Really? The city is dead, completely dead. Hardly any tourists so shouldn't be a problem. Went to the Night Bazaar the other night around 20:00. There were 2 tables occupied at the Kalare Food Center. 2! Most vendors were packing up and closing shop it was so dead. I've never seen anything like it in all the years. Everywhere else we went was dead too.
Maybe everybody was getting an early start at immigration!!

Seems Aung San Suu Kyi has the answer to dealing with these people.

Had this from a Facebook contact, anybody have any further details?
" Heard from a few people who were at airport immigration office recently that as of today (28 Nov), all immigration services will be moved to Promenada because of renovations at the Chiang Mai Airport immigration. The renovations will last 2 years. Haven't seen any official notice. Anyone know anything about this? "

As this topic is 'Chiang Mai Immigration" specific it should be in the Chiang Mai Forum ?
The concept of standardization of rules as regards Thai Immigration is a leap too far, everything is "my patch" based at officer and location level.

What!! You mean the actions of the white man, the empire builders, the civilizers did not work! They didn't improve the lot of those savage natives by dragging and forcing (at the point of a bayonet) them to emulate the high society. industry and education of the first world! Why is the world going backwards in quality of life and consuming everything in its path? I think we might have been better off without the industrial revolution.
Certainly better off without the internet which brings us daily the woes of the World, yet i cannot turn it off, 555.

Not really. English isn't perfect, should be vehicles or licenses. Other minor errors too, although to be fair excellent for a second language person.
Tanat, you will be fine, no need to worry. There is a wealth of information and advice on this forum.. Good luck, and welcome to CM
Just curious as to why a Thai would ask about living in Hang Dong on an English language web site rather than talk to Thais who have a far greater knowledge of lodgings in the area.

A poor effort at a troll even by TV standards
"In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the intent of provoking readers into an emotional ..."
Which part/s of the OP do you consider trolling?

" I'm Thai and living in BKK. "
" I don't own any vehicles and licenses "
Yet you write very good English?
Something doesn't add up!!

And assuming the staff that were at the Airport Immigration will be re-located to Promenada (is that a stupid assumption I ask myself) where will they sit , maybe outside with the rabble?
