Used Good Karma (on the above link) numerous times for supplements, health foods, non-toxic detergents, etc. Always delivered excellent quality with delivery within a few days. Not exactly cheap, but excellent quality.

That sound very good ... how old are you both? Four years ago when we were 59 and 69 our policy with PPP had risen to £8,800pa and was rising about 15%/year and we had been with them for many years ... that only covered in patient and things like MRI etc
I am 37; my wife’s 36.

Good luck trying to find a Thai insurance policy where you are actually fully covered...
Really not that hard to find. I am on an Aetna policy (formerly Bupa) and pay about 65.000b per year for myself and my (Thai) wife. Covers up to a max of 5,000,000b per disability; which in reality would cover about 95% of cases. Daily room/boarding of 12.000 per night which has allowed to use the best rooms available in Bangkok hospitals without any additional pay.

My wife and myself went through this a few weeks back, and the whole thing was extremely easy and fast.
I am Dutch myself (and have been living in Thailand for about 15 years). My wife holds a multi year Schengen visa and has several other visas in her passport. We filled out the application online and scheduled an appointment at the embassy in Bangkok a few weeks later.
After arriving at the embassy things appeared rather chaotic and a large crowd (consisting mostly of students) was gathering and waiting outside. I waited around for about half an hour or so and then went to grab a coffee. About an hour later, my wife was done and had her visa approved (she received a ten year tourist visa).
During the interview the IO was mostly interested in our relationship and my business interests in the US. Zero interest in the itinerary, hotel bookings, flight tickets, bank accounts, etc. It is my understanding that in similar cases, the IO’s have little interest in supporting documents and simply use the interview to verify the information provided during the online application.
As long as you fill out the application truthfully and have your wife repeat the same during the interview, I’d be surprised if she wouldn’t get the visa.
Good luck!!

Have your wife apply at the US embassy in Bangkok for a B1/2 visitor visa.

Before responding to this; perhaps take a moment and realize it's April the 1st today?

Most plastic bags at markets are so thin , they weigh next to nothing, so not much plastic and easy to burn. Nearly all food items at the market need to go in a plastic bag.
This has got to be the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time. You honestly believe that, simply because the bags are thin, they do not pose a huge problem? Nothing sold at a typical Thai market NEEDS to go in a plastic bag; this is just a lame excuse not to get our of your comfort zone and doing what's right.
As pointed out by many posters, fruit and veggies can easily go into a canvas shopping bag. Food and other "wet" stuff can go in either reusable ziplock bags or contains (tin, stainless, tupperware, etc) you bring from home.
People seem to forget that, not even that long ago, people were shopping at markets without using a single plastic bag.

Coinbase does the trick for me. There's many of them; so take your pick. I prefer an established one backed by VC as some of the smaller new ones do sometimes crash and burn. And make sure you don't hold your coins in wallets at the exchange; instead transfer them to a private wallet right away.

There's some godawful dwellers on these forums. The OP obviously is having a serious crisis, and why some people see the need to piss all over this guy and post some gnarly replies is beyond me. If you don't have anything constructive to contribute, then why bother? Crack open another Chang and go make other people miserable.
To the OP, unfortunately I don't have anything useful for you. If I would have found myself in your position, I would probably use whatever resources I have left to leave the country ASAP. If need be, without a passport.

I owned one as well. In very good condition as well, built in a LPG tank as these things guzzle fuel like you wouldn't believe. Sold mine for 150k about 7 years back, which was a fair price back then. If you're seriously interested, you should definitely bring down the price. I'd say 125k is reasonable, 175k definitely is not.
All that said; I would not recommend anyone to get this car. Although it did great off-road, it's a horrible ride on regular roads. It's a heavy car, with a tiny engine which adds additional problems. And no matter how well it's been maintained, with this car at the mentioned age, you will be looking at frequent repairs. I had the car for around four years and easily spend 100k on fixes. If you're not fuzzy or like to tinker with cars yourself, it might be a good car to get (if you can get it a fair price) but if you're looking for a convenient, no-hassle car, I would look at something else. With the mentioned budget you'll have better options.

I suppose that the China government ask for help in stopping them.
That's an odd statement to make just after Thai authorities clearly stated the Chinese gentlemen weren't doing anything wrong and there won't be any consequences. But by all means, do keep beating that drum!

I'd say that's it's possible that people are just fed up with the horrible crap that passes as local beer in this country. There seems to be a booming business around craft beers and all, even with the ridiculous import taxes imposed on these proper beers. Our supermarket seems to carry an ever growing selection of solid quality beers (all imported) and they seem to sell pretty well.
While craft beers are huge in virtually every country on this planet; Thailand seems more interested in protecting the local beer monopoly. People will vote with their wallets...

Doesn't Thailand do exactly the same thing? Isn't that why European car brands are sold at insane prices here?

MOST importantly, whilst they do receive real data form some locations, they MODEL the rest, the numbers are therefore theoretical rather than real: https://www.airvisual.com/about
A quick look out the window, or stepping outside for a not-so-fresh breath of air would tell anyone with half a brain that there's definitely truth in the OP. Combine this with the readings on https://aqicn.org/city/thailand/chiangmai---cmis/ and I'd say it's pretty clear that Chiang Mai is a solid contender for the worlds shittiest air.
However, if believing everyone is full of it and Chiang Mai's got nothing but clear blue skies makes you sleep better at night, by all means keep at it.

Excellent achievement Thailand; hats off! Next to finally achieving that much coveted number 1 position with the world's most deadliest roads; Thailand now also offers the world's shittiest air.
Let's go for the hat-trick and bring in another number 1 position. Maybe the highest number of tourist deaths? Or the highest number of rabies infections?

Buying a dog from a market is bad idea; if only for the simple reason you're supporting the horrible puppy mill operations that produce these poor dogs. If you want a pure bred dog, go find yourself a decent breeder.

For domestic travel, I would recommend air travel. All airlines, including budget airlines, will transport dogs in the cargo hold. Contact the airlines to get current prices.

Most Thai hospitals charge 50-60bht to see the doctor ........ 800bht/time seems a little high.
Blood tests are 100bht (why would you have a blood test for a m/c accident?)
X-ray 100bht, ultrasound 250bht. I/V under 10bht/bag
I can only price the stuff I was billed.
Dunno about the rest.
Perhaps some public hospitals in Nakorn Nowhere charge those prices, but definitely not privates ones. We typically pay 600-800b for a doctor visit, depending on which specialist. All the other prices can easily be multiplied by 10 when using a decent private facility.

My MIL had three injections and I know one person who received 2. I don't know why the treatment varied but in both cases a couple of hundred baht and not the thousands some people claim to have paid.
When taking the full treatment at a private hospital, the total cost can definitely into the thousands of baht. Last treatment I had at Bangkok Hospital (Hatyai) was over 10.000 baht. This was at the emergency room and included cleaning the wound and a number of injections (most directly into the wound, rather painful experience).

This is stuff is rough. On the one hand, this guy a total moron for not taking out travel insurance. On the other hand, you can't help but feel bad this guy's family. I try and imagine something like this happening to one of my brothers. I'd also try and do everything in my power to get them the help they need... I'd use my own money for sure. If that's not enough? Beg for money online maybe?

Unfortunately, staying inside won't change anything unless you've got some sort of air-filtering system in place. PM2.5 <deleted> gets in pretty much anywhere. Either a proper air purifier with a good EPA/HEPA filter or adding additional filters to room AC units will offer some relief though.
