Instead of complaining about the wrong culprit, you might learn to use the full extend of the checking possibilities provided

Most likely the guy has the gold package which doesn't include the relevant HD channel. If True advertised the Gold package as having full live coverage of the F1 season, then any such subscribers have a valid complaint with True, regardless of who decides the channel's schedule.

Wrong !!! Any package gives you a certain number of channels regardless of what is shown on that channel. I also have the Gold package and was able to watch both qualifying and the race. In the Gold package a number of free HD channels are included.

No, why can't True visions put a note up on the advertised channel saying the channel has been changed. They manage the adverts well but seem incapable of informing their customers

It was due to be on ESPN, a channel which True buy in, so your complaint should be made to STAR/ESPN not True. Also it was shown on ESPN HD, I believe. As far as the re-run of the opening ceremony what channel were you using to watch, one of Trues own channels or a bought in one.

That said I also watched it from BBC iplayer this morning, in HD, and thought it was very good.

No race, apologies, it was the qualifying for the F1, my mistake I was complaining about the the opening ceremony . I watched it on iPlayer later, it was brilliant. My complaint was that the True visions' Highlights' consisted solely of the athletes entering the stadium, no fireworks, no lighting the flame, nothing

Wanted to see the show introducing the Olympics, supposed to be amazing. Could not watch the F1 race as they had cancelled it without warning so I tuned in in great anticipation to the True Visions notion of "Highlights"! Not one bit of the show, no fireworks, dancing anything, just one hour of the athletes walking in then it stopped abruptly before the flame was lit. Boring?

I've just watched the full download from the BBC ( didn't watch the athletes again!!). Just an amazing spectacle,I've never seen anything like it and well worth watching even if you are not a Brit!. How True Visions can manage to c0k up such a wonderful event is beyond my ken.

Now waiting to see how they manage to ruin the Hungarian F1 tonight. Ah well, only 1450 Baht month, mai pen rai.

I put up a Nikon camera for sale last week and got a reply from a 'FB' living in the US I'd put up the original advert with the offer to pay by bank transfer, thinking, of course of an ATM type transaction here in Thailand.

FB seemed keen to but the camera, didn't quibble about the price. I said I'd get postage costs to the US. I gave him several options. Rapidly he got back to me, not saying which one he wanted and asked for my bank details again.

I got a bit suspicious as he simply seemed keen to get my bank details and the name I was to send it to in the Us wasn't his it was an 'MT', so I sent an invoice via PAYPALand then the fun started. I got two emails in my SPAM box ( I have a gmail account wonderful Gmail!!) They purported to come from Paypal. The first said FB was verified, the second said that under new rules the payment was being held until I sent a copy of the posting receipt, then the money would be released. I'd never heard of that before.There was an contact email address on the second 'paypal' I entered that and up flashed another red warning from Gmail ( Gmail is GREAT!!), suggesting the site was a phishing site.

FB has sent me another email asking me to post the camera, I'm just thinking just what to say, but it will upset him I'm sure

I'll make it clear, I've been to both, I've had several US scans, but not one at RAM ( Lanna and Rajavej)). Looking at a US scan is simple. I was referring to the general treatment at Rajavej.

In many hopsitals ,if you have a check up, you can have an ultrasonic scan of your abdomen included. This gives a picture of the size of your prostate and is very useful additional information to supplement the PSi test. I had it done in Rajavej which is cheaper than Ram and seems to be just as good.

I try to speak Thai locally to villagers, often ,even if I'm saying things that are not difficult tonally and simple to understand, they smile, nod and give up. The most recent example was the maid next door (?? hill tribe, possibly never spoken to a farang before??) I tried to ask about the missing cat, she took off without hesitation and got someone else. This often happens with older people in the local market. Asking how much meat was , in my poor Thai 'kit la taurai?' which should mean 100 grammes how much? I got a smile. Saying the same thing to a younger person got me the answer.

I suspect many Thais, especially those that have little exposure to farangs or are old just get scared, smile and hope I'll go away.

testing with ADSL Thailand I get 49ms ping, 7.8 mbps down, 0.8 up ,which is close to my contract

testing with Speedtest I get

( to the vientiane server, don't ask me why)

67 ping, 7.8 down, 0.7 up

If I connect with A UK VPN to a UK server, it times out after > 1.7 seconds and fails to connect ( ADSL Thailand)

Similarly Speedtest net, UK but the Thai IP address fails to connect

Thai IP ( Speedtest) g to LA gives 504 ms ping, 2.9 down and VERY slow up

SO

inside Thailand seems to be OK, but cannot understand why they are suing he Vientian server, it suggests there is something wrong in BKK.

Not sure why the UK is so much slower than the YS (???? routing??)

If anybody can make sense of this make me happy!
