  1. As previosly posted by us,we have just had our 6 weekly appointment at Dr Morgans clinic and both myself and my wife have had our tablets reduced as our blood pressures and cholestrol have both reduced drastically.Due to Dr Morgan and her treatment and the advice that she as given us over the 18 months that she as been treating us. She is a genuine caring doctor (which is very hard to find in the UK) my comments seem to be mirrored by all who use her practice, before anyone decides to post we have no connection with the practice other than being very satisfied patients.

I suffer from Ulcrative Colitis and need a new doctor as my regular has moved to Bangkok.

This Doctor seems very competant from what I have read here

Do you need an appointment for a consultation that is not a full medical?

    Do they dispense drugs?

    Thanks

If you phone and speak to Dr Morgan, she will arrange for you to go to the clinic.yes we get our tablets from her on each visit.(I have no connection with the practice other than being a satisfied patient).

  3. Something like halfway between Airport Plaza shopping center and the Airport almost right across the street from the Petrol Station.

Interesting to see an American use the word 'petrol'. I was under the impression that gas or gasoline was the common term. Do you use it for the benefit of other TV users or am I wrong in thinking that Americans don't use it?

I seem to have lost my English language after a few years in Thailand and even I (a Brit) now use 'gasoline station' Shame on me really!

    Regards Bojo

Does it really matter what you call it ,Petrol ,Gas or Gasoline .We all know what it is.

  4. Hello,

I'm coming for the first time in thailand, and due to the favourite change, I would like to buy something to bring home.

What is really cheaper and worth to buy in Thailand? a new mobile phone? I would like to have one with a touch screen.... but here in Europe they are EXPENSIVE

I will spend my first night in chiang mai and I'll visit the night bazaar, any advice?

Plus anyone know where to find the Twins shop in chiang mai?

Is there any kind of yellow pages for chiang mai?

    thank you

Only pay what you are happy to ,reduce the price offered by about 40% .

mobile phones here cost more than in uk if you are from their.

Most goods in the night bazaar are of good quality.

  5. Had a registered letter in the mail yesterday from TT&T proudly proclaiming that they were amalgamating with xyz Co. Ltd. and that services would improve as a result of this, and could I please complete and return the enclosed new contract application form.

Obviously I have not had a chance to go and see them yet, but why a new contract? They claim in the letter (all in Thai with no consideration to a translation) that it's because of a company name change :) TT&T working at it's best :D

    Comments......

Does anyone know the office address in Chiang mai ?...

  6. Try advertising in the ThaiVisa classifieds, where these ads belong, rather than in the forums.

Why does it bother you if someone offers their house at reasonable rent to forum members first?

Will you lose sleep over it, has in really inconvenienced you that much?

Why not just click on and then off rather than bother wasting your time writing?

Well said is it such a crime,as stsed you do not have to read it.

  7. I read the dying at home topic on probably the first time I found the chiang mai forum, I found it informative and useful. But 2-3 months on its a little disconcerting having it pinned at the very top of the forum all the time. Anyone else of the same opinion?

Maybe we can unpin it but provide a link in the Chiang Mai information section?

I think its probably reasonable that a user has to do a search on a hopefully remote topic like dying? (Especially seeing that all the current users definately know there is a thread about it already.)

It should be left as it very important and useful.no harm leaving it their.

  8. Where is Camedara please?

I assume you mean Comedara. If you go east over the Nakhonping Bridge and turn right at the intersection with traffic lights, you will find it on the right side of the road about fifty or sixty meters from the intersection.

    Its obvious what UG meant

  9. Came to Chiang Mai in mid-November to live as retiree. Stayed at the Viangbua Mansion while looking for long term place to live. While here in 2006, saw a building across the street undergoing renovation and was completed on this visit. The name of the place is Spirit House. It is run by an American named Steve along with his Thai partner. The atmosphere is laid back with classical music playing and a large number of Thai antiques on display. The menu is handwritten on a spiral notebook and consists of both Thai and Western food. Steve comes by and discusses what is on the menu and any special requirements you might have. He has parking in back of the place. Prices are very reasonable.

If possible a few more directions to the Spirit House resturant please.

  10. id just suggest that you are a sad old fart. But you could see it coming when you started to lose your hair .Photoshop has a lot answer for and they are all photoshopped. Ive had them analysed, Grow up ian. get over the fact youre not here. And stop it generally youre far too old for this kind of shit.

UG I want to see pics of you with your "friends" Have u got any? Those poor poor people.

I've certainly got many more friends than you do, but that is a given.

I've got enough friends that I don't have to get drunk and hide behind a computer taking cheap shots at nice people like Ian Forbes to make me feel better about being such a miserable git.

All of that joy in life really grates on you, doesn't it?

Well said UG, Sagaris no need for comments like that i think you are the sad person here.

  11. Shepherd's pie

    Liver bacon & onions

    Cornish pasties

    Sausage rolls With puff pastry

    Steak and Kidney pies

    Scotch eggs

all available in my kitchen but as much as i would like to share i don't own a restaurant

Oh i would really like to make Beef stew and Dumplings but i never seen the Suet about so if any body knows where to buy i am all ears.

Toad in the Hole is an other treat but you really need an electric oven to generate the heat needed to get the batter to rise.

I am sure Mr Mad Dog could make any of these for an addition to his menu. his Breakfasts are superb.

All the above really bad for you full of saturated fats ,bad cholestrol that is what is wrong with our UK food

  12. You mean Klaimor??

They are different. On opposite side of road, about 1 km away from Klaimor towards Hang Dong. Coincidentally the Doctor used to work at Klaimor.

Maybe you know if that doctor left because he found out that Klaimor is the biggest cheat in town? (Call themselves a hospital but it is no more than a first aid post with ridiculous prices for farang)

Your views which you are entitled to unless some one objects to your comments.

  13. Does the new clinic have a name? Even a photo, perhaps?

    Thanks for the info.

  14. I came across a new medical clinic recently. This is run by Dr Nisachon Morgan. It is located on Hang Dong Road, 400m from Tesco Lotus on the opposite side, direction Hang Dong. Full praise - the Doctor has an outstanding command of English, is thoughtful, has a friendly manner, is a good listener and overall inspires confidence. Does annual medical at half the price of Ram IV with all the same tests. Just means for some of the tests being driven to a bigger clinic with all the equipment. These are done promptly and efficiently - less than half day for all the tests followed by full analysis and discussion a day or two later. My wife and I are very pleased with the service. Could be a good option for those living this side of city with general practitioner type needs. Telephone is 053 804405.

Yes we agree,we have nothing but praise for Dr Morgan she is one of the best doctors the my wife and myself have been treated by including the UK.She is very proffesional and thorough,i would recommend her practice to anyone. You will get nothing but first class treatment from her.

  15. Rice Bran Oil. Not quite as cheap as the cheap stuff, but a lot cheaper than imported olive oil, etc.

    Makro has it.

Rice and Bran is supposed to be the best type of oil to use ?,any comments

  16. 5, 6 and 7 are attached to each other. They're between the Hang Dong road and the Canal Road, South of town, south of the Middle Ring road.

7 is closest to the Canal Road, so you drive down the Canal Road, past the intersection with the Middle Ring, then past the Mae Hia market on the left, and then it's on your left hand side just after the first bend after the market.

This is the correct directions to 7 as you drive through the estate it goes to 6 then 5 and out on to Hang Dong road.

  17. I think that you are talking about new book stores that have multiple copies of everything in the stockroom that are easy to find. Used book stores often have only one copy of very popular titles and many places do not have them on computer at all. Also, we often stack books on the front of the shelves to fit as many as possible, so it is difficult to tell when someone dumps a bunch in the wrong place.

Our main store consists of 4 shop-fronts packed full of books (including the Annex on the other side of the street). It may seem "small" to you, but there are a lot of titles to keep track of.

i accept what you say and yes i was comparing to new book shops which i accept do have multiple books in store.

  18. Actually, the search function on the Gecko website is not supposed to be working right now. The fellow who is putting it together had to return home for a few months.

We do have a big problem with being able to keep the data base current as many customers collect books from all over the store and then make a decision on one book before they go and just stick the rest on the shelves whereever they happen to be standing. It makes it hard to find them even when we know that they are in the store.

Staff need to be trained in the art of putting books in the correct position on the shelves. Also in my expeience anyone who leaves books on shelves will leave them piled up at the front not pushed into the row on the shelf.

As geco books is a small book shop it should not be that hard to keep track of the books that you have.Just look at the massive book stores in the USA they can usually find any book in store within a few minutes.
