income option you only need show 65k baht in the bank every month there is no need for it to be 800k baht. For a year of transfers it would need to total 780k baht or more.

You only need 800k baht in a Thai bank for that option to apply for the extension.

OK. Ignoring the 800K Baht lump sum in an account, but sticking with the monthly transfers:

Am I mixing up who is allowed to verify regular transfers into the account?

So just to confirm: It's not acceptable for a Thai bank to verify to immigration by showing/confirming each monthly transaction from abroad, even though the amount is sufficient?

    Is that correct?

As of today it would not be accepted unless it was back up proof for the required income proof from an embassy or consulate.

If it was accepted it would be a minimum of 65k baht unless using the combination of money in the bank and it.

    UJ,

I understand completely about embassies and this latest proof of income issue, as I'm under the impression that nothing is verified on a per-applicant basis.

I don't follow why it's not accepted by immigration that a Thai bank could (I assume?) provide proof of the cash coming from abroad regularly, on a transaction-by-transaction basis? They accept 800K Baht balance in the account.

Or have I missed something obvious here?
