  1. "an additional 50 TB for change of address", what's that all about and where, please?

If you look at my post #2 in this topic with the photos there is a list of charges. In this case 'Driving license amendment' 50Baht. Also in my post #1 of my experience I show the 50 Baht as I changed my address from the previous license.

  3. my driver's license expires 6 April.

How long before this date can I get it renewed? I don't want to wait until last days in case something turns up and I am not here. I am 72. Is there an age limit?

Thank you in advance for replies.

The last I saw was up to 45 days in advance. No age limit.

  4. I thought the minimum salary for a foreigner was 50k. Can someone enlighten me on the facts? Thanks.

There is no minimum salary for a work permit, it's immigration that has put that requirement in place for extension of permission of stay. Also, there is no minimum if teacher or academic though the op mentions 'company'.

  5. Thanks you so much Tywais

    how about social security?

    thanks again in advance

Employees and employers are required to contribute to a Social Security Fund (‘SSF’) being 5% of salary up to a maximum of 750 Baht per month.

Believe employers are required to match the contributions of the employee. There may have been some changes from last year.

  6. 3 days is the norm, same as a house blessing.

Isn't there a law against this?

I respect their grieves but they should also respect other people in my opinion.

They have a big party tent overthere, but I can not believe that anyone can last longer than 5 minutes at that place without serious hearing damages.

At the previous moo bahn I lived in there was a maw doo (palm reader, witch doctor, whatever) who would set up a similar arrangement every year a couple of weeks after Songkran. Massive speakers, tents, street blocked off, stage with 'dancers', musicians, drums etc. within meters of our bedroom windows. It drove me nuts for 3 days. Later, when I saw the tents and chairs coming in I took off to a hotel as it would be impossible to get my car out once they started. biggrin.png

  7. A friend sent me these directions to the testing facility. They worked, but some directions are easier to follow than others.

    1. Left side of Hang Dong Road about 3 KM south of Airport Plaza.

    2. Located just before Big C, which is at just before the intersection of the first ring-road.
    3. Look for a long white fence with purple iron.
    I've replaced #3 with:
    3. Entrance is 30 meters before a pedestrian overpass.
    YMMV

Or Google Street View. Looking at the entrance.
