  1. There are some goods ones, but this is just bad luck for him is all. HE was unfortunate enough to be in the line and had his taxi number recorded at Swampy, so was able to be traced quickly and called out, at which stage he had not choice but to return it really. Unless blatantly lying then hiding 2mill in cash on him. Then he gets a measly 5K reward, insulting... What bag? What money? that's the correct answer.... if they are dumb enough to leave 60G in a taxi, ce la vie

  2. The coin you are looking for is the 4att coin, let me know when you find one.

The other one recently in the media is the 1990 10 Baht bi-metal, of which only 20 or so were minted for the delegates of an expo. Mysteriously? disappearing from a locked vault at the treasury when checked.

More reasonably, the harder finds these days are the Millennium Dragon series issued in the year 2000, holographic coins with a dragon motif were snapped up by the Chinese and soon became quite rare even to today, when they only pop up every now and then. The set of them in good condition can run $1000+ for a few hundred bahts worth of coins.

my collection still has 5 holes in it.

I don't collect notes, maybe someone else will tell you.

Actually ... the truth is different then from what is being discussed thus far.

The ban has little to to do with issuing Visas.

    It specifically is ...

The Immigration Minister Scott Morrison has announced his department was cancelling temporary visas for people who had planned to visit Australia from the West African nations and said new visa applications would not be processed.

Permanent visa holders yet to arrive in Australia must undergo a 21-day quarantine process before departure.

Scott Morrison told parliament: "The government's systems and processes are working to protect Australians."

    Source

    Personally, I support this move.

It's smart politics because it's what the majority of Australians want (if the reports are to be believed).

Plus it reduces the risks for all Australians living in Australia.
    .

I wonder how many visas need to be canceled. I reckon all of about 5 people.

It's not a bad move in itself, but to my way of thinking it really is all for show. There have been requests from the US and the UK for Australia to provide resource to stop the spread, and this is the best we do?

Must be hard being a Thai-Aussie, you just don't know where to plant your hat do you? You bag Australia in every post and the 'Aussie Way', someone must have really done a number on you mate, wanna talk about it?

  4. There are always exceptions to the rule for processing times, we have seen before some granted in 7 months for medical reasons here in this thread. Unless something impending is not included in the application it will run its due course. If you read your book or investigated other visa types (some now extinct) you would know what these compelling things are and if they apply to you, you could use them to speed up the process. The last thing the Australian government wants is responsibility or bad press for something that they can be sued for or held accountable to.

Look in general if we see a drunken man spouting of and being a nuisance the vast majority of people will ignore him or tell him to go away. If there are a few of you and he gets rowdy, a little extra persuasion is sometimes necessary it is called proportionate actions. One skinny drunken man getting stuck in the sand to me would be quite a spectacle and if i say so quite amusing. Now irrespective of what he has said, putting the man in a comma is not proportionate to the situation these Thai lads may have encountered with this skinny drunken man on the beach. This is the problem here these idiots will try and kill you over nothing.

Agree with you, although I think your last line is overdone.

As I said earlier, it would not even surprise me if he tried to rob the foreigner. But his story is plausible, and the jumping to conclusions here on the forum is simply ludicrous. And the arguments for those conclusions are even more ridiculous.

OK so lets look at what we can make out from this picture. The foreigner got stuck in the sand so Kitti and his relatives went to help him get out of the sand. Well yes we can see the bike is stuck in the sand however can any of you see any other convenient pieces of wood at all in this picture? I would say this picture covers an area of 50 sqr meters and not even another twig in sight. The foreigner, presumably leaping to the conclusion that he was about to be robbed, grabbed a piece of wood and tried to hit Kitti with it. Hmmm sorry not for me old chaps, complete fabrication. The piece of wood in question had to be part of the tools needs for holding fishing nets and thus we can safely assume that it was indeed the Thai who brought the wood to the scene. This could have been used to try and free the bike from the sand however in this scenario why would the Thai lad twist the story? Simple he is guilty of assault and his advisers who told him to use this story are as thick as two short planks.

Sure he could be guilty of assault, but his explanation is very plausible. I don't know what happened, and am not drawing any conclusions of what happened like many are here, in spite of a lack of knowledge of the beach or a photo.

I can go to that piece of sand now, be back behind my computer in 10 minutes, and take a few pieces of wood from that stretch of the beach that are easily big enough to bash his head in.

Off you go then, waiting for the pics as well, see you in 10....

Why would I do that, the simple fact is that it is easily possible.

Opinions like 'I can clearly see 50 sqm of sand on that photo and there is no wood so his story is BS', sorry, are just what they claim the Thai guy is doing, telling BS.

  8. It's institutionalized discrimination, the 'man' wearing the same niqab was refused entry. Muslim women can enter parliament AFTER showing their faces for security purposes, why would this not be afforded to anyone? Regardless of whether it is a KKK shroud, helmet or Ronald Reagan rubber mask.. You can't distinguish like this. Blank rule, yes or no.
