    I predicted he would be out of prison and at home on a house arrest before the end of the month. Dayam, he's even quicker than I imagined, If you don't think this was all planned well in advance of him coming back, I have a super yielding rice farm for sale in Issan.

    Exactly. This was planned well in advance, and I heard somewhere, that he owns this hospital. Anyone?

    You would have to be the abbot to get in the donation box, plus, I don't know of any temples who would have any large amount of money in their donation boxes. It's normally emptied every evening by a trusted parishioner.

    Most all monks wear those neon orange robes, as seen in this picture. No way in hell he could have thought this guy was a thief. Something else going on.

    Exactly. Most monks I know have maybe a 100 baht or so on their person, and even the abbot of a temple I know doesn't have more than 30,000 or so in the Temple bank account.

    For a 78 year old Thai monk to have 800,000 baht in his pocket, seems to me to be a little suspicious.

    And here in Texas where I live, that can cost you anywhere from $2500 to $4000 a month.

    I really don't remember reading about Buddha doing this stuff.

    Take it to a busy temple, ask the abbot there.. there's always a monk at these temples who is a sort of expert on amulets.

    Thai politics. No one understands it, not even Thai's. They make up the rules as they go along.

    I've said all along, it was going to be him that's elected PM.

    If he had just taken his vows when he was caught, then he hadn't even started his monastic training yet. It appears to me he was just trying to escape being caught. Become a monk, hide out, sell a few pills to the local teenagers, hey, nice life. Maybe squeeze in a girlfriend once in awhile. Boom, living the dream.
