  1. I think he can just manage picture books, but not if they have writing as well.
  2. Assuming that a POTY is even needed, and what qualifications would be required of both the posts and the poster. How many candidates should be required, should a ballot be carried out of all available members, should the votes be secret or open to everyone? Going by this years self appointed choice, anybody could say the they actually are the POTY. However IIRC from the original you could not propose yourself for the position.
  3. I will be fine. I am nearly 2 multi meters in height and I can resist almost anything.
  4. Perhaps they needed Allessandro Volta (b 1745, d 1827) to shock him into life.
  5. You can give me as long as you like, but it still won't change the post.
  6. Just another very sad, big, bad, bold keyboard warrior.
  7. It is very difficult to hear people when your head and ears are buried in the sand.
  8. quote "Every time they are dissolved and return under a different guise, it weakens them and sets them back" IMO Every time they are dissolved and return under a different guise, they come back stronger than before, and makes them stronger and pushes them forward. "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet"
  9. Try reading the Bangkok Post where the airline is named. You could have looked at the post after yours, or even done a search on the internet. He wasn't barred because he was disabled, but because NONE of the 4 people (friends?) travelling with him would take the responsibility for him, IF an emergency did actually happen. I think that I would chose my friends and/or my travelling companions, more carefully.
  10. I don't know, but there is your post.
  11. And you called me a bigot.
  12. I do so enjoy it when posters claim I said things that I did not. You are veering off topic as usual which is "US delegation leaves Saudi Arabia early over kippah row" So where did the Muslim woman in the west come from, and what has that got to do with the topic? Now according to you I am a bigot, simply because I ask questions. If you have no answer, then say so, and try not to insult the poster. This is supposed to be a discussion forum where everybody is entitled to their opinion. You don't seem to agree with that. BTW going back to the topic, how much religious tolerance did the Jewish person show to his Saudi hosts?
  13. Why do you seem to believe that Jews are more important than any other people in the world, and that they should be given special treatment?
  14. You can call it what you like. In reality it is common sense. That is the problem with ALL religions. I know my rights and I will stick it out to the bitter end and this is the result. The trip was wasted by the religious INTOLERANCE of one person. If you cannot see that, there is no hope for you.
  15. Mine cost 11,000 thb for a normal size passport from Thai Visa Express plus 42 thb for the EMS postage with one visit to the post office.
  16. No. YOU are saying he said that. All the guy had to do was remove his kippah when he was requested to do so. Common sense 101 and called compromise. If he was not prepared to compromise then he should have withdrawn from the trip. Being Jewish does not make a person special or different from any other person except in their own minds and attitudes. The other person can be of ANY race or religion and is entitled to the same respect, especially in their own country.
  17. I live in rural Kamphaeng Phet and sent my passport off to Paul Aslett at Thai Visa Express on Monday 11th March. It saves me having my wife to drive me to Bangkok, an overnight stay at my BIL in Samut Prakan, a visit the next day to VFS, wife to drive me there and hang around and then the 350 km trip back home. Then when VFS call me, we have to do the whole thing over again.
  18. I am not even surprised. It is the only way he could win.
  19. I think that I will give it a miss, plus he is on my ignore list anyway.
  20. You are almost correct when you say "Yes the generals should be charged tried and punished". However they have NEVER been punished, yet Thaksin has, for a far lesser crime. Now why would that be, and why are you not complaining about that?
  21. To the poster who posted a confused emoji. Please respond to this post and explain what is confusing you. I may be able to explain it better if you tell me why you are confused.
  22. Not that many of his 'friends' seem to be defending him.
  23. And a self appointed potty at that.
  24. If I were a conspiracy nut, (which I am not), I would love to dig deeply into this. It does somehow remind me of an alleged quote by King Henry II of England back in 1170 about the then Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Beckett. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will_no_one_rid_me_of_this_turbulent_priest%3F While the quote was not expressed as an order, it prompted four knights to travel from Normandy to Canterbury, where they killed Becket. The phrase is commonly used in modern-day contexts to express that a ruler's wish may be interpreted as a command by his or her subordinates. It is also commonly understood as shorthand for any rhetorical device allowing leaders to covertly order or exhort violence among their followers, while still being able to claim plausible deniability for political, legal, or other reasons.
