In 2005 they called it Huge Hikes in EMS International Fees and due to rising diesel fuel costs. They certainly can't say it is for the same reason with oil at such low prices.
If that was huge, this one has to be called massive.
-
Seems this is all for sending things to other countries ? or did they change the prices inside Thailand too ?
You can check with my rate link above but does seem International. EMS letter 32 Baht in Thailand which is normal. Parcels also seem the same.
-
Those prices are crazy. I used to send a letter via EMS at 600 Baht, now 1400 Baht. Check rates below.

If it is bats, there will also soon be a tell take stench.
Saw this article if they are bats: bat guano
Just a word of caution about droppings. They can carry a fungus known to cause Histoplasmosis. Don't breathe the feces and avoid contact with them.

Me too. They are now dragging there feet on 90 day mail-ins for whatever reason, they never did before. What use to be a one-day turn-around up to three months ago is now one week+. I fully expect to have to go to the Airport to track down my report on my 90 day expiration date, although maybe I'll get lucky. However, you have 7 days after it expires to report without having to pay a $2000 THB late fee.
If they can't find your mail-in at the Airport office, you may have to report in person at The Promenade within 7 days after your expiration date unless they are willing to process you there. Tywais, please correct me if I'm incorrect on this. I don't know what they do if you have your EMS receipt and copies of your paperwork, and they can't find the documents that you sent. Does anyone know?
It took 12 days for the turn around this time for me. Some CM members reporting similar or longer. One member did mention he went to the Airport location with his EMS receipt to find out what happened. They completed the process there for him. Far right desk, same as original 90 day reporting location.

On Thaivisa News from June. There is only one post by a member saying he was informed 2kg or more. I have not found a formal source stating this. - Parcel senders are required to show ID cards or passports

I am getting a little worried. I mailed my 90 to immigration last Friday and they received it Monday of this week and still nothing in the mail today Saturday. With 2 holidays next week again worried. It seems the turn around time for 90 days is now getting longer and longer. The 90 reporting is our last bastion of hope and it now seems to becoming strained.Thursday the 31st of December and Friday the 1st of January. Or are you referring to 2016?
Just checked my mail today, forgot to check Saturday, and my receipt was there with envelope stamped December 25th. So sent Dec 14th and back at home on December 26th. Don't give up hope elgordo, for some reason the last several reports have shown a considerable slow down on returning receipts in CM.

If you have your EMS receipt, it's no big deal and certainly nothing to worry about. My mail-in reports usually take around 3 weeks.
Three weeks seems like a long time to me. If you are using standard postal service for the return I can understand that though.
Sent mine by EMS and got the receipt for it the next day after they received it. I put stamps totaling 40 baht on the return envelope so it would come back to me by EMS.
I have the same problem as elgordo38. Sent EMS on Monday the 14th, tracking shows arrived Tuesday AM the 15th and EMS receipt on line shows picked up. Still haven't received the receipt. I've done it 5 times the same way and it has been exactly 4 days from day posted to arrival at my house. Today is the expiration date so have 6 more days before I need to go in person to check. Of course with the NY holidays, it would mean this Wednesday at the latest.

Thursday the 31st of December and Friday the 1st of January. Or are you referring to 2016?
No, I am referring to next week. I was told the Social security offices are closed (must pay a bill) on Wed. Dec. 30 and opening again on Tues. Jan. the 5th. So I thought they might be the same I am glad to hear differently, so I guess monday the 4th will be the first day open again?
Odd about the SS office but the only national holiday is Thursday & Friday, for Monday the 4th it is business as usual.
Rain
in Chiang Mai
Posted
Just starting up in Mae Hia. Thought there was supposed to be a 6-10 degree temperature drop but I had to turn the air on today.
The high pressure over the Northeast of Thailand will cover the upper country today. The weather conditions can be varied with thundershowers and strong wind following with sharp cold spell expected by decreasing temperature 6-10 degree Celsius. The weather forecast for regions during 24-25 January is as following: North: Minimum temperature 8-14 degree Celsius with isolated frost in mountaintops.
Northeast: Minimum temperature 8-15 degree Celsius. Central and East: Minimum temperature 14-18 degree Celsius. Bangkok Metropolis and Vicinity: Minimum temperature 16-18 degree Celsius. During 26-27 January, the westerly trough from Myanmar will cover the North and the Northeast of Thailand affecting outbreaks of persistent cold spell.
All people should keep warm and healthy due to the severe changeable weather. The northeast monsoon across the South and the Gulf of Thailand will intensify with much more rain, as well as isolated heavy thundershowers. The wind waves in the Gulf are expected 2-4 meters high. All people should beware of high inshore surf. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore during 24-27 January.
