I lived with 2 pre teen children for some years, and I do not look back on that experience with affection.

I was happier overall when not in a realationship than when in one after the first year. Unlike some on here, some of us don't have to have another person in our lives to be fulfilled.

For 50 % of us marriage is a bad deal. Would anyone invest money in a deal knowing up front 50% likely to lose everything?

Lonely yes- explains why I spend so much time on AN. Cynical- marriage did more to make me cynical about women, love and marriage than any amount of not "bonding". As for companionship, a dog would be more of a companion than the two women I lived with after the first year. A dog never stops unconditionally loving the one that feeds it, unlike women. Positives about being alone- I never have to compromise for her No chance of an "accidental" pregnancy more money for myself not having to put up with tantrums, and periods of resentful silence I can be as un PC as I want I can leave the seat up I don't have to shave Many, many more.

I've explained it umpteen times that I don't support Trump for himself ( I'm not a fan of billionaires, or millionaires ), but because the opposition is rotten to the core. It's a matter of deciding which is worse and voting for the other. BTW, I do like most of his policies, eg stopping illegal immigration and deporting illegals, drilling for oil, but most of all, ending the Ukraine war and not wasting any more money on it, plus hopefully he won't start any, unlike warmonger Harris who is likely to. Not all positive, for reasons I don't need to say here as well known.

I would too. I worked in the UK for 10 years, but I never met any available English ones that I wanted to with. Australian women were better looking but they were Australians so a no go area. Way too PC for my liking.

Am I wrong in thinking you never partook of the bargirl experience? If I'm correct it would explain why the first paragraph never accorded with reality, and I had more than a few to know. I understand that it used to be that way back in the 60s, but that's just what I read in a book. I'm not saying that it was a soulless experience- many were fun to have for a holiday, and they came in useful for translating and looking after the bags while I looked for a hut to stay in, but center of their universe, hardly.
