  1. No license is a 500 baht fine and that's it. No need to bribe, no deportation, no vehicle confiscation.Just for your information, if it happens again.

Just got unlucky this time round.

The max fine for not having your license on you is 2000 baht

  2. How hard is it to sell when I'm done?

There's a second hand cbr150 on here for 32k baht. You could probably get it for 30k baht and almost certainly in better condition than rental bikes.

You could ride it for 6 months and sell it in one day for 20k baht, which is a 10k baht loss (about 55 baht a day loss over the 6 months). Or you could wait a week or two and take a much smaller loss on it, maybe even get all your money back.

But again, it depends how long you need it for. Renting for 6 months or more is a mugs game.

Probably not even a loss if you take into account how much the OP would pay to rent one

  3. im not gonna sit here and fire off items but this one item will prove my point

4pints milk uk 1.29 so about 65 baht, thailand 78- 82 baht, ,how can thailand charge more when they pay around a salary of 200 compared to uk paying aroound 800-1000 gbp

    rest my case

probably because cows milk isn't drunk in Thailand, I don't see fields full of cows in Thailand but plenty in the uk. Rubbish comparison. How about a 3 bed house in a London suburb v a 3 bed house in a Bangkok suburb. By the time you take the cost of the uk mortgage a pint of milk will be the least of your worries.

No1 Of course cows milk is drunk in Thailand the ships are full if the stuff

No2 Compare the wages in London compared to Bangkok you will get a lot more

    No3 Mooo

  4. Did you also register them as British citizens for that price? I haven't done it yet but i remember looking when my kids were born and they had 3 prices, 1 for register as British, 1 for get uk birth certificate and 1 for price of passport.

Does just getting them a passport make kids citizens or do you have to register them as citizens also?

the cost was 3,749 - first time Passport for child then two DHL charges ont BKK- HK at 666 and then UK-BKK at 485 so total was 4,900 THB I didn't do any other documents, and the passport came back np - I don't need a BC for them from UK nor did I in order to get them the passport so didn't ask for that,.....

Nice, so do you know what status that gives them in the uk?

  5. Hot and humid environmental conditions, typical to Thailand, stress the lactating dairy cow and reduce intake of the nutrients necessary to support milk yield and body maintenance. Dairy cows are most productive at temperatures between 41 and 77° F. That's why most if not all dairy products are imported in Thailand.

if there was a ban for posting stupid comments that would get a lenghty one, to think that thailand imports milk is just ridiculaous

  6. If your gonna be looking for work then try and apply fora NON-B straight off the bat as that's the only visa you can work on, not sure if they will give you one based on just looking for work but its your best option, you cannot work on tourist visas so at best if you find a job then you will have to get a NON B once you are here and most of the embassy's in the bordering countries will only give you 3 months, so for the sake of hassle speak withe the embassy there and see what your chances are, if they give you one then you will be able to squeeze 15 months out of it

  7. not really an apple fanboy, but the fact s ipad is better, i had a android 10.1 before i got a ipad and ended up giving it away, why? because even my 2 yr old son wouldnt play with it, if he cant play on the ipad then he wont even entertain the android, and all he really does is watch mickey mouse on youtube, what does that say to you?

That ipads are for 2 yr olds and the like?

Sent from my GT-I8190 using Tapatalk 2

its my Ipad but rightly or wrongly on my part i do let him go on when im not using it, i really did try to palm the 10.1 on him as i didnt want my newish i3 getting smashed but he wouldnt entertain it infact one day he stood on it so he could get on the bed to get the ipad.

slightly off topic but ipads are a great learni ng tool for kids

Thailand isn't exactly known for it's massive dairy herd population, and lush green fields of grass for them to graze on...

You could just as easily complain about the cost of fruit juice in the UK.

And schools are only cheaper if you're talking sending your kids to state school in the UK, compared with sending them to private school in Thailand.

Could of fooled me, everytime i go out of BKK all i see is lush green fields, what you saying, that thailand has to import milk or they need to charge more becuase there is only limited grass for the cows to eat?

Schools in UK = pay nothing, same school in thailand = pay per term, pay for books, pay for meals both goverment

  10. Thailand in general has become more expensive, when i first came 8 yrs ago u could get a small bottle singha for 19 baht in 7-11 and the pound was 70-72, the only thing stayed pretty much the same is rent.

Not that I know shit about it but they need to bring cost down or up wages, the minimum wage is 300 per day and a lot of company from ranging from factory's to hospitals pay there staff that wage, so basically a Big Mac is 1/3rd days wages ad a loaf of bread is 10% of a days wages, the minimum in England is about 6.50 per hr so that's about 50 a day and if u went the same scale of Thailand that would but a Big Mac at 18 quid and a loaf of bread at a fiver when they are about 1 pound for a big ma and 40p for a loaf of bread

  11. I think the best place for Yamaha servicing is now the Mityon garage on Thepprasit Road. It's on the left going towards Sukhumvit about 800 yards before Suk. It is rarely busy and they seem to know what they are doing.

I agree. If you are coming from the beach end of Thep Phrasit, go past Soi Kopai, a very busy uncontrolled intersection that leads across the road to Thep soi 7 on the opposite side (where there is yet another Mityon Honda shop).

Go past Kopai/Thep 7. The small Mityon Yamaha repair shop is on the left side of Thep about 200 metres before the PTT station. First you will pass a Honda retailer, then Yamaha dealer (yes, all Mityon). Attached to the Yamaha dealer is a small four-bay repair shop. The boss is a young guy with glasses and long hair. He's a pretty cool guy and speaks English OK.

    Nice one appreciate the help
