  1. I voted with my feet - I now never go to Patong and yet I live on Phuket Island - I haven't been now for over 2 years and if I never go again it will be too soon !!! The whole town is a disaster from the tuk-tuks through to the tailors and scam artists what used to be a beautiful fishing village is now an eye-sore and very user unfriendly place.

Needless to say I advise all friends and acquaitances to avoid it like the plague.

We'll write you down as an Everton supporter then Mr. Mogoso, OK ?........ :D

Whereas we from Old Trafford are the epitome of fine manners, we like to think of ourselves as a League of Gentlemen. Isn't that right Gents ?

I didn't say I was an Everton supporter. In my post I mentioned seeing Chang written on the jersey and thought that they were the Manchester squad, afterall it is a Thai beer. I did say the players in red seemed to be the better squad. It was a closeup of a jersey in the match that I saw that Everton was on the blue jerseys. I made the post finding it odd that Taksins team wasn't sponsered by beer Chang as he is Thai afterall.

So while you may be a gentleman, I won't dispute that, perhaps a rereading will show no bias for either team by me. I had known of Man U as a first division team, but thought Everton was a lower class.

    Mr Mogoso,

My reply was meant to be a bit of light hearted banter between fans, I am sorry if you have taken any offence as none was intended.

I thought as a beer drinker that you were showing a preference for Everton as they have Chang as their major sponsors. I must have been mistaken.

I shall in future direct all my attempts at comical diatribes towards Liverpool, Leeds & Manchester City Supporters only....... :bah:

  3. If anyone is going to Australia you might need some help in communicating with some of my contrymen there. Here is a little pidgin to help you on your way:-

    OK ! begrudgingly, Seasons Greetings

  8. Looking forward to the game tonight Ken? Merry Christmas to you.

I'm hoping that United put on a festive treat for us all, by giving Sunderland a severe drubbing. I'll be having a couple of cold ones with some footballing tragics this evening, and hopefully see Macanello choking on his beer when his mob Liverpool lose (Living in hope). :o

Greetings & Festive Salutations to you Mr.Toad and all those of the Red Devil persusion.

Yes it always seems a shame to inflict heartache and worry onto former warriors (Keane, Bruce, Hughes, Coppell & Robson etc), but then I say to myself "Sorry chaps, this is no time for sentiment"

I'll settle for a good fair game in the end.

Cheers & Best Wishes to All

  9. I'll give it to you if you tell me what a Grinch is.

A character from the Doctor Seuss children's books- who hated Christmas and stole everyone's presents!

Edit - check him out here!

I think I prefer May Gibbs' Wicked Banksia Men from "Snugglepot & Cuddlepie

but now I get your drift so please post a photo and I'll post a a picture of the Banksia Men just to show you how terrifying they can be.. :o

I'll give it to you (a belated Xmas present) -- the city has the same name as an American state. :o

I'm gonna be the Grinch- steal this Christmas present!

    Montana, Bulgaria.

    "You Dirty Rat"........... :D

I'll give it to you if you tell me what a Grinch is.

  11. If you are flying into Phuket then the first place to check out is Nai Yang, the best family beach (and safest for swimming) on the north west of the island, the main hotel on the beach is expensive but there are lots of cheaper alternatives further back. Another location Nai Thon is perhaps worth investigating, both these beaches are fairly quiet this year. Mai Khow beach doesn't offer very much, but if that's your style then go and investigate it.

If you need a more detailed account of Nai Yang (I have lived here nearly 6 years) please feel free to PM me.

As an earlier poster has pointed out there aren't any jungles or forests in this part of Thailand and if you haven't been here for say 20 years you may be in for a shock.

Day trips from here are safe & easy from around here, so it is possible to elephant trekking, kayaking, fishing, diving, and a whole host of other activities.

S.A.F. not the only one pleased with Ronaldo. Everton played well and if it wasn't for a rather silly defensive mistake would have come away with a point, but that's football

    Man Utd 2 v Everton 1
