  1. Hi, im looking to buy a russian minsk or a trail bike whilst in bangkok to go and explore the region a little bit, I was wondering if any of you guys new where I could buy one and roughly what I would be looking to pay for the Minsk, not really looking to go above the £400 mark, any help would be much appreciated

You might be able to get a Honda Wave for 400 pounds. Not sure if you'll get what your looking for with that budget.

    Cheers

  2. A friend of mine (farang) turns over 1 Million baht a month on ebay he has a slick operation running 14 girls on computers a photo studio for taking pictures of products. many sewing houses etc wish i could get a small portion of his monthly income LOL :o

hard to believe.. tell us his ebay name(s) so we can all check it out/his feedback(s) etc..

Very hard to believe, i think you are full of s*%t!!

  3. Ebay is dead now mate, like most people are saying it was good 5 years ago. Now there is too much competition, and often it is the actual suppliers retailing on there, whom it is impossible to compete with. i.e you won't be able to make a profit after shipping. Also, like someone else was saying, the market is flooded with cheap junk from China. The only thing Ebay is good for these days is for pulling in eyes and then redirecting them to your website.

It's a shame because i used to make 600 quid a week profit on an average week 5 years ago. Now its not worth the time and energy...

    Cheers

  4. Only a complete idiot would act the way he did. Can't feel sorry for him even though the sentence is rather harsh, in fact it is rather funny.

How the hel_l is that funny??? The guy might have family. There are so many arse licking westeners here now, just because the thought of all these women taken away from them is a nightmare. The detainment is way too harsh for voicing an opinion. Anyone that lives here knows that this is no more than a show of power because the guy come from a wealthier country and is probably more wealthy.

Too right, you have to respect the culture and the way things are over here, but there is an increasing number of farang who just kiss Thai ass to the point it makes be embarrassed to watch. As I'm in the teaching game over here I see these kind of people trying to pucker-up their way to the top and there's just no need for it.

  5. Rather than taking the opportunity to take a swipe at the Thai approach to the problem of the Rohingya people can anyone suggest an alternative? These are an Islamic people. They were heading for an Islamic nation. Send them to Malaysia or Indonesia? Do they want them?

Do you want them going to the UK, Australia, US etc?

No I thought not. So, what to do? Send them on? Send them to the Muslem insurgents in the south of Thailand? Send them back?

How many Brits would like to send teh Muslems in the UK back to Arabic states?

See, it isn't as clear cut as you think.

Might as well send them to the U.K so they can be with their brothers

  6. Walked through this area many a time, and never felt threatened in the slightest. I think it was alot worse a few decades ago. I'd be more scared walking through Chapel Town in Leeds, or Kings Cross in London at night.

  7. , good thing i haven't met my parents in hong kong and taken them to bangkok next theyd be thinking "jeez, this place is a frigging dump".

Yeah, what a stroke of luck you never met your parents in Hong Kong and took them to Bangkok, maybe they would wonder why you CHOOSE to stay in Bangkok instead of Hong Kong. :D

Care to enlighten me also ? :D

hopefully, in a 5 or 6 years I can trade my suk 24 condo for an orchard road condo.

    :o:D

It's a classic, considering he said that we are all deluded in an earlier post.

I'm sure that this guy has been living on Ko san road the whole time he's been here! Bangkok is actually a very nice place when you get out into the suburbs. I live in Lad Prao, lovely area.

Sure, move to Tokyo, Seoul, or Singapore but you'll need 8 times the money you need to live here....

  8. There always seems to be this comparison with Thailand, Japan and Korea. :o

Put it into perspective. In Korea you are going to be getting a salary of US$ 2,500 per month plus. That is 80,000 Baht a month. In Thailand they will pay you 30,000 Baht a month and refuse to pay for holidays which means you get a salary for 9 months of the year. That equates to 22,500 Baht a month.

    Korea : 80,000 Baht a month

    Thailand : 22,500 Baht a month

Who gets the most qualified teachers? You don't need to be a brain surgeon to work it out. :D Add on all the new costs in Thailand. Cultural course, new education course pay for your work permit. All in all you are going to have to spend another 60,000 Baht to earn your 22,500 Baht a month. Does that make financial sense?

You can earn more than 22500 baht a month in Thailand, if you wanted to work the hours you could probably make 80,000 if you put your mind to it. Good money in Korea but they work you hard for it, and its very expensive to do anything. I'd say Thailand makes good financial sense if you get off your arse and put in the hrs!
