It doesn't say if he owned it or it was a rental. Like you I am thinking it is a rental. So often Thai's rent out motorcycles to people without a license on motorcycles from any country who don't even know how to rider, just for the buck.

I remember 10 years ago, I went into a hardware store with my then Thai father-in- law and when we came out he was <deleted> as he was charged tourist price as well. It took me 2 days to stop laughing

A friend who is a tour guide told me a few years ago he took a bus full of tourist to a hot spring near where I live and the prices were so high for the tourist, and they would not give 1 baht discount. So he told the driver to leave and as the bus left the tourist give them a big raspberry. If you want tourist to spend their money you must be fair. Also the hot springs is run by the government.

Little does he know that all the nukes in the world are aimed at his residence. If he doesn't have brain cancer this may scare him a little.

Such a small country with so many clever people!!!
