This site falsely poses as a goverment approved website. This website was designed for the sole purpose of fraudulently extracting funds from unsuspecting travellers. This website is illegal and the website developers should be jailed. End of story. -

We will have to agree to disagree on that one (smile). -
Travel Rising Prices, Broken Systems Dim Thailand’s Tourist Charm
riverhigh replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
It's all relative. Yes things are getting more expensive in Thailand but compared to my home country, and neighboring countries, people can only dream of paying so little for accomodation, dining out, taxi services, etc. Cost of airflights is a universal problem not a problem specific to Thailand. For what it's worth, travellers need to reduce their expectations of travelling to Thailand to meet the new world realities. While prices are going through the roof in the traveller's home country, there is this "fantasy" expectation that Thailand should reduce the value of the Thai baht and keep prices low just for them (smile). -
Narcissistic youth! Typical bullies picking on smaller people and taking advantage of the situation. I despise these people. IMHO, the 35,000 baht fine and no legal action was far too lenient. Jail time and lifetime ban should have been added to the fine. Hope this video goes viral in their home country ... showing their families, freinds and potential employers what are bunch of losers they are. I doubt these losers have girlfriends but if they did they did they would be dumped shortly after seeing this video.

"Yet, the couple's exhibitionist antics continued shortly after, as they lounged naked on Ban Kai Beach, astonishing families enjoying the sunshine. Authorities swiftly instructed them to cover up, arresting the individuals under Thai law forbidding public indecency." From the article it appears that the couple had already been warned when they were on the road but shortly after took off their clothes when they were on the beach. Sorry to say, these young foreigners suffer from a combination of arrogrance, lack of awareness, and dumbness! Most people of average intelligence woud keep thier clothes on after being told by a group of armed policemen in a foreign country. I konw I would and I'm no Einstein!

Crime Irish Man Stabbed in Brutal Attack Outside Pattaya Condo
riverhigh replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
As correctly pointed out by many on this forum, this has nothing to do with the safety of living in Thailand. This appers to be the case of two uneducated foreign thugs of which one decides to take the law into his own hands. Do I care about the 34 year old injured foriegner? Not really ... if he was back in his home country earning an honest living this would never have happened. Unfortunately this reflects very poorly on us law abiding long term expats who are living off their savings from hard work. Would not surprise me if these two thugs are living off some kind of social assistance scam. -
Crime Russian Tour Guides in Hot Water Amid Phuket Police Sting

In my home country its not allowed for someone to come in on holiday and do a kitchen renovation instead. Thailand is doing what most other countries are doing ... job protection. -
Report Staggering 80% of Thai Army Conscripts Battling Drug Addiction
riverhigh replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
"This alarming trend points to a broader societal issue that spans beyond the military, highlighting the urgent need for comprehensive drug rehabilitation programs across the country." Recently I was at a relativley posh restaurant with a bunch of expats, a generation or two after me. Did I feel old! They talked about cocaine (crack) as if it was a candy bar you can purchase at you local 7-11. No stigma attached to purchasing or snorting crack. Just a part of modern life that I really don't want to participate in. I guess I will have to live in my dinasour-bubble. -
Crime Brit Caught with Cocaine Stash While Overstaying Visa on Samui
riverhigh replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
28 years old? Is it just me but when I saw his photo I thought he was in hes fifties. A warn out drug addict with no constructive goals in life. A real no-hoper! -
Same, same. Doesn't matter what kind of visa is issued there will always be some kind of abuse. IMHO, if they intend maintian all these different types of visas, the only real deterrent is life time bans and heavy fines. At least 25% of the people I know on the DTV are not using it for what it was intended for.

"The incident occurred around 02:00 on 21 April, along a downhill stretch of road at Khao Thon in Buprahm subdistrict, Na Di district, Prachinburi province." Ok let me write that down ... road at Khao Thon in Buprahm subdistrict. Another place in Thailand where I won't go for peronal health reasons. To the best of my knowledge, flames are not conducive to healthy living

Swedish Man Sparks Airport Bomb Alert with Unclaimed Luggage
riverhigh replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
"Mr Erik later admitted the suitcase was his, packed by a friend, and contained used clothes and Thai herbs for personal use." Total BS ... The idiot packed the case himself and was worried that the herbs were legal. Didn't know what he was buying from the street vendor. The all too familiar "Do you do anal, I'm asking for a friend". -
Thailand's AI Robocop Debuts at Songkran Water Festival
riverhigh replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Advanced Search Tools: Finds individuals based on specific facial features and other traits. Behaviour Monitoring: Keeps an eye out for signs of violence or physical aggression. Fine Collection and Negotiation: Under Development and soon to be released in Cyborg 2.0 My understanding is that the "Advanced Search Tools (facial recognition)" include the ability to differentiate between Foreigners and Thais. This feature is very important for police checkpoints to ensure who to pull over on the road for proper attire and documentaion investigation. "Behaviour Monitoring" includes foreign attire monitoring to ensure that Thai sensibilities and culture are not provoked. This is just as important as keepig an eye out for signs of violence or physical aggression. -
Thailand’s Songkran: 200 Deaths Mark '7 Dangerous Days' of Festival
riverhigh replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
"While the figures are concerning, there is a silver lining with 15 provinces recording zero fatalities, suggesting certain regions have managed to bolster road safety effectively." Let me guess Chonburi wasn't one of them. Pattaya will make sure (past, present or future) that Chonburi will never be a part of the zero fatalities siver lining. -
Missing Welshman Found After British Media Reported His Disappearance
riverhigh replied to webfact's topic in Krabi News
Reporting a missing child of 11 years or under is a high priority. Reporting a missing 26 year old baby adult is not. What a waste of resources. Looking at his appearance, he coulld go far with his good looks but instead likes to play the family issues victim. -
British Fugitive Arrested in Phuket After Violent Brawl in Bangkok
riverhigh replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Unfortunately us law-abiding long term expats who have lived here more than 20 years have to report to immigration every 90 days or when we travel because of idiots like ths 26 yaer old . The idiot thought if he went to Phuket he could enjoy the rest of his holiday and evade the police, should have cut his holiday short and crossed one of the land borders. -

Air India's High-Flyer Faces Bangkok Pee Probe: Chaos in Clouds
riverhigh replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This is clearly the fault of Air India for not posting clear and unambiguous signs in their business class section. if this sign had been posted, this unfortunate situation would have never have happened. -
Chinese Couple Arrested in Pattaya for Lewd Public Photo Shoot
riverhigh replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
Why did they pixel out the photo? How I am suppose to determine if this was a lewd sexual act or an inspirational cinematic masterpiece worthy of a Cannes Film festival award. For me to provide an objective and unbiased opinion, I need to see this video clip at least 3 times in the privacy of my room.
