I just watched an interview on Al Jazeera that pointed out that New York has an actual law that says anyone that wants a bed gets one, so the thousands of illegals that get bussed to N Y can get a place to stay and, I assume, food. They have put up huge tents for unaccompanied men, and have many shelters, but the mayor is complaining that the cost is going to bankrupt the city. Perhaps he regrets that N Y is a "sanctuary city" now.

Happens all over. Not in Thailand, I had to take my car to a never used before garage for a warrant of fitness and they said I needed a new part on the suspension. I suspect they made that up to get a bit extra money from me, but had no choice if I wanted the warrant in a hurry ( it was overdue- my fault ). Of course there is no way I could prove it, and I didn't have the option of taking it to my usual garage.

Isn't the present bit being built in the place that Trump wanted to build it? Is nobody crossing there? I think Trump wanted a wall the entire length of the border, which would include places no one is crossing. The reason for that is if there are gaps, the illegals will go to the gaps to cross.

Walls alone never work unless backed up by people. The Chinese discovered that with the Great Wall. I believe the border patrol is lacking sufficient numbers to do the job properly. Significant word is "allegedly". Unless proven it's just more lies dressed up as "news". There have been enough "alleged" wrong doings about Trump to put him away for several lifetimes if they were true, but always remained unproven. IMO they are both <deleted><deleted>. I've been to both extensively, but they became over touristed, over built and wrecked at the end of last century. Last time I visited Phuket was after the tsunami and they were rebuilding the same <deleted><deleted> again. Same on Phi Phi which now has to be the most ruined island in all of Thailand IMO. Sad how greed ruined Thai beaches.
