I tried today 06/11/2019 10:29 and it worked. (90 days due on 16/11/2019)

I tried yesterday, it didn't work. But, I put a dummy "TM6" number as I didn't have it with me.

So, it works. But, it is a hit and miss. NOT Stable.

Now status is Pending (Time 10:45). I will update here later how long it took to get the approval status.

    it was approved at 12:55pm.

So from 10:29 to 12:55, it is roughly 2 hour 30 mins. Few months before it was 2 hours. So you get the idea!

This is the email that you get. And, you can go online to verify the approval directly and also to print the notification slip. Only Internet Explorer is stable. (Chrome works, but pdf etc. not work).

    url: https://extranet.immigration.go.th/fn90online/online/tm47/TM47Action.do

type in the Ref. Number... it will show STATUS from PENDING to APPROVED. and you can print the pdf from "view" screen. (use IE)

  2. Hi, I need wall hangers (at least 5 hooks.. with minimum dimension 47cm width (end to end).. (11cm space in between 2 hooks)

This model I got from Tesco years earlier... but I can't find similar or better model now... so far I have checked in Home Pro Rama 3, Tesco and Big C.. in the past few days.

Home Pro had a stainless steel one.. but it was smaller like 40cm only... and was with big height.

Tesco had only plastic.. with really big hooks and ugly. (no stainless)

    --

Can anyone help me where I can find with my required spec... >=47cm width... (with at least 5 hooks... and 11cm gap between 2 hooks).

Please see attachment for the actual image of the hook type wall hanger.

    Thank you.

  3. Thank you for all your replies.

I have checked with a known travel service company... and they confirmed.. Kids under 14 years old (< 14 years) can overstay without any issues.

And, I have also checked with 2 of my friends.. and they confirmed that their kids did not extend visa.

It may be <15 years no extension required... as others have posted.

    --

For people wondering why.. we allow our kids to overstay... the reasons are:

    no renewal cost

    no hassle

    no worry

while it is legally (or even borderline legally) allowed without any problems... why take the extra step (of renewal, etc.) when you in fact do not need to.

  4. Hi, My kids are age 1, 3 and 9.

They have entered Thailand on "visa on arrival" for 1 month stay.

I have been told through various friends that children under 12 (or some others say under 16) can overstay without any problems. In fact, my kids overstayed.. sometime last year.. without any issues too.

I have work permit. My wife has Non-O.. extended same as visa. We are NON-THAI.

What is the latest info on kids overstaying.. after the recent changes with immigration... crackdown of overstayers.. arrests, etc.

    Please advise.

  6. Hello

My car was bought second hand in Feb 2008 (almost 6 years ago)

It is Vios S (top model) 2005 Year (9 years old) and currently ran 212,759Km.

I give it for regular maintenance with Toyota Service every 5,000Km to 10,000Km.

I don't really like to go for fancy cars or wanting to get any new ones... always wanting not to waste resources if it is doing its job well.

My car does it well... at least I think it does.

    --

My question is.. Should I be worried about safety as the car is already nearing 10 years?

Or it doesn't matter at all as long as I am doing regular service.

Please let me know as I don't want to get a new car if I don't have to.

What is the typical life for a car?

I don't know anything about Car Maintenance.. All I know is how to drive.

My daily commute is 80km (everyday to and back in Express Way).. and I do a total of about 2000km / month.... and I live in the City.

Your input on this will be helpful.

  7. You can use Amorn.. http://www.amorngroup.com/en/branch.php (all branches with photo are listed here)

Main branch... near Yaowarat China Town... the building name is "Old Siam Plaza".. i believe it is on the 2/F (or 3/F).

They can repair all sorts of electrical applicances... and they even have spare parts for many of the equipments.

    --

The mini Amorn shop is located in Tesco Rama 4... 2/F... it is near the escalator a big red signage that says Amorn.

Here you can give it for repair as well.... and anything that cannot be repaired here... will be sent to the main branch by themselves.

You can collect it from here when ready.

    ---

I have repaired Fans and some DVD palyers from here.

  8. Hi.. it worked great...

From the plane arrived at gate.. to get visa for nephew in "visa on arrival"... to queue up at immigration (all together in the normal exit route)...

took them 30 minutes in all. (arriva at gate... get visa... and queue up in immigration)

They were allowed to exit together... in the normal immigration channel... after obtaining visa.

    Thanks all for ur comments.

  9. Hi,

A 11 year old nephew of mine is coming to BKK to visit us and eligible for Visa On Arrival for the passport he is holding.

He is traveling with a known family of ours (5 passengers)... who all have Tourist Visas already obtained from origin.

    --

My question is how can they exit immigration together in Suvarnabhumi Airport... without separating.

Is this possible.. that all of them can go to Visa On Arrival... and get the visa paid for him only... and exit through the same immigration counter?

What is the typical processing time? Arrival about 8pm tomorrow 18Apr.

    Please let me know.

  10. I copied below text from previous posting... as I want to know the same information.. NO ANSWER from anyone.

Please help with more information.. Thanks.

    http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/223212-tax-deduction-for-investments/

Two tax deductions in Thailand are the Retirement Mutual Fund (RMF) and the Long Term Equity Fund (LMF). I believe each has a maximum contribution of 500,000 baht per year.

A friend of mine wants to get a 50,000 baht reduction in her taxable income. She could invest in one of these two funds. Does anyone know a very conservative LMF? Even if the return was 0%, the tax deduction is enough of a benefit and the investment could be sold in 5 years.

The LMF's that I saw invest in some form of equity, which currently is very volatile. She doesn't want to lose any money which would defeat the purpose of the tax deduction. I know there are money market funds that pay a very low-interest, but I don't believe they are considered as LMF.

    Thanks

  11. http://www.goldencrownhk.com/hotels_hong_kong/roomprice

Just HKD320 - HKD450 per night.. Very good place from my experience.

But the website.. usually cannot book... You can call them OR ask some local friends in hong kong to make the booking.

This is NOT a hotel.. It is just a guest house... that is Private Rooms with Bathroom inside a Big Apartment.

    --

There are several other like this in near by buildings... good value for money.

    This one I highly recommend.

  12. I forgot to add do not include anything other than books in the package. Goods are taxed at the rate of the highest tax item in the package so if you have say a tshirt you will be taxed at that rate plus gst. ( clothes are one of the highest rates) Something to remember if you use freight forwarders to consolidate packages.

Only Books... 10 of them... and it should come from Thailand Post... (standard shipping).

What should I do.. for precaution.. if in case they ask to pay for Tax... and how can I excuse out of it.

It is all new and shipped by Amazon itself.

    Please advise.

And, yes I have experience paying tax shipped for 2 Jeans.. from ebay. (17jan2008) received in 4 days thru dhl.

    2 Jeans @USD29.99 each + Shipping USD29 = Total USD88.98
Paid Duty for THB 2099 (USD62.12). It is absurd. It was shipped thru DHL.. and since then I never ship anything here... Now this time books.
  13. Hi, I have ordered 10 Computer Books (php, javascript, etc.) worth THB10,250 + Standard Shipping THB1,850 = THB12,100. Shipped to my Condo Address.

    Will these books be taxed?

    If no, all is good.

If yes, roughly how much will be the tax amount? How can the tax be avoided?

I have already made the order.. and pending shipping by Amazon.

    --

Please post your experiences. I am using Standard Shipping to a Bangkok Condo Address.

    Thank you.

  14. Please read this posting here... (yes click the link) which explains the usual problems with Electric Shock.

Don't trust the plug... pull it out to see if it got 3 pins.. Even it got 3 pins... it doesn't mean in the wall... the earth is really connected to ground... may be the earth slot in wall is just a dummy hole.

And, for the ones of the schuko type you need to buy an adapter.. available from homepro.. for thb90.

    and this... VERY USEFUL INFORMATION

  15. Hi we went yesterday... 15Apr2013... and here are the ticker prices... hope it is useful for someone.

Adult with most rides... THB460. (exclude snow town, go-kart) include 4D adventure, Alien.

Adult without rides... THB150 (but user can buy tickets inside for each of the rides they want to go... THB40, THB70, THB100 depends on the rides or activity)

Child over 90cm to 140cm are same price as adult.

    Chile under 90cm is free.

Animal Show is FREE to see.

Snow Town is THB150 extra separate.

Go-Kart.. is THB100 or 150 extra.. can't remember the exact price.

I think above prices are for Local residents... but am not sure.. if foreigners are the same. I had to show my thai driving license.

    --

However, I saw this site. http://www.hotels2thailand.com/bangkok-day-trips/Bangkok-Dream-World.asp

There the prices are even cheaper.. THB381 only of what I have paid at the entrance... (THB460).

    Entrance Fee with Rides+4D Adventure
    Refundable
    Price for child (90-140 cms.)
    THB 339
    Refundable
    Price for adult
    THB 381

I haven't bought the ticker here... but just for your info... I think you could try this.. and end up paying cheaper than you go buy directly. This is for foreigners and everyone.

Please share your experience with the above site. They have other price options with transportation, including snow town, etc.

But, in the site... it seems you can't buy a ticket excluding the rides... which is only THB150 at the entrance... so I think that's where they make up for the loss. :-)

So, you could get the ticket here with rides... and if you don't want rides... just go directly to dreamworld.
