  1. If Pakistan won't take them, put them in jail till Pakistan does. I wouldn't complain if they did so.
  2. Why is any aid being given to Pakistan? I see no justification in sending taxpayers money to a country that has proven itself to be undemocratic by IMO fabricating charges against Khan to prevent him becoming PM. Also a country that protected Bin Laden. There is plenty of money in Pakistan, just in the pockets of certain people. Let them support their own country.
  3. You beat me to it. I was going to post that apparently RFK poses a threat to Drs profits if they can't stick a medication that has not gone through the normal trials into people. Those same people that prescribe pain killers that kill ( opioids ).
  4. Yes it is, but that's no reason to deprive the nurses and ambulance drivers in the UK a well deserved pay rise, as all the money is being spent on killing people in Ukraine, as opposed to the nurses who only save lives, so not as deserving, apparently.
  5. Corruption in Russia does not excuse it in Ukraine, and it is a reason to not be funding a war that is nothing to do with the west. The only reason I see for doing so is that they are white, while the Hill Tribes in Burma are brown, and we don't fund them, despite being every bit as deserving as the Ukrainians. Perhaps it's because not enough profit as they don't need Leopards or planes or missiles. I find the entire proxy war in Ukraine to be an exercise in hypocrisy, and of course a means for the usual suspects to part the lowly taxpayers from as much of their money as possible, under the guise of fighting the evil Russians. It's not as though Putin has any intention of invading a NATO country, despite the propaganda.
  6. Agree. Without getting into the realm of conspiracy theories, it seems strange to me that while you and I can see all that, our rulers seem oblivious to it. I prefer to believe that they are aware of it, but for reasons I will not delve into here, they will do nothing about it. Regardless, I an certain that a new depression is coming, and it's going to get really bad for most that are not already very rich. They get to live in gated communities protected by militarised police while the rest of us get the dirty end of the stick. If you have seen Zardoz, you know what I'm talking about, and likely the end will be what happens in reality.
  7. Well said, and absolutely true. In NZ they made it confusing, which lets people pretend it makes a difference when it doesn't.
  8. The only people that think the best things in life are free are the rich
  9. The US isn't rich at all. It owes a few trillion $ to other people. Some people living in the US are very very rich, but that applies to most countries on the planet. Unless you want the rich people to give a lot more to feed the poor, the poor will always be with us. BTW, in Sudan people don't get welfare. When the they die.
  10. While I make no claim to expertise on the economy, I do listen to those that are experts. The one that I agree the most with was that too much money is made without creating anything at all eg Amazon, which makes nothing, and just bypasses buying from a business, Google, Facething and the other ones that create nothing except a means to steal copyright intellectual property, and bully people on line. I suspect that when the crash happens, it's going to affect corporations like them the most- if people have no money they ain't buying anything on line, and they won't be able to afford to go on line anyway. As always, my opinion.
  11. Does she have any solutions as to how that might happen? I know one thing for sure, the west is not going to war so girls can have education.
  12. Did she just work that out? It's been obvious to me since the taliban ruled Afghanistan first time.
  13. Thank you. They probably deserve each other.
  14. America doesn't need Jesus- they have social media and celebrities.
  15. I'm well aware of that and there is a lot of activity in Antarctica of that nature. The point I'm making is that a few hundred people on top of a massive pile of ice is not going to damage anything, as long as they stay well away from the wild life. A spot of frozen poo isn't going to affect any ecology. ( as an aside on that, the outdoor loo at Shackleton's hut on Cape Royds had the most spectacular view on the planet, IMO ). Thing about Antarctica is that most of it is just ice as far as the eye can see- boring. The only interesting bits are on the coast and that is where the ships go.
  16. I thought I was being specific to the bureaucracy concerning travel to Antarctica, which is IMO BS. Preventing companies exploiting the resources is a separate thing. BTW, I spent a night in an American tent in the Dry valleys that covered the well head of a test drill pipe searching for ....................... ( I'll let you speculate as to what they might drill for down there, bur it wasn't for water )
  17. IMO the US doesn't have democracy for it to fail. For that matter I don't think any western country has democracy. It's just a sham imposed by the rulers to make people imagine that they get a say in how the country is run, IMO.
  18. I like having the king of England as monarch. Means we don't have to pay for another useless politician. It's not like he interferes in the country.
  19. Anyone that thinks the US is getting along fine must be one of the 3 monkeys- the blind one.
  20. I had noticed that, and often include the tax thing in my climate change posts. It's stupid to say "saving the planet" as humans are destroying it and if they wanted to save the planet they'd be for enforced population reduction. The planet will be fine without any humans on it. They should say "saving humans from extinction".
  21. Slight problem with that. Modern youth are often too fat to be in the military. Better to have a separate organisation that concentrates on separating them from the blubber before they are put into the military, or perhaps not be in the military at all. Discipline and fitness are not the sole preserve of the military, and I'm not in favour of many of the youths I see being given weapons training.
