Despite my opinion on dole bludgers, I am a socialist and I believe that government should serve the people, and not the people serving the government and rich people. I think that everyone ( except criminals ) deserves to have a decent life, provided they contribute as much as they can. Having a decent place to live does not mean a mansion- a state house is enough, and they should be able to eat enough and access health care. If society can't provide that, far as I'm concerned it's a rotten society.

You seem unaware that the US is supposedly a capitalist country. If you want it to be a socialist country that would require a change of government policy.

Of course it's been a politically exploited rise of not much at all, and the usual suspects are benefiting financially, so some of us understand what it's really about. If it was as serious as it is claimed to be, we'd be in a state of emergency, with governments shutting down industry all over the place, but they seem strangely quiet about it, and when certain ex presidents buy waterfront property to retire on one can only assume that they know that it's not going to be under water shortly. IMO Shakespeare might have been thinking about MMCC when he wrote "Much ado about nothing". PS. I've noticed that the talking heads on tv never mention MMCC now- it's just Climate Change. I guess they realised that not many people believe it. Just C C is much more vague to foment fear over.

LOL. There is no such thing as indisputable scientific evidence, and science is not fixed, and that's before realising that science as it is now doesn't know much at all. Just because sensible studies are "discouraged", does not mean that stupid studies are true. BTW, I very much doubt that you read every one of those thousand scientific studies, and there are probably thousands proving there is no MMCC which you didn't read.

We certainly seem to be at the tipping point of humanity going woke ( or at least western society ) which will inexorably lead to the end of western civilization, IMO. No one is saying to deny the right to pretend that one is a different gender than born with. The problem arises when greedy Drs and big pharma collude to physically alter a child. I agree with that, but if one knows what the place is like one knows that there will never be enough tourists going there to actually do any damage. Unlike the governments which have thousands of people and massive bases there. Like I said it's just BS. Nitpick those that can't do any damage, while ignoring the government operations that do.

It's all BS anyway. Antarctica doesn't belong to any country. They just have areas they laid claim to, but if anyone wanted to go down there as long as they avoided inhabited areas, there is no way to stop them. However if they lived in a treaty country and bragged about it on social media, they might get a visit once back in home country. There is no Antarctic police force, no navy patrolling the coasts etc. The main thing preventing people going there is that it's just too difficult to get there and live to return. Far as I'm concerned the Antarctic Treaty mob are just uber self important woke idiots that couldn't get a proper job. No way I'd ever take them seriously. Problem is the politicians that make the "rules" only get to do a couple of days on a carefully controlled jolly, and have zero idea of the reality. If they actually wanted to "save" the Antarctic, they would ban all bases down there. The amount of pollution that McMurdo station creates is immense, with all the planes and ships that go there to support it, and does anyone think they stick all the sewage from a thousand people in a barrel and return it to the US?

Yes and they go to only a very very few places and then only under the most stringent environmental control. They might sleep on the ice in a tent for a night, but that would be the extent of it. No way they just go wandering around by themselves. When I was working there, every scientific party going into the field had a mountaineer minder along to make sure they didn't die.
