  1. Hello, so you don't have to go in person to the embassy? Sounds interesting.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Correct, there is no need to attend the embassy, i.e. Present your passport and docs on arrival at the hotel, collect either the next day or the day after at approx 1500 from the hotel office. Obviously timing depends on when you actually check in. If you check in the hotel in the morning you will receive you passport duly stamped with the appropriate visa the following day. One night's accommodation B1,999.

  2. For those that are interested, the following is the breakdown together with details of the Savanvegas visa run package.

For the last few years I have had a multiple non-immigrant O visa (married to a Thai) and have now changed to an ED visa.

Bangkok (Don Muang) to Nakhon Pathom flying with AirAsia return...........2,419

Hotel transport from Nakhon Pathom to Savanvegas hotel round trip.........2,000

    Three nights hotel accommodation..............................................................3,400

    Laos visa......................................................................................................1,030 (US $35)

    ED visa.........................................................................................................2,000

    Total..........................................................................................................B10,849

On arrival at Nakhon Pathom the hotel minibus was already waiting for us. The trip to Savannakhet was approx 90 minutes arriving at the hotel at 1500 hrs. The border crossing into Laos couldn't have been any easier.

On arrival at the hotel I completed and signed the relevant visa application form together with original passport, copy and photo(s) and in my case the necessary school documents (Ministry of Education) to obtain an ED visa. I also paid to reception B1,000 security deposit which was returned to me on my departure.

The hotel provides you with a voucher for a free 60 minute massage together with a B500 match play voucher. The only drawback with the match play voucher is that you have to add a further B500 cash in order to play. The massage was excellent.

I could find no fault with the hotel accommodation having all the necessary furnishings in their spacious rooms.

All meals (three daily) are free and you will never go hungry.

    Fast internet in all rooms,

On the second day at approx 1500 hrs, I collected my passport from the hotel office which included my 90 day ED visa.

From now on all 90 day extensions will be applied for at the relevant immigration dept. In my case at Chaeng Wattana.

I was accompanied on this trip so therefore double the airfare.

The one and only drawback is that you are more or less confined to the hotel as there are no shops/entertainment/sightseeing immediately outside the hotel complex. There are tuktuks available at a fixed charge of B300 to the local market, duty free shop (very cheap for liquor/cigs, etc), sightseeing, etc, although you can barter which I did and reduced the price to B200.

Any further information you require in respect of the Sevenvegas visa package trip, please do not hesitate to ask.

  3. Hi bobroper,

I also use the same website iii.co.uk and I get the same annoying problem, maybe its their bug.

Anyway I have found a way around it and that is a site thats displays the feed from iii.co.uk and lse.co.uk:

    http://www.discussthemarket.com/gkp-stream/

This site dislays live streams from both bb sites, which i fnd better. You can toggle the lse.co.uk site stream on/off if you dont want it.

If you want to post (on iii) you will still need to open up the iii.co.uk site.

    Regards

    Hi CR

Yes, I already knew that site existed.

I do post quite a lot on III, so really 'discuss the markets' is not needed.

Have tried all the possible solutions outlined above with no joy so I have decided to stick with chrome and forget IE, etc.

  4. Perhaps update your IE9 to current version? IE10 became an important update first week of this month.

    Hi lopburi

Have already tried that without success. It's not only IE9/10 that doesn't refresh that one webpage but also Firefox. The only browser I can use is as I mentioned, Chrome. A complete mystery.

    Thanks for your input.

  5. I'm with True and have been for many years.

Using IE9, I am unable to REFRESH just one website unless I use my UK 'myexpatnet'

IF I USE GOOGLE CHROME, I HAVE NO PROBLEM THE PAGE REFRESHES AT ALL TIMES, I.E. I DO NOT NEED TO USE 'MYEXPATNET'

There must be a simple answer.

    The website in question is:

    http://www.iii.co.uk/investment/detail?code=cotn:GKP.L&display=discussion

For you information, I have cleared the cache, temporary files, etc, etc. etc.

    Anybody please?

  6. Hi

There are three rental apartment blocks in Bangkhae which is only a very short walk/ride away from Thamasat Rangsit. Motorbike maybe 2 minutes (10-20 baht). Ask at the campus and they will probably give you the same reply.

Future is about 20 minutes away. Yellow (AC) bus number 510 (Victory Monument - Future Park - Thamasat.

GL whatever you decide to do.

  7. I have just purchased a GoLive S1 mobile but for the life of me I cannot download the required driver(s) when I connect to pc via USB cable.

I have searched for the required driver(s) online but no luck.

Has anybody purchased one of these devices and have had the same problems?

  8. Just a quick one.

I am currently on a multi non immigrant O visa which ends in May. Can I go to say Penang and obtain a tourist visa and how long does that last? If I can do this, will I have any problem transferring from a tourist visa on expiry to a non-imm O visa?

I intend to travel to the UK later this year and obtain another multi non imm O in Hull.

  9. Having processed a couple of 90 day reporting by mail to Sam Khok immigration, my wife is now booked to fly to Penang shortly with AirAsia.

She (my wife) will use her British passport to exit Thailand at Don Muang and therefore cancel the one year Thai visa.

Enter and exit Penang on her Thai passport.

All I am concerned about is that when she enters Thailand she will not have a TM47.

    Comments please.

  10. Have checked on Truevisions and the relatively new TrueLife (no monthly fees) but all the packages appear to be in the Thai language and yes, I know I can call the call centre.

I reside in Pathumthani and all I require is satellite showing Thai channels. I myself am not interested in English channels as I rarely watch TV.

My question is therefore, can anyone recommend a satellite supplier whether it be TrueVisions, TrueLife (one time payment) or any other provider?

    Thanks.

  11. This might seem to be an unusual question but I will ask anyway only to reassure myself that it can be done.

I live very close to Don Muang IA which as we know is served by AirAsia.

I have a friend who lives in KL whom I visit often.

Is it possible to say book with AA 12 monthly trips to KL and each time enter Thailand on a 30 day non-exempt (I understand that the 90 day rule has been discontinued)? Round trips to KL with AA are approx B4,500. Yearly airfares would cost approx B54,000.

This action may appear unusual and it may be possible that on one of those monthly trips, Thai immigration may refuse you entry or ask questions considering the amount of stamps in your passport.

Before you ask, I am currently on a 12 months (extendable to 15) non-immigrant O visa (obtained from KL) which expires June of next year and yes, I understand what I action I take with this kind of visa but it's the above 30 day non-exempt I require answers to.

    Regards
