Ah, a former leader of, and now an MP for the Democrats!

A party that connived with the deposing of Thaksin, after he soundly beat them in an election, allowed the military to put them in government after they lost another election, and when it looked like Yingluck was going to beat them for a second time, connived to stop the election and allowed the military to take power instead.

I think perhaps he has a tenuous claim to the moral high ground!

IMHO, he has no claim to any morals, let alone the high ground.

if there are protests they are hushed by the media. this new generation z is rather teflon coated and dont really seem bothered by the despotism that puke thai i really doubt anything will happen. the real generation of protesters is either too old or too comfortable to protest...

Many of the "real" generation of protesters are students and young people and a lot of them are already in jail for protesting and "allegedly"  breaking LM112 laws. THEY are the future of Thailand, and they WILL win in the end.

If the Palestinians do that, all well and good.

However at the same time the Israeli's must also hand over Netanyahu, his entire war-mongering cabinet and all the generals and field commanders to the ICJ, after reminding them that the excuse "I was just following orders" is NOT a valid excuse as was clearly pointed out at the Nuremberg war trials after WW2, when the Germans were accused and quite rightly sentenced for the genocide of many of the Jewish people, along with the genocide of homosexuals, transvestites and gypsies from all over Europe.

The Israeli's must also give up all the land and settlements that they have built on stolen Palestinian land since 1973.

It seems as though in the responses, 1 poster gave me a thumbs up, 1 poster agrees with me and one poster is confused.

Well Mr Confused, why not respond in writing and tell me why you are confused, and I will see if I can explain it to you in a different way. Perhaps I didn't make my response clear enough.

  4. Wise always send me an email telling me when my pensions arrive in my Wise borderless account. I transfer it the same day to my Thai Bangkok Bank account and keep track of it. Wise also send me an email telling me that my money is in the Bangkok and the time it will be available and they are rarely more than a couple of minutes off. They even tell me if it will be late due to a Thai bank holiday.

Absolutely not I’m not ok with anyone getting slaughtered nor am I ok with Israeli families being slaughtered murdered raped burned alive nor concert goers being kidnapped raped and held for ransom…….the only way is for the Palestinians to give over to Israel ALL of the hammas criminals that brought this hideous calamity on them then use that to leverage some agreement that allows them to live and prosper …..

If the Palestinians do that, all well and good.

    If UK pensions?

Government / Military pensions only taxable in the UK under the UK Thai DTA (unless you have Thai Nationality)

check they are on the list

    https://www.gov.uk/hmrc-internal-manuals/international-manual/intm343040

State NI and Private pensions are not in the DTA, but if the private pension is taxed already in the UK  under PAYE probably not much of an issue.

    Thank you.

The poster does not provide sufficient information for me or anyone else to give a full or exact answer. As poster UKResonant asks....are they UK pensions? Are they on the lists he provided and as  such exempt? Plus in order to give a full and exact answer, we would need to know the precise amounts involved since this can vary the answer.

As main contributor to this thread, I have an obligation not to mislead and to provide only factual answers, rather than guess or assume anything, and those things I have done.

Lastly, let me be perfectly clear once again that this thread, the simple tax guide and our involvement in trying to help readers and answer their questions, where possible, is voluntary and does not represent professional tax advice. We are perfectly happy to try and help where ever we can but but we are less happy about being chastised because somebody thinks we should have done more research, watched a particular video or given a better answer!

The question that I asked was, though I probably didn't put it that well, was basically does it or should it, make any difference if the money I am transferring to Thailand is last years money, or in my case this years money as it arrives in my Wise bank account.

I do understand that my military pension is non taxable (non assessible)  in Thailand, so would I need to the Thai RD?

I have a print that I made showing the breakdown of the dates and amounts of my 3 pensions transferred to my BBK branch in Kamphaeng Phet for last year and I can probably do another 5 years back if required.

Mike, if you need those figures for last year, I can PM them to you.

I think as leader of the free world, it's time for Biden to put American boots on the ground in Ukraine.

And who will take the responsibility when the body bags start coming back to the USA?

Who will take the responsibility when that war mongering manic starts throwing nuclear weapons about?

Putin won't give a monkeys. HE will be safe in his bunker under the Kremlin. It won't bother him if 100 or 200 million Russians die. How many millions of other, innocent people will die because of him?

HE will have won the war to nothing.

A curse on the American Putin loving maga fascists who are blocking vitally needed military aid to Ukraine in their brave defense against the murdeeoous aggression of expansionist Russia.

    A good curse would be

"May the fleas of a million camels (a thousand camels would not be enough) infest the multiple crotches of the gop, their fat so called leader, and ALL the magadontians who support them, and may all their arms be to short to scratch them".

And may the war-mongering Putin, his war-mongering cabinet, and all his war-mongering supporters be infested with a thousand leeches each.

  9. I have spent the last hour digging around the internet, not Lazada, and there are 3 companies in Bangkok, one that does casings here

    http://www.botthailand.com/casing/natural-casing.html

    also here

    https://www.desertcart.co.th/brand/sausage%20maker

and they sell sausage casings and sausage sausage stuffers here

and the other company does a lot of different seasonings.

    https://www.ubuy.co.th/en/productuk/3VMO5XYYW-premium-pork-sausage-mix

I had to do a fair bit of back and forward work searching for odd bits.

I have a George Foreman meat grinder that I bought in NZ years ago with a sausage stuffer attachment and I used to have/still have/but I have NO idea where it is now, separate sausage stuffer that I used a few years ago. I can't even remember if it was a vertical or a horizontal stuffer, push down or crank handle.

The problem that I found in making sausages is unless you are making them commercially or you really really like sausages, is that after the first 5 kg or so that you eat you get bored with them. It is also a lot of work for a small quantity.

  10. I am thinking about making sausages again here in Thailand.

Does anybody know where I can order online, seasonings and sausage skins?

I used to order that stuff from a company in the UK called Weschenfelder and get a mate to hand carry it. I sent them an email last month asking if they could post stuff and they don't send offshore now, as the cost of shipping it is 4 or 5 times the price of the items.

I used to get the skins from Makro, but they came in a 1kg frozen lump of various lengths and all tangled together.
