  1. What did you think would happen? The UK is an Island, with an Island mentality, (small minded) I'm English and proud to be so, however, there are way to many people in the UK that have never been any where…. Done anything or been anyone, who works all week, or not! And go on about the (not in any particular order) wars we have won, football and how they would run the England team, how to pull a bird, and be happy to tell you how much they know about everything. If you need to know anything in the UK, go to a pub on a Fri night, find the biggest bar fly and ask him…. Anything! Everything in the UK is dumbed down for the bone heads that now live there. Anything you say that doesn't fit their view or what they've seen on TV…. And you're a liar. Sorry to hear your family seems to be cast from the same stone. Time to move on, you've out grown them mate. The world is a big place, life a journey, not a destination. Good luck!

Obviously Mr Mae Tang you have been in an English Pub to much, I am proud to be English one of the most cosmopolitan races on the planet, My wife who is Thai has always been teated with respect from neighbors and friends , those who insult her, which i do not know of any, are not friends anyway,

I am English also, and have lived in Thailand for seven years.Have to agree totally with the first post, every time i return to the UK,which is normally once a year i notice more and more of the small town mentality way of thinking, the majority of people haven't travelled, and are very narrow minded in their views on subjects outside the town they are living in,as the above poster put so well,'Anything you say that dosen't fit their view etc'.

This way of thinking also seems common amongst some expat communitys here in Thailand.

  3. Kanaeng 2,the original, not the one at Chalong pier. From karon, get to Chalong circle, take the Phuket town road, past the police station, and look out for a huge yellow sign about half a mile on the right hand side with Kanaeng 2 written on it,turn right at the sign and follow the narrow road down to the end.

Consistently excellent food at cheap prices, right on the beach with great views, you can also take your own wine if you prefer.

  4. I have been told it is used in the context of 'I dont really want to ask you,but.....',i myself have used it in this context and it was very well recieved.I have only lived here 5 years,so i'm sure there are plenty of people on TV who may be able to explain it better.

  6. This post is just a blatant attempt to drum up support for stickman (SM) site because Thai Visa is kicking that site arse now.

The moderators should have shut this post down as soon as it was posted.

TV has grown in the biggest forum in Thailand and someone wants a piece of TV success for free. Bullocks I say.

That being said, there is allot of excellent info here on TV and some gents that are really knowledgeable in their areas.

The leads to people building their own houses in Isaan is great (Need an english TV show for that "Billy Bob builds in Isaan" what a crack that would but in all seriousness we all learn alot from each others mistakes.

There are some real visa experts here as well as many other subjects.

If you want to stay in Thailand, keep up of trouble and stay up on everything current so you won't get ripped off, TV is the only place to be.

It's a dam_n shame we could not harness all the experience, education and members here to get a voice into the current govt. to ease up regulations for retiree's, married and legitimate business owners.

A joke surely?,TV and Stickman to me are totally different sites, each with their own merits.

  7. or who havent discovered the truth yet,or dont want to discover the truth

ahhh.... the age old excuse for the bigoted, ignorant or just plain stupid....

    OR,the people that understand.

    PST.

Hahaha, you mean the people who trick themselves into thinking they "understand" better than everyone else, to help explain to themselves why they are so miserable and bitter when other people can live a happy life without moaning at all and everything?

Er,no,i mean the people that understand, can't be that difficult to understand can it?,obviously it can.

    I understand,and i'm not miserable or bitter,i live a happy life and don't moan,why?,because i understand.

    Fail.

  8. ^Absolute rubbish,

Stickman articles and reader submissions give an extremely warped perspective of life in Thailand. A perspective of someone who's life revolves entirely around the bar scene and the type of people who work in them.

Anyone who thinks otherwise IS that someone or is too new here to know otherwise, anyone who doesn't live that sort of life knows this all too well.

They only give a warped perspective to people who dont understand,or who havent discovered the truth yet,or dont want to discover the truth. So anyone who thinks otherwise IS that person who dosent understand Thailand.

Also, only a small percentage of stickmans articles revolve round the bar scene, there are hundreds that don't.Try reading some of them.

  9. A wise guy who dosent get taken for a mug by Thai prostitutes, and is willing to share this information with other individuals who wont be taken for a ride by Thai prostitutes.

Hats off to stickman for covering all Thai related subjects (not just bar subjects) so well.

No wonder his readership is increasing weekly.

I find it amazing that people are taken for a mug unless they read some trash by Stickman.I also find it amazing that only thai prostitute take farang for ride lol.

I've never been taken for a mug by anybody, before or after reading stickman.

    But thanks for your input.

  10. "but they all seem to be old fashioned"

Yes I know exactly what you mean. All the fans in HomePro, HomeWorks etc. look like something Somerset Maugham sat under in 1915 in Singapore as he wrote "Of Human Bondage". (Please don't take this literally – he probably didn't write it in Singapore.)

I wanted modern looking ceiling fans for my house and I got so frustrated I even considered importing from Japan. I eventually found and ordered fans from a Thai company called Regene. They manufacture three models that would qualify as modern looking.

I immediately ruled out the one blade "DESIGNER" model because of its ridiculously high price.

The "i-FAN" looks quite good but is mechanically suspect - (I unfortunately bought some of this model.)

The "i-CON" model ticks all the boxes. It looks very hi-tech and is mechanically sound – quiet and vibration-free. Highly recommended.

A year ago House and Home had some Regene models on display, maybe still.

Based on my experience, if you buy them from Artisan in Sam Kong, you will get a better discount than anywhere else. Talk to the female boss, Boy.

If you like, PM me and you can come and see them in my house.

Thanks,do you have a link to pictures atall?
