Both things sound unusual to me.  First time I've heard of not receiving a Residence Certificate while you wait, but her explanation makes sense as they do need to be signed off by a senior officer.  The second one is great if it's true.  Not sure someone working at immigration knows what will or will not be accepted by the Land Transport Office, but worth giving it a try.  If true she saved you 50%.  If not true, the LTO is not far from Immigration.

If you have a yellow house registration book I've heard reports that they now accept that in lieu of a Residence Certificate.  This is a reversal of longstanding policy, if true.

Went to Immigration to get cert for Thai license, lady said you only need 1 cert now, instead of two, and can just photocopy it. She also said i have to go back tommorow to collect it as her 'boss' wasnt there to sign it off. Is this new procedure, i always normally get it on the same day, not long after you hand in the paperwork?

Yes, i guess the only issue is wether the screen from the place i was quoted is a genuine Acer product. I was told it would have a years warranty included in the price

Thanks, do they repair whilst you wait?. Ive had a quote for 3000 baht to replace screen, and they will do it whilst i wait. Would going direct to the Acer shop be cheaper do you think?

I Live in Thailand, but if i had to return home (i'm not American) urgently, or wanted to travel to a country that requires one astra dose, i have no proof apart from that cert....

If WHO or IATA (International Air Transport Association) come up with an actual international standard then probably it will be possible to apply for it using the Thai National Vaccination Certificate as evidence.  We're a ways from that now I think.  No plans to travel internationally for me anyway in the foreseeable future.  Will wait for things to become more settled.  Enjoying life in Phuket in the meantime.

Quite concerning though. If i had to go to back home urgently, and needed to prove i had been given one dose of Astra, all i would have is that cert, nothing else.

I don't recommend anyone get it unless you plan travel in Thailand outside of Phuket before you get your second AZ jab.  After I get my second AZ I would probably have to pay another 50 baht to get a new certificate that reflected the second jab.  Although, interestingly if someone were to scan the QRC on the Vaccination Certificate it would take them to the MOPH site which would show online I'd received the second AZ jab (after I do). 

To be clear, you don't need this National Vaccination Certificate to get your second jab.  I just like to collect documentation. ????  I'll just add it to my collection of things that don't seem to be particularly useful now but I guess might come in handy one day:  pink ID card, yellow book, etc.  It's just a hobby.

Thanks again, so that cert can only be used within Thailand, what would i need to show at immigration to say i've have been vaccinated to travel Internationally?

Thanks, that is the cert that the lady talking on the microphone mentioned, yes?. Do you need to get the cert after the first dose, or can you get it after the second dose?. I junderstand it is only needed for travel outside of phuket, but if you have no plans to travel in the near future, can you get it anytime?

No.  It may have to do with the hospital that staffed the particular vaccination center.  Chalong Hospital staffed Phuket Orchid Spa and Resort Karon where I had mine and there were no stickers that I saw.  Patong Hospital staffed the Jungceylon vaccination center and stickers were used there.  So I think it has to do more with the hospital staffing the vaccination center than the vaccination center itself, but I'm not sure.

Thanks, i too had mine at Phuket Orchid in Karon, and saw the stickers on a roll on the desk at the final check point before being jabbed, but never received one, Strange.

Does anyone know why some people have received a sticker in their passport after being vaxxed, and some haven't?

By the way I will be checking the next appointment date on their website to ensure that it does not change. Currently showing a 12-week period. They were talking about reducing the time  between shots to 10 weeks. 

Yes, i think at present everyone has a date, but no time for their second jab. The lady speaking on the microphone said people would receive an sms with the appointment time, but that never happened ( at least for me) for the first appointment, so i think the time should be available via Phuketwin website.

Ok, it's very easy for me to copy things as I have a printer/scanner/copier at home, but we're only talking about two sheets of paper.  If the vaccination center doesn't take them you can always use them at immigration when you do your next extension.  ????

Yes, that's what i did. I had left over copies from my last extension. Seems some people didn't copy theirs, and some people did and they weren't needed.

That's strange, everyone i know who went to Karon Orchid, myself included took photocopies and they were all taken from them. There was even one person next to me who was told to get his passport photocopied as he hadn't done it. Seems there was no consistency.

Copies of your visa and passport were required and mentioned on the check list of things to bring when you made your appointment. Mine were looked at at every stage of the process, but not 'checked' as such.

Thais get a sticker for each shot on back of ID card.  But still need certificate to get back into Thailand.  My wife just come back few hours ago.  No temp reading. Just glanced at the paper.

Yes, at the second point upstairs i could clearly see rolls of stickers on the desk, obviously for the Thais.

i saw one walking around too, but never had my passport or visa copies checked anywhere along the process.

i too was in Karon for my first jab. I didn't receive any sort of sticker in my passport to say i'd had the jab, did anyone else get one?. Apart from a bit of paper with the second appt date on which could easily be lost, how would any immigration outside of Thailand know i had been vaxxed if i needed to travel abroad to somewhere you need to show proof?. Or do you get something official in your passport after the second jab?
