  1. The condition is the most important. If they have no scratches and have been sealed all the time I would be interested to buy your Krugerrand. Its not pure gold but 917.

Send me a PM how much you want for it. If you look for market value I am not willing to offer it and gold shop too ill not offer you market price.

some people don't seem to know that a KrugerRand contains one ounce of fine gold.

Krugerand has always been 22k Gold. The reason why I wanted the Krugerand is due to the fact that I have a gold necklace which is 22 karats so the colors match perfectly and they always had 8% copper. Singapore 22k gold has also 8% copper and so are the Double Eagle and Gold Eagle.

All you have to do is look at the color of the bullion coin.

BTW The Maple is by the way 99.99% fine gold.

your problem seems to be that you don't understand English. what part of "one KrugerRand" contains "one ounce of fine gold" is it you don't understand? huh.png

to compensate for the lower purity the coin is heavier (1.0909 troy ounces) than e.g. a Maple Leaf but the one ounce fine gold content is the same.

It still is 917 in gold but it is not 999 fine gold.

What it means is that the Krugerrand is 22k but the Maple leave is 999 (24k gold). The Krugerrand has more weight but it doesn't make it more valuable.

Let the OP go to a gold shop when he sells it off and I am sure he will get more for the Maple Leaf because Thai gold shops prefer to purchase gold at 99.9% or 96.5% and not 91.7%.

I can make a gold necklace with 2oz fine gold 99.9% and mix it down to 18k (750) and the gold shops still would not pay you in Thailand USD 2562 that one would have paid for two oz of 999.9 fine gold because it is 18k gold and not 24k gold.

My posting was focused on that the Krugerrand is 22k and not 24k (999.9).

    End of subject

  3. It always seemed strange to me that if you apply for a retirement visa in your home country, you have to provide a police record to the embassy.

But if you apply here in Thailand then it's not needed.

Maybe they'll also tighten up on retirement applicants/extensions if the original visa wasn't obtained at home with a police record already provided.

Correct - I noted a German guy at the Thai Embassy and he had to supply a Polizeiliches Fuehrungszeugniss and not older then 60 days. Besides they wanted to see in his bank account 20,000 Euros for an O-A or an official person letter.

In regards to a criminal check, good move forward.

  4. Why are you in Pattaya?

If you do not want a prostitute do not live in a brothel and do not do online dating. Find a normal girl the normal way if you can but why are you in Pattaya if you do not need to pay for sex?

Sent from my GT-I9152 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Its about his budget. He psend it all and can't buy that BG any more so he is trying his chance on a dating site.

I met my wife on a dating website but if she would have lived even 50km's away from Pattaya it would have been a no no

  5. Its a very simple issue.

On Agoda the price is set for most properties by the hotels directly.

If you connect from Japan the price are even higher as the revenue manager sets the price. Many hotels do not give Worldwide sales but set prices by countries/regions or even continents.

This has nothing really to do about Agoda. The only issue would be about HotelQuickly to know how much margin they take.

My guess they are on performance. Better rates if they can fill rooms in large numbers. Mobile is not ready yet.

  6. I think that TDRI stays out of is a clear signal that they don't want to be dragged into something which smells possible like a deal. I have always admired Ammar Siamwalla who has been with TDRI for as long I can think of Thailand and his reports has always been fair balanced. Mr. Siamwalla has been a very vocal critic of the Thaksin governments but he never stopped above.

We know corruption took place at the rice pledging scam but I bet my balls YS will be not found guilty. The NACC should have gone after the ministers, rice mills and warehouses and not only focused on Yingluck.

Furthermore NACC should have asked for a report from NIDA and they would have gladly accepted it to be used against YS but not Thailand's prestige TDRI.

  7. For non-Asean foreigners it is better then to open a company with 100% share in Malaysia, Philippines or Cambodia and then become active as Asean LTD in Thailand.

To do this you would have to pass a test they are implementing called SBO, it tests to see if the foriegn business is substantive, things like how many years in operation, who owns it, profits etc would be looked into before granting the 70% shareholding allowance

I do hope that my 5 year old Singapore company of which I hold around 65% has a chance to break the barrier of holding a share of at least 51% if I have decide to give it another try with a Thai company. I do not have a problem in letting Thais have shares in a potential Thai company but I want to have control in that company and repatriate profits back to the Singapore company.

  9. Sticks content was great, but his coding skills are atrocious. There is money to be made by just renovating his site and getting rid of that horrible old white on black formating and other navigational problems. The layout of his site is a mess.

His website is worth 29,000 USD. What is he trying to sell it for?

    http://www.checkwebsiteprice.com/searchResult.php?url=stickmanbangkok.com

It seems to be around 32,000 USD

  10. If this thing gets very popular, I wonder what will happen. In general service levels in Thailand plummet when there are enough customers.

This thing is getting very popular.

Many new members joined and Thailand Elite had to recruit more people to assist at the airport.

Most new members decided to "test" the service with the Easy Access card.

Because of its success, one can be sure that the price will be increased in the near future.

Thailand Elite is a great program that has suffered because of political attacks. But finally it seems that everybody can see the benefits for both sides; the country and the foreigners (who can buy such a product).

Good news are coming for the members soon.

That is why I guess the price of the Easy Access will go up.

I think you are spot on Gerry. I was last week asked to send my docs in asap.

  11. First of all I feel for the OP.

I would go for a 50:50 divorce and take half of all assets even if the house is somewhere in Nakhon Nowhere. I am sure your wife will not let go of the cash but with a good lawyer you might get 50% back. The only problem I see is if she starts running up debts as you both will be responsible for it until the day you are official divorced.

If you still have funds left offshore, another option is just walk away from it.

I've read elsewhere that any and all the debts acquired without consent and knowledge of your partner, stay with you after the divorce.

We didn't sign for any loans or anything else that I'm aware of. I'm debt free always pay for everything in full and will keep it this way.

A German friend of mine filed for a divorce in Udon and the lady got overnight a Kasikorn Premium A/C with a credit-card and only when they went to court and the assets would be split came an additional liability of 459k to light. They did sell the car but the house couldn't be sold as it was in a village. All in all he invested around 5 million Baht in 4 years and got back around 600k. He died by the way last year which I found very suspicious.
