  1. I think the poster you quoted is more upset that he knows his attacks won't be seen by the target of his attacks, than being able to contradict them. If they don't want to be put on ignore they should stop the personal insults, and debate about the topic, not the poster.
  2. IMO you are pushing it uphill. Some on here are only interested in sniping at anyone with a different opinion, not in contributing to a rational discussion, and justifying their stance with some reasons for them.
  3. and the ICC will hopefully be holding trials for the israeli leadership for their many war crimes.
  4. Deflecting again. One is nothing to do with the other.
  5. Those clever Japanese have already created lifelike female dolls. I'm hoping they manage to put a robot in them to make an android for fun and games before I pass over to the other side. I'm not going to build my girlfriend myself, but if I'm still around when they do get perfected I can order one that looks just the way I like, that is programmable to do anything I want ( but not murder etc ).
  6. I'm waiting in hope of writing a book entitled "The android that loved me" from reality.

Thing I loved about Thailand, at least 20 years ago, was that I could basically do anything ( short of hurting other people ), and no one hassled me about it, unless it went wrong, in which case it was all over. So as long as I didn't hurt anyone I could speed as fast as I liked on the road, not wear a helmet on a m'bike if I didn't want to, behave naughtily in a gogo, look at cute girls without being scowled at, etc etc etc. I liked that Thailand doesn't make everyone else suffer to protect stupid people eg don't have to fence a swimming pool to stop other people's sprogs drowning in it. In LOS we are responsible for ourselves, not everyone else, and if we mess up, it is our fault and not societies fault. Health and safety- what's that?
  8. I agree to a certain extent, but I wish science hadn't invented the PC, as I'd have had a much more fulfilling life since 2000 if I'd never been able to buy that first PC. Obsessions are never a good thing. I think your concern is that you are unhappy with what people do. Science gives us opportunity. If you want totalitarian control, you wil have to manage that by yourself. Near enough to correct. However, I don't want to control other people and I'd rather be able to live far far away from the lot of them, but that'd be hard to do, given the cost nowadays of land, and I'm not allowed to just go and set up on a convenient spot as it's all owned now, if not by an individual, by the state.
  9. Only in countries that pay them to survive. Do you think the kids digging out stuff to make car batteries in the Congo are doing it for fun? I know you don't- that was a rhetorical question, but I'm sure you get my point.
  10. If I get a time machine for Xmas I'm going to go back and assassinate the group that sang Snoopy's Christmas, before they made the record. If I hear that <deleted> song one more time i'll.......................................
  11. Errrrrr. Xmas was a pagan festival that the early Christians nicked to remember the birth of Jesus, The tree and the gifts are nothing to do with the Christ- the tree is part of a pagan festival and the gifts were started by St Nicholas. Santa Claus was apparently started as advertising to sell Coca Cola, but I could be wrong on that, and I can't be bothered to go look it up as it doesn't matter anyway. The point is that it was never about the baby Jesus to start with, and that it may never have happened in the way it's celebrated anyway.
  12. As I understand it, Thanksgiving celebrates when they were starving and the native Americans gave them enough food to survive. If the Native Americans had known what was coming, they'd have waited for them to starve to death and then danced on their graves, singing the equivalent of "Hallelujah".
  13. PS, I'll really be celebrating as I bought an Xmas pudding with caramel sauce. The diabetes isn't going to make me go blind for just one treat a year.
  14. Probably the same as I'm doing now. It's too dangerous on the roads with all the city drivers that don't know how to drive in the country going to visit auntie Mabel, with the cheapest gift they could find wrapped in nice paper to fool her, to chance going to the beach, which will be full of drunk youths anyway. I buy a lot of DVDs from op shops and thank the people that gave the auntie Mabels of the country a nice new DVD that they bought on special, which she never watched, as I get to buy them for $1, never taken out of the box.
  15. Best new year I had with my first partner involved something along that line. Sadly never repeated.
  16. I was married during several new years but she never dragged me along to one of those. Are you referring to Thai new year, when we all got wet, or western new year?
  17. No argument from me about that, but I thought the thread was about sexual attraction, not platonic friendship. I've been in a few platonic friendships myself. Are the "gay guys" OK with luring women for a shagger mate ie being exploited?
  18. Plenty of info out there on the next generation of nuclear power. I'm surprised you haven't seen it. As you seem to be into non polluting means of power production I didn't think I needed to provide a link. Did it for you now. Note the reference to CHEAPER. https://www.vox.com/science/23702686/nuclear-power-small-modular-reactor-energy-climate-change Smaller, cheaper, safer: The next generation of nuclear power, explained it's the only way to provide enough power for all the extra billions coming soon. Short of nuclear fusion, what else could provide enough electricity? The wind doesn't always blow, the sun doesn't always shine, big windmills cost too much for poor countries ( or they'd have them already ), and have recycling problems; solar takes too much space and are also expensive for poor people. It's fine if all they use them for is the internet and a couple of lights- a small one will do. try charging a truck with a small solar panel.
  19. Given by how popular fried bugs are with the ladies of Nana, they might be tasty, though that's something I'll never know. There is something about seeing a cute girl with the little bug legs sticking out of her mouth that puts me off.
  20. Perhaps he just likes knowing that his genes will live on. I could be wrong on that though. My own father didn't give a rat's bottom about his direct male offspring either. I suppose it's partly revenge that his direct bloodline dies with me. Had I cared, I might have tried harder to reproduce. I did have the opportunity with my first partner.
  21. Given that is what most of the 8 billion people on the planet do as well, it's why humans will likely be extinct by the end of this century. So much for anyone's direct genetic line when that happens. I'm more than satisfied that my direct genetic line dies with me.
  22. If you actually knew about Singapore politics you'd know that he didn't have to worry about getting elected. As for Trump, you don't know what he'll do when he gets back in. You are just guessing. If he always did what he said before an election Hillary would still be in jail.
  23. Quote me saying I saw and didn't believe, or it's not true.
  24. I read your link and the only reference to Hamas is the bit I bolded. I would have expected more to be made of capturing Hamas commanders than three words in a long article. I'm not saying that it's not true, but that isn't much to go on. They don't say who they are, or their seniority, so they could be just minor commanders, equivalent to NCOs. Military spokesperson Daniel Hagari told reporters on Friday that Israeli forces have detained more than 200 people in the past 48 hours. He said they've taken dozens of them, including Hamas commanders, to Israel for interrogation.
  25. You really should stop making stuff up, as it just makes you look silly. I did say I hadn't seen any reports of Hamas surrendering, and I didn't say there hadn't been any. I have never said I am a Hamas supporter, so that is not true ( being polite ). Yes, inventing things about other posters is sad.
