100% correct. The conditions in the Wiemar republic that brought Hitler to power do not exist in the US. If, for reasons beyond Trump's control, the US ( and the world ) is hit by the big daddy of all depressions ( which I think is going to happen ), it is not inconceivable that an extreme right wing party will seize control,. However, it is not Trump that will be leading it.

If any of them actually injured anyone I can't agree, but far as I know, the only real crime was the cop that killed an unarmed protestor. Perhaps Trump should put him on trial to send a message.

Sounds good to me. If the left are failing it is IMO entirely their own fault. Their arrogant disregard for the common man and their embracing of idiotic liberal ideas ( eg more than 2 genders ) was always going to fail, once the common man was able to see where it was leading. The danger though, is that the right then goes too far. The world suffered when that happened last century. It's time for a middle path, though I fear moderate voices are being drowned out by the shouting from the extremists.

Far as I'm concerned the only difference between us and China/ Russia is that the west pretends to have democracy when it doesn't, while China/ Russia don't bother with the pretense. Nobody ever asked me or anyone I know what we wanted from society- we just get forced to go along with whatever the people in control want.

I traveled extensively through Thai country areas for years and lived in a village for a long time. I didn't see anything like that. I guess such things happened where I never went. Has such been seen by other posters on here?

The corruption is done at a higher level, and is better hidden in the west. How much money from the payments to Ukraine actually ended up in the wrong pockets? I don't know because it's covered up, but I'm sure it's a lot. I'm not interested in small change corruption like you reference. Never happened with me in LOS. Driving licence- no bribes Immigration- no bribes. Household expenses eg electricity- no bribes. Have you ever been required to pay a bribe?
