    Pretty sure I was in the same hotel and felt that sway. I had got lucky, myself and a friend was in Bangkok and undecided whether to go to Phuket or Pattaya for a couple of days. We picked Pattaya for the golfing. Whoa..

    I find it totally amazing how good those doctors are at the Police Hospital.. they take a man who's dying and bring him back to the peak of life. They probably deserve Nobel prizes for this miraculous event.

    Becoming a monk for a week or 2 to make merit for your dead grandfather should be looked at. About half the problems brought into a temple are from these quick in and out monks. They virtually don't learn anything about how to be a monk or the Buddhist religion.

    I think there are a lot of the Buddha's teaching's that are always going to be confusion for us. Since the Buddha didn't speak English and it was a hundred years or so after he died before anyone thought to write down these teachings, I'm sure a lot of them were misconstrued. Same as the teachings of Jesus.

    I've been to the Thai section of LA many times. And visited the big Thai Buddhist temple there, Wat Thai LA. This is a strange lot, they show their Thainess in almost every aspect, to Farangs, but underneath that Thai veneer is a whole different creature. I have yet to figure them out.
