  1. Thanks for that lomatopo. A question if I may.

On that first link, the 'TRUEMOVE H NETSIM 3G' for 99bht (http://truemoveh.truecorp.co.th/product/detail/317).

Managed to translate it. I'm correct in saying that 100MB download in 60 days and then it's finished. Then you dump that sim and buy another - or can you top it up. I guess not if it's working in this manner.

Sorry for being thick - this is all new to me. 100MB doesn't sound a lot.

  2. Apologies if this is answered elsewhere - have found bits & pieces.

I'm in Pattaya and have a laptop & want to connect to the internet. Been into Trumove (next to Tukcom) and their basic prepaid 'package' is 990 bht for the dongle then 399 bht/month for unlimited access - which is 427 bht once you've added tax.

The service desk in Tukcom (1st floor, next to the stairs) gave a price of 1590 bht for a dongle.

But what could I buy (where from and how much) that is more basic than this. I.e. a dongle and a simcard that you can topup from 7/11 when the credit runs out. I'm not a 24/7 internet user and if it costs 1bht/min that's fine for me.

    I'd appreciate any help.

  3. Here in Pattaya have been unable to seed or access the site all weekend - until now. Everything has just started to seed and I'm accessing the site about 50% of the time. So yes, it looks like it's on the mend.

  4. Thanks for that.

It appears that he did a visa run about a month ago so he does in fact have around 2 months more on the 90-day stamp he received thru that. That is why there is no paper attached.

On your last point tho, re. another friend who has just got his first Retirement Visa, there is a piece of paper stapled onto the front page indicating the date he must report for his first 90-day reporting, albeit not the same strip of paper that is the bottom half of the TM47.

Interestingly (for me at least), an immigration officer told my (first) friend that the paper stapled into the passport is for your infomation only - in order that you don't forget when to report. I.e. it doesn't matter whether you have one stapled in or not

  5. A friend of mine has just got his retirement visa but is missing the white slip of paper stapled in which says when your 90-day visit is due.

His Non-Imm O visa expires on Aug 27th and the newly acquired retirement visa started on Aug 1st.

He does have a re-entry permit and is flying to the UK on Aug 7th, returning here in early Sept.

Is it that because he is leaving the country and will receive a 90-day stamp on his return that the slip of paper is not needed yet or is it an oversight ??

(Just when you thought you knew all the ins-and-outs of visa regs!!).

Any thoughts will be much appreciated.

  6. Apologies if this is addressed elsewhere.

For the last n years I've been getting A multi-entry non-Immigrant "O" visa from the UK. I've just heard that two months ago the rules changed and that in order to qualify for one now you need to be married to a Thai.

This sounds over-the-top - but two people (one of whom works in a Visa shop) have confirmed this.

Can someone definitely confirm this is the case !! An awful lot of people will not qualify if this is indeed true.

  7. A friend of mine (who is over 50 & British) has a 1-year multiple entry O visa. The visa expires on May 31st. If he does a visa run around/before this date he can get 3 months more. Let's say that will give him till 30th Aug.

Now, he wants to visit Cambodia in June or July. The question is : When he returns, what stamp will they give him on the border ??

My guess is (and it's only a guess) he'll get one month, so if he travels before 30th July, the 30th Aug date will no longer be in play.

  8. There's really no need to purchase apps in the security category these days - unless you're in business (and have many PCs to consider), got money to burn or seriously think you need only the very best. I use Comodo (free) as a firewall and Avast (free) as an antivirus. I've never had a problem - and do serious surfing everyday.

Take a look here (there are many similar sites) : http://www.techsuppo...us-software.htm

Gone are the days when you really need to purchase any software in this category - IMO).

Do read the following link here tho'. I personally am completely happy with it - but others have had problems :

  9. Thanks for those answers guys. I understand what you're all saying, but up until a week ago or so it was accessible from Thailand (for the past few years). Maybe the rules have changed - who knows ?

  10. A friend of mine who lives in Thailand and comes from New Zealand can't connect to mylotto.co.nz. Apparently folks in NZ have no trouble, but over here it says unable to connect. I've tried a proxy via the UK and NZ to no avail.

A friend of a friend (who's based in NZ) tried to call the company but the switchboard is constantly jammed - probably with folks the world over complaining !!

Can anyone shed any light on this ??

  11. I'm an expat living in Thailand and have recently heard that you can get TV channels from the UK via newuktv.com.

You pay (35 USD per month), download and install some software, login and hey presto - maybe...

Has anyone got any experience of this ?? The website is quite basic but it's advertised on Pattaya People radio which sort of implies it might actually work - but then again who knows !!

  12. Thanks for all this guys. Get the login page but can't login. At least we know what's occuring now. I guess it's a good idea to note that IRC channel down for the future.

Can't connect to IRC either. C'est la vie !

  13. Both http and https redirect to spoof site (if that is the right word). I'll investigate more and post back. And yes, I happen to be with with 3BB too.

  14. Thanks for that, but I am experienced and have 2 PCs both of which cannot access thebox - they did so earlier. No viruses or spyware etc. I believe something is at work here deeper that we know. They advised people to access it via https a while ago and I believe something else has occurred now because of the feeleech situation.

Mmm...interesting. Dunno what's going on. I'm in Thailand. Have used the 'https' site for the last month or more with no probs. But just entered that website now and it immediately redirects to thebox.biz which is something else.

    Puzzzled...............................

Nidge, I realise that (the birthday and all) - I logged on earlier and it was ok - downloaded some stuff.. But now it just redirects to 'thebox.biz' which is a completely different site.

Didn't want to start a new topic, but it appears again that "thebox.bz" has gone (for the time being at least - hopefully ! )

It fires off a website that is "thebox.biz" which contains a load of rubbish.

    Anyone know anymore ??

    Cheers.........
