I was correcting the incorrect information that there are no hotels close to the wrong way. IMO the Laithong hotel rooms at twice the price are actually worse then the rooms at T3. I do agree though that the Laithong hotel does have TC Kitchen, Ant Bar and some half decent coffee shops very close by

Well, I think many stay home alot. The Wrong Way Bar is an expat hangout but there are no hotels nearby.
Not true. They have a hotel 20 metres behind them with clean room for approx 500 baht. Can book with Wrong Way. Pha Daeng Mansion which has great 550 baht rooms are a 75 metre walk away and T3 which to me is the best valued hotel in all of Ubon is one block around the corner.

Although not ideal, I would not let it put you off.
A few things to consider: Is the land on offer in or close to your village? Does your inlays know the person who is selling? Are they family, friends or just distant friends?
What does your village head man say?
And now, just being a sticky beak - how much is the land and what is its location?
-
Where does it say it is only 1 flight per week?

Google Mukdahan Manor for details on a great place to chill for a few hours and enjoy some wonderful western food.

All good points until you mentioned Archa beer. Nobody drinks Archa beer unless it is free.

There is an App called "Thai Flight" that I use all the time. Every domestic flight and airline in Thailand in a really easy to use format and not once has I ever caught it out with incorrect information or prices. Well worth the few dollars for people who fly domestically in Thailand.

Ermmmm it's his wife atycib, why would you say he has to pay? Marriage is a joint partnership for most people remember? They pay, not he. Well apart from people who have no trust in their 'life' partner and therefore I struggle to understand why they bother to marry in the first place.

You realize your post now enshrines your misanthropy for all time? Perhaps your young or too topical to care, but to mock a man who pleads for a lifeline defines you as a loser.I'm sorry that I am laughing but this has the makings of one of the all time best Thai Visa threads.
Had this post been entirely fabricated my point remains; the situation described is awful.
Arjunadawn, please go and read my 2nd post explaining my first comment as it would seem many people misunderstood my mirth.

You shouldn't be laughing, but try to give the man some support.
He needs it.
Unfortunately, our English is not as good as yours, but you can see the trouble and anxiety he is in.
If you want to nominate the best Thai Visa thread, try the one that the guy is asking if he can get his money back after he found his g/f is cheating on him.
I didn't have a go at his English, good on him for having a crack. I was laughing because so much is wrong and to spit it all out in one post made for amusing reading.
I mean we start out with no water in the village and then proceed to cover:
People burning coal.
Wife telling him to either fit in or move out.
He gets in trouble for leaving the fan on inside a room and his wife gets aggressive as a result.
He fears his wife.
She ignores his health and requests to not burn plastic.
Good God my man! Flee for the hills. You are obviously not cut out for village life and your wife has zero respect for you and you are scared of her.

Is there another restaurant ran by an American in Ubon? By which hospital, Ubonrak? Do you know the name?
You may be thinking about Kens American Bistro which I gave a plug here on TV a few months ago. Unfortunately a recent problem with the landlord / business partner has resulted in it having to close.

Laos is a great place to visit.
If you had actually planned your trip
at alla little more thoroughly I think you may have also discovered its charms. Bit harsh to blame Laos for not being able to communicate with your wife, picking up random strangers, giving money to drug addicts and purchasing a bottle of booze from the rip of 'duty free' places for more the twice the price you should have paid. -
I think you should post a photo of the wedding 'cake' John. It was amazing!

The urea will double the size of your beer in minutes making it quite cost effective.

No idea what you are waffling about Sirchai in that above post but why not get your car passport. It only takes an hour or so if you have your paperwork in order.

Why not just fly from PP to Bangkok and then onto Udon with Air Asia?
$100 for PP to BKK with AA and then $40 with AA or Nok onto Udon.

Calling Chris strange is polite. I could think of a lot worse.
I am interested to hear more about this Gerbil Jason fella though.....

I read this site with amusement. Commander Tamsom must be in his early 20s and his girlfriend too, to frequent U-Bar and MIX (be careful at MIX bombs have explored there in past years when it was called the CAVE). Seriously, there are dozens of night spots far better than MIX and U-bar. Places where one can dance, drink, relax and enjoy excellent music. Get your knees up so to speak. There are even the old fashion places where one can do the rock-can-rock, quick step- etc. with girls by the hour. But we are not going to tell you our Ubon secrets You have come on too strong.. You could lower the tone of the place. You are an outsider.
Hunter Maxwell, I am aghast! You are a pillar of Ubon society so I am shocked that you would know anything about night clubs, drinking and *gasp* girls by the hour.

Brisbane Lions no other team like them.
Do you think they will even win one game this year?
