While a singer is of course entitled to voice their opinion on anything, same as anyone else, what makes them think their opinion is any more important than Joe Bloggs the plumber's opinion? Actually the plumber does a more important job than a singer. I've never bought a Beyonce CD, and don't remember anything she sang, but I'd be in trouble if the plumbing didn't work and there was no one to fix it. What actually saddens me is that apparently people actually think being a singer or an actor makes people special. They are just doing their job like anyone else, and while they may be really good at that job, they are not superior to anyone else.

Nature, the being that dictates what happens on the planet didn't design humans to last that long. In the natural course of life we'd be dead before we became a burden on society. While I'm not advocating putting old people in the forest for wild animals to eat, IMO we have to wake up and realise that keeping people alive past use by date isn't working out too well. Problem is that medical science can keep people alive, but it can't make them function properly past a certain age. Death is a part of life, but we have become so isolated from nature that we think we are clever, when we ain't. Before anyone points the finger, I have a DNR order so I won't be hanging around as a profit unit for some dreadful "rest home" company to exploit.

Pity then that the Met is better at firing people for nasty posts than stopping crime. I never felt safe in London and never a cop to be seen on the beat. Only time I saw cops was after a terrorist incident when they were standing around in the Tube station with guns pretending to look tough.

It's more catchy than "build back better" though, Even comes with a spiffy red hat. The problem with "build back better" is that it implies actually doing something to build and better. Sadly Biden didn't build anything and the US certainly isn't better since Joe has been in charge.

On that I agree 100%. Can add that they want to remake the world in their image, and want to tell everyone else how to live. Not so good on stopping crime or punishing criminals.

The person you quoted obviously has no idea what a coup d’etat is. It's generally an armed attempt involving the military to usurp the government. A few hundred unarmed civilians wandering around the Capitol building without a weapon in sight is not a coup d’etat.

OK, I'll have to take your word on that, but it's an obvious political attack to be bringing it up again 2 weeks before the election. I suppose it was intended as an October surprise, but seems to have fizzled. I guess most can see it as a political attack by someone that is supposed to be outside politics.

I thought they were excused because they were "developing nations" or some such nonsense. The whole man made climate change thing is IMO a hoax to transfer vast amounts of money from most of us to the 1%.

I have to agree with all that as it's what I've been saying on here for a few years now. It's a constant litany of "we have to do something", but never ever do they say what "something" is. I've come up with more suggestions on AN than the believers have- I don't think I've ever read anything from any of them saying what "something" means. I'm still waiting for something that is affordable, effective and acceptable. Here's a suggestion that would work- limit every female on the planet to one child in their lifetime. Chances of that happening- zero.

Given it was probably never realistic in the first place and nature will do whatever nature wants to do, Andersen is just another Canute, IMO. As I am unaware of anything she wants to do that is effective, affordable and acceptable, I wonder just what her "plan" is anyway. I also have a plan- put everyone that talks about halting climate change but has no clue about how to achieve that realistically on a big space ship and send them to Mars as the first colonists. If all the hot air they spout is eliminated it should halt man made climate change in a jiffy.

Sooooo, she didn't really believe in the things she said before, and can "modify" her opinions. Seems she doesn't really believe in anything except what will get her elected. I don't recall Trump "modifying" any of his positions.
