I use the travel insaurance advertised with thai visa website, they cover all insaurances, ask & you will find out A A insaurance brokers, alot cheaper than arranging travel insaurance in australia.

I just spent 4 days in nong khai, enjoyable met a few knowagable x-pats in the pool @ royal mekong hotel, agood bar I found was the peck bar a couple of reasonable sorts work from there,cold beers,alas I had comitments in pattaya and had to cut my visit short,but I will return regards songkhlasid.

Planning a 4 day trip to nong khai, looks nice for a couple of days, maybe st ay @ mutmee guest house, looks good & great location,any nitelife?,Is 4 days too long, maybe 2 nites udon thani? any feedback welcome

stayed at tipchang -lampang a couple of times with the young bloke, chose this hotel because of swim pool, which was green the 2 time. One of those places that is in a state of slow decay or min. of maintainence, besides that was o.k. central to town & river.

might have been the 3 fuc_kers I come across @ the thai lady hamburger shop on soi7 last month, fully aggressive because I wanted a seat to eat my burger, when they were just using up room, a month in thailand no problem, untill that nite, I decided on a take-away,I told friends later they said most probably russian, I have never witnessed such bad attitude. regards bungalowbill.

Have just spent a week on koh lee-pae,excellent like patong beach 30 yrs ago,good snorkelling, excellent seafood, varin resort was good, try darya bungalows on beach 700baht, but not advertised,layback relax place ,families welcome. I will return

I built a house last year for retirement in 5 years time, my wife of 19 years, we are same age, in her village ,east of chiang-mai,I approached same subject with her, as we have a 11 year old son, Understand I've been visiting village for 20 years,my wife has drafted a letter to be opened on her demise, that myself & son can live as we like, witness by village headman , best friend, & registered @ police station,her parents are deceased, only 1 living brother,I still have house in australia,& plan to live between the 2 , depending on seasons. I only hope all goes to plan if unfortunately that situation happens.

You will like songkhla, It is cheap, quiet, friendly, good walkways, cycleways. As for pool, gym you can join the fitness club @ B.P. Samila hotel.There are units/condos for rent and I say there a lot cheaper than jontiem, or long stay @ cheaper hotels. hope this is of help.

Can anyone enlighten me, as to what weekend the elaphant roundup is on this year,Or is it worth the hassle?, Will be in country nov 22-dec 23, best way to travel from bang'ers.
