IMO Hua Hin sucks big time, Phuket is too expensive and a taxi rip off Krabi used to be great but I've heard bad things about Railay and of course Ao Nang was dire even 30 years ago. I liked West Lanta and the beaches were great I'd go to north Phangan in preference to big Chang any day ( stayed on big Chang once and never bothered again ). Phi Phi. Had the chance after the tsunami to make it great but blew it big time. Samet- avoid like the plague. Samui, used to love it 40 years ago, last time I went there it was dire- waaaay too overbuilt with horrid villas everywhere. Awful.

I could keep it up long enough to leave the country to go live in Thailand till I died. None of them were interested enough to visit the place before, so I wouldn't expect them to be finding out what lifestyle I was living in LOS.

Seen toxic relationships, been in 2. Men IMO marry to get sex without having to go look for it, women marry for security and children, IMO. My first partner was my age, second half my age. Both were as toxic as the other. IMO age has nothing to do with it. I've known school kids with more maturity than some adults I knew well. BTW, far as I have seen, Thai female children support the parents while the boys go out drinking, gambling and fornicating. My Thai wife's first husband did that on her money till she divorced him. Apparently her father forced her to marry him.

As long as I wasn't in a western country ( where the law probably says she gets half ) why would I give her anything? If I was paying her for her body she already gets paid, and if she actually loved me ( ) I'd just buy her stuff and she'd get to live in a better house with a better lifestyle. Hmmmm. I see a lot of "we must do something" but not much in the way of "how to". Perhaps you read different threads than I. I've made more "how to" suggestions than the posters saying we must do something. No need to do that. I used the local bus to get to/ from and hired a taxi when there to go up to the Golden Triangle place and back. I don't like being told where to go and for how long I can stay.

Far as I see, the guys with the least morals get the money, the power and the best looking women. We with morals are the losers, IMO. Why so fixated on age? Shouldn't we be looking for the best person to be with, PERIOD? If a legal age person is prepared to be with someone that is older, so what? Why should Hugh Heffner or Mick Jagger be the ones to get the hot women, and not us? I was brought up with morals, and chose to be so, but if I had a younger woman as a wife, that's nobody's business except hers and mine.

Plenty of lakes/ reservoirs with houseboats in the north. Queen Sirikit reservoir has them.
