  1. A lot from the Thai Wives website have said they are the same, if there is no requirement for additional information (ie you got it right!) then they get absolutely no communication at all. Yesterday there was also a flurry of posts saying they had all received a notice that visas were now taking 10 months to process. You heard it here first folks! Good on'ya Woody hope to hear good news soon.

  2. To all you absolutely rude individuals, to your utter amazement I'm sure, I am not a nutter, a conspiracy theorist or on drugs. I sought an opinion, based on evidence I have myself, which to be honest is not of any of your business. I asked a simple question. Where could I find more information to deny or confirm my suspicions and Do you think I should bother? After about the third rational post, I already made my decision to let sleeping dogs lie and now it has turned into a 'bash me' thread for some reason. You know nothing of me, period. GFY!

  3. No argument, it just seem Xen is being asked for more comprehensive info and as usual they are vague as to what precisely this is, so I would throw everything I had at them, that is the essence of my advice, they will disregard anything they do not want to look at. Unless they are specific, which they are not, then you have to use the hand grenade approach not a sniper rifle.

  4. Xen, you should have included at least 2 stat decs (originals) on the form 87? with copies of their passports, from referees, then I put in a few extra as well. Essentially what you are trying to convince them of in 'ongoing commitment' so as to weed out the 'importers'. Bombard them with everything you have and then some is my advise. Photo's, newspaper clippings, rent receipts, joint bank accounts, bills you paid together, holiday receipts, hotel bookings anything you can think of.

  5. Australian Citizenship application

    Residence requirement
The residence requirement is based on the time you have lived
in Australia and the time you have spent outside Australia. The
Residence Requirement Calculator on the citizenship website
can help you calculate whether you meet this requirement.
    General residence requirement
    Permanent residents must:
    • have been living in Australia on a valid Australian visa for
4 years immediately before applying which must include the
last 12 months as a permanent resident, and
not have been absent from Australia for more than one year
    in the past 4 years,
including no more than 90 days in the
    year before applying.

  6. The partner category visa that you are granted will have a multiple re-entry facility, which means that you
can leave, and return to, Australia as many times as you wish within a specified period.
    • A Prospective Marriage visa (subclass 300) allows you to travel for 9 months from date of visa grant.
    • A temporary Partner visa (subclasses 309 and 820) allows you to travel until a decision is made on
    your permanent Partner visa.
    • A permanent Partner visa (subclasses 100 and 801) allows you to travel for up to 5 years from date
    of grant.
If your initial permanent Partner visa expires and you wish to continue to travel to and from Australia as
an Australian permanent resident, you must obtain a Resident Return visa. Information about Resident

  7. To address your question, once your visa has been granted you will have two posiibilities

TR (valid for 2 years) after which she will be assessed for PR. PR then gives her 2 years. After which a new visa needs to be granted.

    Granted PR directly 4 years.

The TR or PR visa allows for travel in and out of the country as many times as you want for a period of 1 year after grant.

The kicker is that if she does not spend a period of 2 or more years cumulatively living in Australia during her TR or PR period, she is unlikely to get a renewal, then it is trashed, apply again.

The good news is that after the 2-4 years she is then entitled to apply for Australian Citizenship, then visas are no longer needed. Job done!

So to put it another way when you get your visa, spend 2 years there and gain Aust citizenship and never have to worry about it again.

Its in the booklet on the DIBP website

I see the usual nutters are in force today, glad to see... welcome! nice to see you in those gleaming aluminium hats you have on. Now, back to the topic... Is there anywhere such as db or such I can use to check? Would you bother?

    Oz

I dunno if this is a really poor troll thread or if your the nutter and aluminum hat wearer

Either way you need to acquire some hobbies and perhaps turn off the tv and internet for awhile

I have been an active member of this forum for over 8 years, I just decided today that I would like to be a troll and annoy everyone.... do you even read what you type?

Yes I already did those calculations, estimate him to be mid to late 80's. I lived there (Japan) for 20 years and ran night clubs, so I can conclusively say he is not a Yakuza. He lives in a low rent apt., not a hovel, and comes out only after 5pm to go to the supermarket for dinner, other than that he is a total recluse.

why are you afraid of him? alt=huh.png>

Seriously Naam? You are one of the posters I respect the most on this forum and this is all you come up with ....

No I am not afraid of him, I am also not decided as to whether it even warrants any effort on my behalf to check, yet something is niggling at me. My uncle was POW at Changi in Singapore, and he made peace with the Japanese in his own way. Just looking at opinion, that is what a forum is for is it not?
