  1. You can get a private room for Bt3,500 no problem and then there are the Executive rooms. https://chulalongkornhospital.go.th/kcmh/en/room-type-and-rate/
  2. I have been able to get a double room 4/4 times. Be wary of family room - food may not be included.
  3. Edward VII was given a morphine overdose apparently so that he would die in time for the news to make the next days edition of The Times, but the body shuts down in a fairly predictable hierarchical way that allows reasonable timing of calls to the family to attend.
  4. I am absolutely for this in principle, but safeguards are needed so it does not become a way of saving on winter heating payments. I have read allegations that in one EU country it has become a way of freeing up beds.
  5. Basically you are exposing yourself to pathogens from all over the world that you have no immunity to. Same happens when you change money in Vasu or use the lift in a condo that does ST lets to all and sundry. This one reason why I am so opposed to ST lets.
  6. I have been an inpatient four times and have only ever been on wards with Thais. I have never heard of such facility. This is a Thai hospital serving the Thai population. There are private rooms on the wards. English speaking by nursing staff varies (there is no reason why a Thai nurse in a Thai hospital should speak English).
  7. Why go home to work when they have a job in Thailand?
  8. It is the paperwork nightmare that will be worse than the tax, and as you say likely to be enforced as a condition of visa extension. All problems will be our problems.
  9. The rain was probably caused by foreign Imperialists as are most things bad in N. Korea, apparently.
  10. With all paperwork - four/two actual employees? I would be interested in what type of business. I always understood that the regulations would not allow you to run a business from home because they wanted to force you to rent commercial premises- everything is done to benefit the Thais, if they don't benefit then it can be closed off.
  11. Lower Sukhumvit isn't as bad as Oxford St yet.
  12. So what do we get in return for this greedy grab? I see in uptick in airport departure tax collections.
  13. ...despite bordering on four other countries.
  14. I think this probably just applies to trolls. It seems trolls have a lot of problems gaining entry into Thailand.
  15. Does it not occur to you that you are just believing a story?
  16. Sure, she qualified as a nurse, works in a large hospital in Bangkok and works part time in a bar in Pattaya. Must try harder.
  17. Fortress Thailand. No entry without pre approval. Much easier to reject an application than turn away at airport/border.
  18. A bit rich from the person calling others "bigots".
  19. Retirement extension. Sorry to disappoint you. You will have to stop gloating about me receiving a "stay Thailand too much" rejection email.
  20. Personally I would rather have an ink stamp than risk "no hab in computer" at some point in the future.
  21. Remember reading on here that this was a necessary worakround to be able to proceed with the application in some cases.
  22. I know of older people who just came here on visa exempt rather than tourist visa once the online application was introduced*, now I guess they will just have to stop coming. * not everyone knows you have to upload a blank jpeg file to proceed.
  23. I've lived here for 30 years and I have never used a QR code.
  24. Not quite, it is airport tax.
