  1. Does anyone know of any dog friendly hotels in BKK that are around the 1,500 baht price. Or any cheap monthly rental apartments, for under 10,000 baht per month.

Our dog is small and is pretty well behaved!

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

  2. Does anyone know of hotels that are dog friendly? we have a small dog who travels with us and we are looking for a reasonably cheap hotel or apartment to rent.

We have seen several apartments on line for about 3,000 to 4,000 baht per month but not sure what they are actually like in terms of facilities etc.

Any suggestions and advice would be most welcome.

    Thanks

  3. Thanks to every one who replied we have made a note of the other vets places which have been suggested....... our little puppy is a lot better today and is no longer licking her backside!!! she may well have had worms and the worming liquid she was given a few days ago has taken effect.

  4. Thanks for your replies, we will give both a ring and ask for advice, she seems a bit better today but still licking and scratching her backside and base of her tail, no sign of any flees etc.....

Perhaps TTM your right the worming dose may well have been too strong, she has started to eat a bit this morning as well which is a good sign.

    Will keep you posted.

    Thanks very much

  5. Can anyone recommend a good vet in Hua Hin for our two month old Shih Tzu puppy who since going to one vets has been licking and scratching her rear end and neck, she was given a liquid worming medicine and had her temperature taken which was normal but she won't sleep or each much at all at the moment, we did take her back to the same vets but they said don't worry it will settle down, she is now whining a lot and very unsettled, any tips and recomendations would be very welcome, not sure if this is the right forum, maybe better in the pets one?

    Thanks

  6. Thanks for the info, I guess the drive yourself option does seem a bit more relaxed, have you got details of where you pick up the ferry to go accross to the resort etc?

A company in HH has just put a flyer in our letter box offering a day trip to do the visa extension for 2,100 baht which includes the visa.... seems pretty good if you can stomach the mini van drive!!!

As above. It is though a very nice drive especially when you head over the mountains to the other side of Thailand. I used to do it on a Honda wave from HH when I first got here. The beauty of driving yourself is you can stop when you want to and take as much time to get there and back as you want unlike the minibus services that race down there and back in the one day.

    Frightening

  7. I am thinking of doing a 90 day border run from Hua Hin to the Andaman Club in Myanmar, and was wanting to know if its better to drive ones self or go with an organised trip several have been advertised recently.

Also if I drive myself how much is the visa cost to get in to Myanmar and roughly how long does the drive take.... at a steady easy pace!

    Thanks

  8. Having just been back to the Honda dealership it turns out that the new model Honda City model can use all types of fuel, E20, Gasohol 91,95 as well as benzine 91 and 95, the dealer recommended Gasohol 95 and E20 for long journeys, although several of the staff at the dealership were using E20 all the time and were satisfied with the performance and kms per litre. They did say that if you change fuels try to run the tank right down before changing to different fuel.

Have started to use gasohol 95 (better than gasohol 91) and will report back in due course.

  9. Hi Folks,

I am about to do my first border run and intend to go accross from Friendship Bridge in Mukdahan to Laos for the re-entry stamp, and was wanting to know if as a UK passport holder ( on a multi entry O visa) if I need a visa to enter Laos to do this border run and if so where can I obtain it from?

Also what documents should I take with me as well as my passport?

I welcome any advice from fellow members who may use this route for their own 90 day border runs.

    Thanks in advance

  10. We have just signed up with TOT for a landline and their high speed wireless internet service, they set up the wireless router which is called D-Link and configured our net book which runs Windows XP Home edition and that works fine, however they then tried to configure our laptop which is running Windows Vista Home Premium, they got it working but a couple of hours after they left it would not show any internet pages even though it says it is connected, the pages comes up with internet explorer can not display this page! However when we plug in the yellow lead they left us to the back of the D-Link router and into the laptop it works fine!

My wife spent ages on the phone this morning to various TOT departments and finally got it running wirelessly, but when ever we turn the laptop off and use it later it won't work again without the yellow cable being attatched... as you can probably gather neither of us is very proficient in computers so we are hoping the more experienced people here may be able to offer a solution.

Thanks very much and hope someone can help!

  12. Hi

We are trying to find contact details for a company that does the spray foam roof tiles insulation, the type they spray on from the loft which reduces the temperature as well as stops the leaks, I seem to remember a company a while ago maybe not local that advertised in the Hua Hin magazine.

If anyone has a contact web site,e-mail or pnone number we would be most grateful.

    Thanks very much

  13. Ramipril is what is called an ACE inhibitor. While there are some costly imported brands of it here (e.g. Titrace) there are also several locally made generic equivalents which should not be epxensive. Some brand names:

    Acetate

    Corpril

    Gempril

    Mediram

    Ramicard

    Ramtace

Thanks very much for the info Sheryl will make a note of the ones you have listed.

  14. Me and my Thai wife are moving to Hua Hin in the middle of January and would like to find some local people to play table tennis with who are a good standard, and a place that has a table tennis table to maybe hire.

If there is enough interest perhaps start a local club and get the local schools involved as well.

If your interested or know of anywhere that has a table please let us know.

  15. Hi Guys,

Does anyone know where we could buy either of the following two table tennis robots?

AMDT TW2700-S9 Robot or a Y a T V989G both of these should come with a two head facility to provide many different types of spin and a remote programmable control box.

Any information would be gratefully received.

    Thanks
