Why Trump’s court dates may not impact his primary success
thaibeachlovers replied to Social Media's topic in World News
From what I have read, there is nothing to stop him becoming POTUS after being convicted, though that may only apply to certain types of convictions or perhaps a state conviction. I guess the situation was never considered by the Constitution writers. The REALLY interesting situation would be if a court case was scheduled after the election and he had won already. This entire situation seems to me like one of those nightmares where one can see the disaster coming but is unable to avoid it. Personally, I used to hope that Trump would not stand again, but after the tsunami of court cases happening at such a politically sensitive time I have changed my mind. -
Why Trump’s court dates may not impact his primary success

IMO the people that will vote for Trump are already convinced to do so, and that there are few undecideds out there, so should not matter at all if he is in court or not. -

Google tells me "It actually provides individuals with privacy and anonymity that traditional websites don't offer to individuals. For instance, people can go on the dark web and post their thoughts about political activity without any fear of being reprimanded by government officials and other groups." Doesn't sound particularly "dark", and if anyone can go on it, is anyone foolish enough to believe that those super computers hidden away in every advanced government doesn't access everything on it?

Seems to me that people have forgotten that Trump was elected to destroy the Washington "swamp" not to be part of it. He didn't succeed then as the swamp was too strong, but those that support him, IMO, want him to finish the job. Many people in the US, apparently hate the Washington mob enough to want to destroy it, so the "wreckage" is what they want and hope for by supporting Trump. BTW, never think that all Republicans support Trump. Many probably hate him as much as any democrat.

A well armed populace is the best defense against a totalitarian government. When the founding fathers created the constitution, IMO they desired to prevent the rise of "kings" in the US, and took measures to ensure it would not happen. Given what I've been seeing happen in the US the last 6 or so years I wouldn't be giving up my guns, for sure.

Didn't make any difference. They could just come off rotation, but once lady drink in the chek bin box they'd be off dancing again. I once made the mistake of buying a lady a drink while she was in the shower ( that was in the best Gogo in Pattaya- Super Baby on Walking Street- sadly closed suddenly and never reopened ). She lasted so long in the shower her skin must have become wrinkled, and she certainly outlasted my patience. Didn't leave a tip that night, for sure.

Best Gogo ever was the Hollywood Royale in Nana. Decent sexy shows, partied till after dawn ( closing time for all but one other place was about 2 or 3am- I forget which ), anything ( almost ) went, and some of what I saw would result in this post being deleted if I wrote it here. Two stages, one for naked ladies, other for bikinis. However, what they did was ALWAYS up to them.

Next time I win a few million on the lottery I'll be off to Japan for some of that "exotic" for sure. However, never having won more than 10 quid on a lottery I had to be content with Thailand. If it wasn't for the bizarre habit of pixilating the relevant bits, Japanese porn would be "interesting", and one wonders if that would be available to the average western visitor. Sadly, I doubt I'll ever find out for myself.

You assume wrong then. Bars cost to run, and the standard price ain't gonna pay the bills, so the lady drinks are to make more money for the bar. If the lady allows a bit of the extra, that's her way of incentivizing the guy to pay the bar fine. Just because a guy pays for a lady drink it doesn't mean she HAS to allow the guy to molest her. Sometimes, in a gogo soon as the lady had secured a lady drink she had to "go dance", and the guy had the "pleasure" of seeing her up there and not "down there". Happened to me so much that I just stopped buying any lady drinks. I'd give them 20 baht to sit with me instead, after they actually sat with me.

Are people better now or back in the 1980s
thaibeachlovers replied to bignok's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
IMO, the question is are people of better character now than they used to be, not are they better off. -
Sounds like you never got out of the city. Go live in a village for a while to see a different side of Thai life. No shopping malls, 7 11, KFC or Macs.

So, just another climate change that has resulted in many deaths that has occurred throughout man's history on this planet. Drought, flood and pestilence have been not uncommon as long as man has been around. The difference now, as I see it is that some of us think that we can change nature by some means, to make nature kinder, but is that a realistic theory, given it has never been done before? However, what is certainly true is that some are getting rich off the idea that mere humans can change nature. Carbon credits? LOL.

Thanks for correcting me.

Topic isn't if you are better off. It's are PEOPLE better now or then?
