Hi hhfarang, Thanks for the very informative post I will see if I can find a phone number for them and give them a ring.
The generic I take now seems to be fine as have been taking it for 3 years... so happy to stay with that rather than going back to the Ramapril original.
I usually buy a box of 100 tablets which is good for just over three months so if they are cheaper one trip to Bkk to buy a years supply would be well worth it... and as you say it is nice to get out of HH once in a while!
Will post here the outcome of my phone call with South East Pharmacy.
MickA... Thanks for your post as well, have tried Facinos and even with our discount card they are more expensive than the pharmacy near the shopping mall, but many other products in there do work out cheaper than Boots, which is good.
Thanks again to you both

I have put this in the Hua Hin forum as opposed to the medical section as I am looking for blood pressure meds in Hua Hin.
When I lived in the UK I was taking Ramapril 10 mgs daily but since moving here I have been buying a generic called Ramtace from a pharmacy near the shopping mall in town, however every time I go in there to buy my tablets the price has gone up by 90 to 100 baht, i know its not much but if anyone knows where else I can get it and at what price, I believe there are also other generic brands available so price of alternatives would be great.
Thanks very much.

Can anyone tell me how much the government water is per cubic metre... we are on a gated community and are being charged 20 baht per cubic metre which seems very expensive!... and they now want to increase it to 25 baht!!!

Morden.... Just to clarify things the userfruct was registered at the land office and not the Tessaban, sorry my mistake in the op.
Does that make any difference?.
And at present no business is being carried out at the house by my wife.... and certainly not me.It was just an idea my wife had to work from home.
Thanks

Thanks guys for all your advice and comments please keep them coming, I think we might need to consult a reputable lawyer soon, provided we can find a good one here in Hua Hin!
I don't really want to take off the userfruct but if it that is what it takes then that might be our best option.... and pay the 9,000 baht for this years tax and have the earlier years wiped off!..... or is this a scam and the 9,000 baht goes in the ladies pocket.... and there never was any earlier years to worry about....
Keep the advice coming, and thank again to everyone who have made helpful comments.

Hi
I am hoping some of the forum members here with userfructs can offer a comment or advice on something that has just been told to my wife when she went to our local Tessaban.
Our house and land are owned by my wife with a chanote and we added on a userfruct agreement about 4 years ago and got it noted etc with the local land office, no problem, but the Tessaban are now saying that because we have a userfruct for the farang living in the house its similar to if a farang owned the house using a limited company and so we are liable to pay 9,000 baht tax every year the same as people with limited companies, and they will back date it from the date of the userfruct!
Something else the lady said to my wife was that if she came to the office early she would only have to pay the current years tax and she would write off the earlier years..... does this sound a bit of a scam to you guys as well?
I would be grateful for any advice and info other members who know about userfructs could give us and if this is just a scam or have they recently change the law!
Thanks guys

Same here we have used the vet hospital on the canal road as well, never had any problems and staff always polite.

Just to confirm TallGuyJohninBKK, Lopburi is correct the date on my retirement extension is 12 January 2013.
Thanks to everyone who gave helpful advice.

Sorry guys to be a bit thick on this subject, what I have is a retirement-based annual EXTENSION OF STAY issued here inside Thailand at Hua Hin immigration and the stamp in my passport states that I am permitted to stay in Thailand up to 12/1/2013.
So re-reading the replies again means I can re-apply up to 1 month before that date for a further annual extension.
Hope I now understand things correctly.
Thanks again for everyones help and advice, especially NancyL and Tall GuyJohninBKK.

My current retirement visa states in my passport that I am permitted to stay in Thailand up to 12/1/2013. So if I understand the replies I will have to re-apply for another 1 year extension on or up to one month before the 12/1/2013, along with the proof of 800,000 baht etc.. etc..
Thanks everyone for your help.....from a novice old pensioner.....

Sorry to drag up the retirement visa saga again but I would like a bit of advice on when can I re-apply for my one year visa based on retirement.
My current retirement visa states in my passport that I am permitted to stay in Thailand up to 12/1/2013.
My next 90 day reporting to our local immigration office in Hua Hin is due on the 3/9/2012, which will give me a further 90 days, taking me up to about 3/12/2012,
I will then go back to immigration on that day, to get another 90 days taking me up to 3/3/2013...... is my thinking correct here?
And will I need to apply for a new extension based on retirement on that date (3/3/2013), the 800,000 baht requirement is already in place now so no worries about that.
Any advice from fellow retires would be welcome, especially if you use Hua Hin Immigration as well.
Thanks very much

I too would be interested in the cost of the kit home posted above.

So if we took a sample of our water to GDL they could test it for us?
Any idea about costs involved in buying stabilizer/conditioner.... as our pool is a lot smaller than yours we would need a lot less than the 2.5 kilos you put in your pool.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the advice, I will try to find a pool shop in Hua Hin that sells stabilizer/conditioner.
How do I test how much if any is in the pool already? can you buy test strips for this.
Keep those replies coming.
Regards

Sorry guys.... given wrong info, the pool is about 33,000 litres and as Naam stated yes it is a salt water Chlorinator, so we do have to run the pump for about 6 or 7 hours, but what I want to know is what is the best time of day to have the pump running. Some people say you should have it running during sunlight hours while others have said run it late afternoon when the sun has gone down.
So any advice on what other people are doing who have a similar salt water Chlorinator would be most welcome.
-
I would like some advice on the best times of day to run our pool pump, as I have been getting a lot of conflicting advice!
We currently run it for 6 hours a day: 8am to 11am and then 5pm to 8pm.
Its a salt water pool with a capacity of about 10,000 litres.
Any advice would be welcome from the pool experts out there.

Hi Oksana,
We will contact you next week as we are away in Bangkok at the moment.... at a Thai table tennis competition.
We have a table at home where we play, but the nearest club of any standard is up in Petchaburi! about 1 hours drive away.
Be good have a good knock with someone local.

Thanks for the info but we have tried contacting TRS directly and they gave us a pool supplier in HH who they sell the pool salt too but when we called the shop they said they only have the refined salt and will not be ordering any more until the 6 tons they have in stock is nearly all gone! not a lot of use to us!!!
So if any one knows where we can buy this pool salt in the local HH or Cha am area please let us know.
Thanks again.
-
Still trying to find a local supplier of TRS Pool Salt, have tried many pool shops in Hua Hin and all say they can not obtain it which is rather odd as it is a very good product and only slightly more expensive than the ordinary refined TRS salt.
Would like 12 bags and don't mind trying slightly further afield if any one can tell me where I can get it?
Thanks

Does any one know where we can buy TRS Pool Salt in Hua Hin or surrounding area?
We have tried many of the pool shops in HH and they all say they are unable to get it!
There must be someone in the area that sells it!
We would require about 12 bags.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for everyone's replies, we have seen the house advertised for 7.9 million with 12 rai which is a nice property but too far away from Mukdahan (Nong Sung).
We still have to sell our current property in Hua Hin at the moment.
Thanks
