Oh bugger - right you are Ubonrthai - sorry about that.
-
P.S - But you are not allowed another road trip until you finish your blog report on your drive to Angkor Wat!!!
-
Just apply online ubonrthai. I used this company last year http://www.hotels-in-vietnam.com/vietnam/vietnam-visa.html and had no problems.

According to Wiki, today an ESTIMATED 30% of adult males in the World are circumcised. The number appears to be falling particularly in Western countries. Interestingly the estimated number for Thailand is 13%.
Don't be silly barrybankruad - it is less then 1% remember. Swissie said so!

To finally settle this argument: Probably 99% of males living on this globe are NOT circumcised!
I will give you my house if you can prove such a ludicrous statement. Never heard such <deleted> in all my life.

Exactly, it is my decision whether to give me son the snip, pull my little girls tooth or send them to Sunday School. I don't appreciate it when someone tells me that they "find it selfish and self righteous in the extreme" for me to do that.
I don't usually react when someone does say that to me because your entitled to your opinion but I do take umbrage when you dish that out but can't take a comment from someone thinking your kids are going to be feral without retorting with "you disgusting l'il puke" and "you nasty l'il shit" .
The opening poster asked a serious question about what he thinks is best for his son. You should not judge him for that decision. Either help him with an answer or leave this thread alone.

something so crucial and integral to the male identity should not be trifled with.
If a bit of skin on your old fella is that important then something else must be missing from you life.

Get him an Aussie passport first. Apply through the embassy in Bangkok I believe. If you want a Thai passport drive up the road to Ubon to apply, as long as you have all your paperwork it is pretty easy to apply.

If you speak and write good English which obviously you do. Why not teach your child yourself? Easy.
Sent from my GT-I9300T using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
Wow, that is so easy! You've just solved all of the problems for raising a child in Thailand and Isaan so that they are now safe, healthy and well educated and have the values and morals that I want from them. Congratulations on your amazing insight that nobody has ever considered before. You have just changed my life with that incredible comment.
Why so negative Matt? I home school my kids and we move effortlessly between lives in Australia and Thailand and they are doing great. It is actually a very valid option.

Are they still all Par 3?

If you can borrow your FIL's car and he has the paperwork for it then I highly recommend that you drive his car from Ubon to Paxse. I have hired cars in Vientiane before but never in Paxse sorry.
I have stayed in this $20 - $25 ok room here twice before: http://www.memock.com/2012/12/27/review-of-seng-aroun-hotel-in-pakse-laos/
The Paxse hotel I stayed in once I thought was over rated but the view from the top floor open air restaurant is worth the trip for a meal.
For a little more luxury try this new place: http://www.memock.com/2013/01/06/athena-hotel-in-pakse-laos/

Visa is quick and easy - you will be fine.
What is your budget for the hotel?
-
A few more clues please.
Which area of the city?
Price of the room?
Next to anything you can remember?
Big place or just a few rooms?

According to the locals every square metre of Thailand is haunted.
Nevada is a complete and utter dump. Do not stay there.

Khun Matt - you couldn't find a website to book Sunee online? google 'sunee grand hotel' and you will see at least 4 different companies that take bookings for that place on the first page.
I stand corrected .... Seems she was fed the wrong information.... Have you seen the ghosts? As an aside I found the Mansion there great value the Nasri if I recall correctly? They have a large suite room for I think 1100 Baht .... Standard room 400 Baht?
It's called Natsiri Mansion. I did a review on it here: http://www.memock.com/tag/personal-review-for-nartsiri-mansion/

Not really the best hotel anymore but if you want a swimming pool and restaurants then that is your place.
Need any directions Matt? (That was a joke)
Make sure you pay ahead of time as they have a bad reputation for changing the price when you go to check in.

Shared bathroom? Luxury! For that price down under they give you an empty beer bottle to pee into.
