    You say:

    "A little testy Davy boy"

    Not really.

I asked a simple question of a poster who had said:

"They are 100% incorrect this not required everywhere"

I would have thought it fairly obvious that I am not interested in 10 or 5 or 1 year ago but recently, in CNX.

If posters don't know what they are talking about maybe better to remain silent and let people think they are stupid, than to open their mouths and confirm it?

Key word "everywhere". You need to go back and learn reading comprehension. whistling.gif Now its Monday tomorrow, amphurs are open so get off your keyster and do some contacting of offices. facepalm.gif Poster have tried to help you.coffee1.gif

So tell me just ONE place that you KNOW that does not now require it, or you just blowing smoke ?

  3. As at 15/01/16 both Hang Dong and the main Muang Amphur office required a certified Thai translation of my UK passport.

Was told that is is now required everywhere, but then they would say that wouldn't they!

Something to do with slave trading, those bad bad frang.

  4. The whole structure of Thai politics is that of a group of "Robber Barons", each operating there own feudal turf for the betterment of themselves and their cronies.

It is complete "Silo" management, cooperation infers lose of face and power.

There really is little hope for improvement in this country whilst the existing power structures remain, and it will take a far far stronger man than the the one in charge this week to change things.

"Cometh the hour cometh the man", but he has not come yet!

You asked what was in it for me.

The benefit to me will be knowing that when I pass away; she; as my legally married wife, will be eligible for 50% of my UK company pension for the rest of her life, and also able to claim the UK Government Widows Benefit which will be enough for a good "piss up" to see me on my way.

Not a great deal of money to many on here but then everything is relative, for her it will be a great source of comfort in her old age.

We have been together for over 5 years now, her health is failing and she has had to stop working, any reassurance about her future that I can give her is "what's in it for me".

  6. Can anybody advise of the required documents on my side for marriage at the Hang Dong Amphur.

I know about the need for an "Affirmation to Marry", translated and authenticated, how about my passport translated and authenticated, Language Corner suggested it would be needed, just wanted to check.

Many thanks and a Happy New Year to all.

PS: Yes I know I will be sorry etc..............................
