I signed up to DeeMoney a few weeks back. No need for any branch visit, all done on line and via mobile. Very easy with usual verifications.

Made one transfer to UK bank, so far. Fee free for 1st transfer. Next working day credit and good rate. Very happy with the experience.

So would you need to download your Thai bank mobile app if you dont have it already, and dee money mobile app too?, or can you just download your thai bank mobile app and send it via Dee from a laptop?. Also do you need to use a mobile app for your uk recieving account?

If you have a work permit it's easy. If you don't, you need to be able to show the source of the funds coming into Thailand, e.g. inward transfer, or proceeds from sale of property. Some branches may just do it without requesting anything, luck of the draw.

Thanks, i have no WP, and the source of the funds into Thailand was from my saving account, so would a statement at the time be considered as proof?

  3. I need to transfer 350,000 baht approx from my Bankok bank to my uk bank. Is this straight forward?, ive read the Bangkok banks info on this and as a non thai i need to have a letter with source of income or something similar?

If anyone has any advice i would appreciate it. I have looked at Dee Money too, but as far as i can see you need to visit one of their branches in BKK in person to complete the application

    TIA

    1. The 60 days extension extends your permission of stay from the admitted until day for 60 days, not from the application day.

I was admitted till 8th April, extended on 3rd April and the permission of stay was extended till 7th June. Was 60 days extension upon marriage to a Thai too. I know I had no b@lls to gamble, as the confirmed amnesty was just announced hours after.

    2. The day you apply for the 1 year extension, the 400k THB have to be seasoned for at least 2 months  in your own Thai bank account (no joint or overseas account). Any currency is accepted. Funds have to come from abroad.

BTW you are quite safe and have plenty of options as your visa is still good till 2021. Relax.

Funds do not have to come from abroad, the 400k can come from anywhere providing its in your Thai account for 2 months.

I did my second extension through marriage a couple of months ago (after previous 10 retirement extensions), and never had a home visit.

This is my first for a few years, but i have previous extensions based on marriage and work permit. I didnt recieve a visit for them either?

  6. With regards to a home visit after you receive your 'under consideration' stamp, how quickly does this happen?, its been almost 2 weeks now since i applied, and no phone calls, or house visit yet?

Since the one year extension moved down to room 103 more than 3 years now ?? I have never seen a volunteer. There is a Thai IO outside who helps with papers and pre screens. Gives a number. Know this guy for more than 20 years. Pleasant officer.

Extensions are upstairs, room 204, well at least marriage extensions are. Very pleasant volunteer, Korean i think or possible Chinese.

  8. There has just been a post on one of the Facebook expat pages and a guy said he went to the drive thru today to do his 90 day report but couldn't due to something to do with the covid 19 shelter? so he went to room 103 and did it there

It seems to change from 1 day to the next

The CNX office is way better than it used to be, and covid means its actually operating at a tolerable / reasonable level.. There's smart switched on volunteers and 'pre check' checkers.. and in general, its working quite pleasantly at this volume, I cant imagine how it would be operating at regular volume, chiang mai is just way under staffed and under resourced for the non Thai population of the province. You could even gamble on a late lunch arrival and likely not busy, if you didnt have fixed tight deadlines to your planning.

It was kind of weird on one aspect.. We were processed by a younger officer, who didnt appear to speak or understand english, which seems an occupational drawback.. My Thai is rough, and so she was doing it all via the wife, either she was acting to be difficult or she really didn't seem to follow careful slow english, when I asked questions or brought up issues, which seems a little hard to believe. She also had to ask and refer to an older lady next table, which is my guess why I think there was no leeway on anything.

One pain point. They now demand a bank book update, on the day of the application.. So if your going there at 6 or 7am, you need to go to an ATM and update the book, making copies when you get there, not an update the previous day and being prepared. That was a double pain for me as my bank book is old (who uses them with phone apps and net banking any more ??) and mag stripe wrecked, so I cant update from an ATM, so I had to run off, going round the city, looking for an open branch despite having done exactly this yesterday. Luckily there is a branch of my bank not far that opened at 8:30.

I find the whole thing frustrating, the arbitrary changes, issues thrown up like needing a house check and the expectation you have to be totally available for whatever thier whim is but the processing and office itself was as good as its ever been in Chaing Mai.

Hope i get a similar result at Phuket. Many thanks for the information.

There is good chance your application will not of been approved by the report back date.

The under consideration stamp to allows you to stay in the country until your application is approved. The report back date is just that.

Being a couple of days late is not a problem at most offices. You should call them to check to see if it has been completed.

If your wife had your passport she could go to immigration and get your stamp done.

Following on from my previous post, i know of 2 people that have waited over 6 weeks to get their second stamp recently at Phuket. One of those cases was nearer 8 weeks. He was told there is a backlog, and probably slower postal services too back from Hat Yai or Songkhla where Phuket applications go to to be approved.

Livin Los, i am doing my marriage extension late next week also, if you could let me know how you go in general at Phuket i would appreciate it.

    PST.

  11. I got a 60 day extension of my NON O ME mid April, as i obviously couldn't leave to do a border run before it expired, and my next step is going for my first years extension based on marriage for about 7/8 years, later this week.

Will it be an easy going application due to the current situation, and not being able to leave to get a new NON O if refused, or am i going to be given the run around as i've been using NON O ME for years without extending, who knows????.

For the past two years in Phuket, one photo together inside the house (the one I supplied both sitting at our dining table), one together outside the house with the house number showing.

Both photos printed in colour, portrait format, on normal photo copy paper.

Thanks, could you clarify the 'passport size' picture needed also please?, on the PIV site it says 'passport size', to me that is 35mm x45mm, correct?
