Now I've had a good nights sleep (dunno how), I'll add a few more of my thoughts minus the censored expletives.
Re. KODI. I've spent hours with it and have many Sports (and other) addons installed. But it all boils down to the same thing. When it comes to streaming live sports it's hit and miss. Other live streams can be very good and movies/TV series well, but it's not live - so it's fine.
I've spent literally the whole of a footy game searching for a stable (doesn't have to be HD) stream, only to stumble upon one 5 minutes before the final whistle. The same is true for the websites that specialise in live sports streaming of which there are many.
If you're a die-hard sports fan and you want perfect uninterrupted viewing then you have to go for the likes of Truevisions. There's a higher price tag but you're assured of the best possible picture with no buffering.
Me ?? I did a month with iLikeHD until they took off EPL which was previously included in the 600bht package. If things change I might go back to them.

Just a quickie before I go to bed. Signed up for a month with iviewHD who said (quite rightly) that they had added the following EPL channels :-
MIO Stadium 1 ( EPL )
MIO Stadium 2 ( EPL )
MIO Stadium 3 ( EPL )
MIO Stadium 4 ( EPL )
MIO Stadium 5 ( EPL )
MIO Stadium 6 ( EPL )
MIO Stadium 7 ( EPL )
MIO Stadium 8 ( EPL )
Astro Super Sport 1 ( EPL )
Astro Super Sport 2 ( EPL )
Astro Super Sport 3 ( EPL )
K+ PM HD-Live1 (EPL)
K+ NS HD-Live2 (EPL)
K+ PC HD-Live3 (EPL)
K+ 1 HD-Live4 (EPL)
SkyNet-Live5 (EPL)Their package (for android apk) is 600 bht per month.
All these channels have the word (Test) appended to them by the way, so in spite of the fact that these guys (and other companies supplying the same) have had time to prepare, IMO it's a damn poor show.
I watched Hull vs Leics on MIO Stadium 1 (Singapore). Continually buffering. Some of the other EPL channels (not mentioned above but labelled as such) were showing anything but EPL.
I switched to Sky Sports 1 and it was excellent up to the last 10 minutes or so when it froze. I couldn't watch the remainder of the game on any of the other EPL channels. (My internet is good and constant 100Mbps).
I'll give it a month then decide but for now it's pretty rotten.
On a good note - all UKTV (BBC, ITV, Sky etc) is HD and perfect, well it would be wouldn't it. It's when it comes to live sporting events that these companies go T1ts up !! Sorry for the language, but it just ******'s me off !!

Re. iViewHD. Here's a channel listing for the apk (Android) service.
http://iviewhd.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=158_159&products_id=390
A lot of sports channels are listed but I'm dubious about them showing EPL this season as the list includes CTH Stadiums (in the IPTV Sports section) which has closed down.
If anyone can shed light on this please do so.

My Retirement visa is up for renewal on Nov 9th. I realise that you can renew it before that date, but is there a grace period of say 7 days after, like there is for the 90-day reporting ?? It's just that I'm not sure I can make Nov 9th or before.
Thanks.

Firstly apologies if I shouldn't post this here. If so, please move it to the correct forum.
CTH finally closed it's doors on EPL and movies and other stuff and is now primarily showing Thai content.
A friend of mine in Pattaya has no use for his system now and is selling the CTH dish, box and remote. It's about 2 months old.
Anyone interested please PM me.
-
Thanks a lot. I'll look into it.
-
Thanks. Had a look but it's all in thai. Any ideas as to how you get it ??
Cheers.

Update. 3 of my friends have invested in Truevisions (GOLD) after being told that they would definitely show every Premier League game.
A 4th friend was told that "it's not a done deal yet although they are hopeful of winning the rights".
After relaying this to one of the first three, he phoned said company and said to them that "I do not watch movies. I only purchased said package for the football. I expect to get every baht back I've laid out if it does not come to pass". The reply was "Yes, if you were told definitively that we would have the Premier League and we don't, you be re-imbursed in full".
There must be hundreds if not thousands of systems (domestic & commercial) newly installed ready for next season based on this information.
Watch this space - or go watch a live football match should things turn out in TV's favour !!

True in Chiang Mai yesterday told me that it's a done deal and the EPL will be shown on 4 channels available on the Gold package for 1568 baht.
Not much good then when more than 4 games are being played at the same time as per Saturday 3pm UK time kick-off's!
Especially at that rip off price.
Re. my earlier post. My friend was told that 4 games will be shown on their HD channels, the remainder on their SD channels (of which there are 7) - so all matches will be aired.
Here's a link to the GOLD package. Pls remove if I shouldn't insert this :

Two friends of mine have just had Truevisions installed. There's a special promotion till the end of the month (which is only one day away now).
They (my friends) were told by True that they will broadcast all the EPL games. In the GOLD package there are 4 HD Sports channels so the remaining games will be shown on the SD channels.
As far as I (along with anybody else) have seen, there has been no official announcement in the media regarding anything new re. 2016-19 EPL broadcasters other than beIN Sports have got it and CTH are folding soon.

Crikey what's happening ?? My FTTx went from 30 to 50 around the end of last week and their website said just that. After reading this thread, sure enough it's now gone up to 100 and their website now reflects this change. Good stuff - let's hope it's not an early April fool !!

As I posted a while ago, a friend of mine spent hours (and even more baht) trying to contact CTH on 1619 to get the box activated with no avail. Two days ago around 2pm he emailed them at [email protected] and got a call this morning at 9.30 from a very pleasant Thai man with good english who spent about 45 mins helping him get the box working incl. all the CTH channels.
So anyone still in this predicament, an email is worth a shot.
-
A friend of mine called 1619 last week and got thru' after about 15 minutes but another friend tried for a few days (middle of the night as well) and has failed to speak to anyone - after an hour on hold (music playing) he was cut off every time - PLUS you pay for the call, must've cost him 200-300 baht in all. A completely ridiculous state of affairs.

I think they they forgot they had GMM ZIP IP users (Internet box) , were there any on screen messages warning of impending doom?I am sooo confused.
We have the GMM Zip IP box, with the "Ultra or Beyond" package..cant remember..its just over 700 THB a month.
Sunday we lost all Fox channels and Starworld.
Called and got through just a short time ago, and told that they have not renewed the Fox contract, so all Fox affiliated broadcasts have now ceased, although we can still get the Stadium channels, (but how much longer ?)
So that's Fox Premium, HD and Action movies gone, (aside from the News and Sports).
That leaves us WB, Sony and Hits for farang viewing, (Hits has been spelled incorrectly and should have an "S" as the first letter !).
I thought this change was only going to affect satellite installations ?
We have been told they are figuring out some form of compensation, but as of yet, do not know what form this compensation will take.
He has promised to call us back.
Whilst I like to watch EPL, as my team is struggling to gain promotion, it is not as important as it could be, and now am not sure what options I have to try and obtain a package that offers suitable viewing,
This is being handled very badly...again....
MOTOnly message was that confusing ticker about top up services going away. I
think I will end up using Kodi...cannot make head or tail on where I stand now..if Stadium goes away, then its 700+ baht for mainly Thai unwatchable programs..
tilaceer : Kodi addon "MR Network TV" has Stadiums 1 thru' 5 in HD but only in Thai. I shan't put any links here but PM me if you want more info and I'll try and oblige. (Just installed it this morning).

Just found this. It's from The Nation so the link (hopefully) should be acceptable.

Just found this (in case some of you haven't seen it). Apologies if this link is already somewhere in the previous posts :-

My friend wants one to take back to New Zealand. They might be commonplace here but not over there.

Just to wind up this post (pun intended), I've been told that they are on sale at Theprasit Market simetimes.

A clockwork key. That's the best way to describe it. That great big plastic? key that you see stuck on the back/side of cars & pickups.
Anyone know where to get one ??

Can use this link to stream Pattaya 105FM. Works fine. Replace 105 with 103 and that works too. Appears to be the same station. Who knows.
