Bummer for the "the sky is falling" brigade, but it looks like the numbers are leveling out. There will be usual moaners out here claiming the numbers are incorrect, false, weekend under-reporting, etc. But for those of use who didn't jump onboard the drama train, this is good news.

Yeah, it's a complete disaster at the moment. Some of this stuff isn't available until you get to the airport it seems. When I flew from BKK to Hatyai last week, I asked my wife to check the requirements. All she was able to find was some info stating I'd need to fill out a form at the airport. I needed to scan QR code at check-in and then fill out the form. There were QR codes for different provinces, but don't recall seeing Krabi there. Sorry I can't be of more help.
Maybe check with the airlines could be an option? They are aware of all the rules and regulations and have English speaking help desks. -
Provinces are allowed to set their own entry restrictions, so you will want to check with Krabi authorities regarding what's needed at the moment. Songkhla has a web form you'll need to fill out before being allowed into the province, but no idea what Krabi is doing at the moment.

They probably have decided that the guy who announces the numbers, can make them up by himself, and no need any more for a committee to negotiate which number they gonna pull out of their hat.
Or, and I am really going out on a limb here, the numbers that are announced today are actually yesterday's number.

So it is you who gets to cherry-pick which news articles are reliable and which are not? Every article and news item out there that supports your opinion and views is valid, everything else is not. Good job remaining credible!
News articles can found to support any opinion or stance.- 1

Millions of lives lost? Less than 1% actual mortality rate - per WHO it is 0.23%. It will take 50 million in Thailand to reach herd immunity naturally. You can do the math
And to give you a hint; it's about twice number of annual traffic accident deaths...

Why is it a requirement to have a fit to fly cert then arrive in Thailand with COVID, you can't teach STUPID
It is not (anymore). Flew in on the 11th without a fit-to-fly cert. The requirement was scrapped from the 1st April.

Thai borders are open, and have been for months. Granted, there are a few more hoops to jump through. Mainly getting the CoE and quarantine on arrival. I am just about to finish my second quarantine since the Covid <deleted> started and the process this time around was a lot smoother compared to last year. Getting the visa took me 2 days, getting the CoE about a week.

Where are you guys getting this info from?
Most likely a combination of boredom and an overstimulated imagination.

Did you read the "review" by Kai Lewis on your ASQ hotel today on facebook group "ASQ in Thailand"? He claims that hotel is a nightmare. I dare not post it here, because you know why.
Nope, haven't read it. Just did a quick search in the FB group but couldn't find a single negative review about the BDMS Wellness Resort. Perhaps it's about a different place? Did a quick search on Google as well and was not able to find anything negative. Anyhow, a single negative review wouldn't bother me. Especially since I have already done my ASQ at this resort last year and there's tons and tons of 4/5 star reviews to be found.

I was looking at it at Agoda and it looked pretty nice. But as I said in another thread , they all look nice in the pictures.
I am glad to hear from someone who has actually stayed there. It looks like they have a rooftop restaurant, or sitting area. Did you have a chance to visit it?
I read that after April 1st those vaccinated, after three days stay, would have unlimited access to hotel grounds.so we would like to stray at a place with nice grounds. Good to hear that you like the
amenities
I did not see where they say anything about a balcony. Do all the rooms have a balcony? .
You might want to double check and make sure you're looking at the right hotel. I believe there's two, maybe three Movenpick places in Bangkok that offer ASQ services. The one we're discussing here is called Movenpick DBMS Wellness Resort. It does not have a rooftop since it is a low-rise building (5 floors if I am not mistaken). Before it became the BDMS Wellness Resort, it was a Swissotel and before that the Hilton (going way back).
This being an older hotel (although recently completely renovated, so it feels new), it has a pretty big garden considering it's located in central BKK (close to Wireless Road) and yes, the hotel grounds are very nice, and big enough to stroll around for half an hour every day.
Every room in this hotel has a balcony, including the smaller rooms.

Do you have information regarding what you can and cannot do while in quarantine at Movenpick?
This is goin to be my second ASQ visit at this place (was there last year October as well) Overall, the experience was pretty good, given the circumstances. Staff was excellent and very helpful (this includes the medical staff as well). Food was pretty good as well; good quality and portions and pretty hot most of the time (with an occasional exception). Main reason I went with Movenpick was the large rooms, combined with large balconies, and I had no regrets there. Room size was 74sqm with separate living room and bed room, two bathrooms.
What you can and can not do would be pretty much the same as in most other ASQ places I guess; no alcohol (although bags are not checked when checking in, make of that what you will), limited outside food (I believe you can order from the mall next door; however the in-house food service was so good I did not have desire to order additional food). You can order room server and stuff from the coffee shop. Outdoor time is allowed after the first negative test result (5 days in for me if I remember correctly). Outdoor area is pretty massive, large pool and garden area where you can walk around for 30 minutes a day. They now also allow you to rent fitness equipment in your room (I paid 9k or so for a threadmil for the whole period). Balcony access is allowed from day 0, but with face mask (not really enforced though).

Indeed, no law has changed yet it appears. I have a ASQ reservation for the 11th of April and checked with the hotel a few days back. They confirmed no official changes are implemented and as far as they know, the 14 day requirement is still in effect (this is the Movenpick BDMS Wellness resort in BKK). If the requirements change, they will change the reservation. Not holding my breath though...

I haven't actively traded any Bitcoin since early 2014.
That's probably way beyond his comprehension. These "experts" can only think binary; it's either everything or nothing. The fact that Bitcoin has been the single best performing asset of the last decade is simply ignored to support their simplistic narratives.

With respect, this is the dumbest thing anyone has said in this thread.
Not a “dumb” thing to say at all. Perhaps you should do your own research before suggesting others to dig deeper.
Whether you like it or not, fiat pegged stablecoins have been growing in adoption faster than any other crypto currency. In fact Tether settles more transactions at the moment than Bitcoin does. USDC is not far behind.
I consider this to be a good thing though... this might very well be the only way for crypto in general to gain mainstream adoption. In addition, these stablecoins function as an on-ramp
into the world of DeFi.

Institutions may "participate" in some way as long as they can make money - for example, helping people "store" (hoard) or maybe trade it. Will bitcoin be used for transactions? Not really - not as long as there's an expectation that its price in real currencies will keep going up. That's the real appeal here. Bitcoin enthusiasts won't use it for transactions.
Who cares, honestly? Why the need to continue hammering on the fact that Bitcoin does not (currently) work as a currency. Who gives a <deleted>? It's has proven itself to be a store of value and has reached mainstream adoption through that path. By doing so, it has opened the door for other crypto solutions to improve on Bitcoins shortfalls as a currency. There's a variety of stablecoins out there today that have the potential to serve as currency (some might argue that Tether, USDC, DAI are already doing so).
Believe it or not, the crypto world is larger than just Bitcoin. It's proven itself useful for a variety of solutions, in particular Decentralized Finance (currently TVL north of $40 billion).

Such a clever man you are. Knows better than some of the biggest financial institutions in the world. Since you are so well informed, it is safe to assume you have taken a huge short position against Bitcoin, eagerly waiting to cash in your millions of "real" money when Bitcoin finally (really, any day now...) comes crashing down?

Show us a way out if you have one.
You get on a plane and leave. It does not get much simpler really... Even given the current circumstances, there are still plenty of flights leaving the country. So if you're desperate to get out, there is nothing standing in your way.

@recom273 Thanks; appreciate the reply. We haven't seen the snake since that night. But if experience is anything to go by, he'll pop back up soon enough. We now have two numbers we can call; both regular rescue foundations. If you'd be able to get us an animal specific rescue foundation, that would be very much appreciated.

That’s as maybe and like you a big room is very important, that is why I usually take a suite with separate bedroom, lounge, and kitchen. So I can cook my own food if I want, and usually never pay more than 2,000 baht including breakfast in four star hotels around Sukhumvit area, and much cheaper than that in and around Ekamai.
But many can not afford to pay 70,000 plus for 14 nights in a government ripoff plus all the additional costs imposed on them for documents, testing and visa.
This is not that they are cheap Charlie’s, it is more likely that they are hard working people who have saved hard and just want a holiday to enjoy the culture and food of the land of smiles, or see their wives and children but a 70,000baht stab in the back is to say the least unfair.
The government demands that travellers to Thailand get COVID tested before getting on the plane and again on arrival so the need for a 14 day quarantine is un-necessary when 5 to 7 days is more than enough, on top of which if the government want this length of time it should at least pay 50% of the cost, these people are after all coming to Thailand to spend every penny they have saved in the way that they want to spend it.
Not everybody is as lucky as you and I, we can afford these costs but If the government wants me to jump through many unrealistic and virtually impossible hoops to spend a little happy time with my long term girlfriend it could at least soften the landing
We can quibble about prices all day... but that doesn't do anybody any good.
The Thai government is free to put whatever, no matter how ridiculous they seem to some people, barriers and requirements up for people entering their country. They're free to decide this for themselves, as any other country in the world is.
IMO, anybody jumping through these hoops in order to "vacation" in Thailand needs their head examined. If you want to enjoy a holiday, go elsewhere. Thailand is not the place for that right now. If you have other reasons to be here, be it family or business, you accept the requirements and comply. If you consider them unfair; stay home or go elsewhere.
All this arguing about how ridiculous the requirements are and everybody having an opinion on what Thailand should be doing is growing really old, really fast. We all know Thailand is a semi-dictatorship, run by some of the most incompetent people on the planet. So expecting them to handle the situation based on rational thinking, science, or anything other than the direction the wind is blowing today is a waste of time and energy ...
Finally, I'd like to point out there's plenty of cheaper options available... I believe as cheap as 30k for a small room in some questionable hotel on the outskirts of Bangkok. Nobody forces anyone to take the more expensive options. And suggesting the government pays for half of these costs.... you can't be serious?

We had a python in the backyard, tangled in the netting of the neighbour's chicken run. It was the emergency rescue people who dealt with it. They carefully cut the netting to free the snake caught it, bagged it, and took it away. Neighbour had just wanted to hack it to pieces with a machete, but these guys did a good job. Wife says you phone 1163 once you navigate the auto answer system and get to talk to someone they'll organise a team to come get your snake.
Thanks @Stocky, that's very helpful. We will give that number a try.

Uhm, compared to the rather steep increases we have seen last week? Not quite sure why we would be comparing anything to Vietnam or Taiwan.
