  1. We all know that drugs are not allowed in Thailand. We've to respect that.

So you are on your bike (motorcycle) its after 12pm, your accompanied by your lady for hire, you've drunk copious amounts of beer beforehand....neither of you are wearing helmets. You stop off for some street side som-tam, further alcholic refreshments and smoke a few cigarettes while you are at it....Then its back to yours with your bint to finish the night off with some bedroom gymnastics (maybe some Viagra chucked in to the mix) while watching a couple of pirated porno DVDs you bought on the street.

So if you wake up in the morning feeling guilty just repeat these lines in penance...

We all know pornography is illegal in Thailand. We've to respect that.

We all know prostitution is illegal in Thailand. We've to respect that.

We all know not wearing a helmet is illegal in Thailand. We've to respect that.

We all know drinking on the street is illegal in Thailand. We've to respect that.

We all know smoking in public places is illegal in Thailand. We've to respect that.

We all know buying prescription drugs over the counter is illegal in Thailand. We've to respect that.

We all know buying pirate DVDs is illegal in Thailand. We've to respect that!!!

    <deleted> OPEN YOUR EYES!

    and your point is??????????? .....

    DUDE! D-O Y-O-U W-A-N-T M-E T-O S-P-E-L-L I-T O-U-T T-O ? OK..... THOSE THAT LIVE IN GLASS HOUSES SHOULD NOT CALL A GAMEKEEPER BLACK!

I think he's trying to say, these things are actually, illegal. :)

  2. Thai has lost the plot. They have recently increased fares whilst other airlines have reduced theirs. For the last four years I've been making 5-6 trips a year on TG in first class to Europe. Not any more. Changes to ROP rewards and the "we're Thai you farang you not understand thai people" attitude means I'm saving myself 100 - 120 000 baht RT and flying Etihad biz. Flat seat is just as comfortable as TG first (TG biz is a joke). OK no third rate caviar but 120k baht buys alot on the ground. And noone's gonna arrest you for using reading lights either......

Typical 'Thai Logic' there... When business is bad put the price up! Makes sense doesn't it!?

  3. Sad news, I'd always assumed that the reason for two daily 747-400 flights to LHR, was that eventually there would be just one daily A380, with cheaper-fares & competitive-quality again, and the same would be true for other core-routes to Europe/Aussie/USA.

But this is probably a sensible financial step, for a failing 2nd-rate airline, which seems to have lost its way strategically. One supposes that the government has made it clear, the cheque-book is not unlimited, at least until Thai Airways can demonstrate that they can organise a drinks-party in a brewing-establishment. :)

Also this may help Airbus catch-up on previously-delayed deliveries to the likes of Singapore, Qantas & Emirates or Qatar, who can put these beautiful aircraft to good use, like carrying people to Bangkok at-a-profit ! :D

How do you plan to fit 700 passengers on a plane that only seats 460? The A380 only has 100 more seats than a 747-400

In a in single-class configuration (economy) the airbus A380 has seating for 853 passengers, but it is up to the airlines to decide their chair/class/freight configuration.

Evacuation tests were done with 853 passengers + crew.

    http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Singapore...Airbus_A380.php

I count 471 seats altogether, maybe they tested evacuation etc with this many people on board, but this plane cannot carry 853 passengers in service.

  5. In my opinion there's far too much on the roads already. Bangkok needs to concentrate on real infrastructure like MRT and BTS lines, even if it takes 10 + years to complete the network. The last thing BKK needs is more buses...

  6. Not true, Tyree.

What I think you mean is that it's hard for the type of uneducated and unskilled farang coming here to make a decent living.

I'm currently trying to hire for two roles - a marketing communications manager and a business development manager - for a large international organisation. Both roles are covering a number of offices in South East Asia. Both can be based in Bangkok.

Both attract salaries of around 150-180,000 per month, but I'm buggered if I can find anyone half decent.

Hey Bendix, Do those positions also provide 'housing allowance', 'car allowance', and very little travel? If so PM me as I am sure I have all the qualifications.... But on the other hand, these wages are not above what I'm making now so why should I quit my current position? By the way, who really wants to live in BKK?

P.M me for an interview Bendix, I'm sure I have the minerals to fill your position(s).

    Dawg

  7. As my bankaccount resources are not endless. And I want to stay a longer while in Thailand and change my visum. What are the best options for a foreigner like me to make good money in Thailand?

I'm still looking for this breaktrough... anybody got some good tips?

Dress up in the pictured outfit. Hang about the Loi Kroh road in Chiang Mai after 8.00pm any night of the week convenient for you.

    You're make a fortune.

Ha Ha, I was gonna say the same, but hang around the Silom soi 2 area...

  8. Waht I cant understand is how they have been in business still since 2001... send them back to Iran where they'll get a dose they'll never forget.Oh, and I love the look on those two cops faces; look like there loving every minute of it !

  9. Thai politicians are loyal to one thing and that's their bank balance. They will suck up to whoever gets them the biggest payback and up to now they've all believed it was Thaksin that filled the boots. Now there are seeds of doubt in the ranks and they are desperately seeking a new ticket to the feeding trough. Anyone, or anything wll do just as long as they get there and most of these people would sell their mother's soul to the devil to achieve their aims and pad out their pockets.

    Right on target. :o

    Bang on ! nice post

  10. #1 drug = Tobacco

    #2 drug = Alcohol

    #3 drug = Cannabis

This kind of sentence makes no sense at all, when governments allow the sale of cigarettes and alcohol which takes far many more lives than soft drugs like dope. Heroin is another matter; but the death sentence?? A good long jail term is punishment enough... and hanging!? I couldn't think of a more barbarous and inhumane way of ending someones life.

  11. Not all farang are tourists. Some are Thai citizens.

    So you know them

I know white skinned Thai citizens, yes - my daughters for a start.

This thread is stupid. Imagine the UK conservative party saying no Asian looking people can join or Obama's party saying noone of Chinese origin can join.

The sooner "farang" are stopped looked upon as the stupid mindless tourist, the better.

Totally agree with you there. How long have we been coming to this country now? For two or three or more generations we've been settling here. Not saying I agree with the Farang protesters, but I can sort of understand it if they have family and half thai kid's etc. Thailands not gonna be Thai Thai forever.

  12. Thailand made it very clear to me they said I am only a guest here so what happens here is none of my business

what is my business is what Thailand banks gives me for my USD and I am tired of paying for inflated over valued Baht

maybe these riots will bring the true value of the baht

Here Here! Let's have 70 baht to the pound, and $2 to the pound again.... :o
