  1. Hookers demand payment, don't they? Any evidence, any statement anywhere, that these victims were paid for sexual services? You clearly are not aware that what you describe is hardly unusual these days, and perhaps never was. We just didn't hear about it through social media. But of course, you are entitled to your humble opinion.
  2. There's a massive money making opportunity here. Sell those headphones which allow you to hear the music but no-one else can. I've long thought it was funny to imagine dancers flapping around in silence, and now it's become a reality. Apparently it's popular on cruise ships with an atrium. Doesn't disturb those in inside cabins.
  3. They have the one-entry rule to thank you for supporting a Thai wife and to make you feel welcome. In contrast, my Thai sister-in-law has gone to live in Hungary with her Dutch husband (dumping her kid on others (us) to raise as is the Thai tradition) and they both received a five-year visa. Your sentence for daring to marry a Thai is to spend a boring night in Savannakhet. As compensation, you can enjoy a few bottles of Beer Lao at a fraction of what you'd pay in Thailand.
  4. That is your opinion and, if you are in Thailand, could include yourself. If it doesn't, how is that you judge others to be inferior to your ignorant self? If you are not in Thailand, how are you aware of the demographics of expats who are here?
  5. A friend of mine runs a very successful website about Thailand, and refuses to allow any comments. His only feedback is via emails, some of which he publishes. It's very clear why, isn't it. I have a very low threshold for idiots, and sadly this site appears to attract many. The number I've blocked has reached double figures, i think. Before social media we had no idea such people were out there, but now they've been exposed and there are so many that it's quite scary.
  6. So in fact the article could say that, but didn't. Misleading article with half-truths. Which is poor journalism.
  7. They do? Could have fooled me, unless the purpose has been to control the impressionable.
  8. Probably, but I'm not sure about that. I used a manage an HMV record store in the UK and quite often tax on records would be increased in the budget. I had to charge the new price from the next day as tax was paid on sales, but try explaining that to pi**ed off customers who thought we taking advantage by charging more on old stock.
  9. Kind of undermines your faith in other content in the article, doesn't it. 1 - the 2-5 ban hasn't been there for five decades, but since when Mr (not Miss) Thaksin was PM. 2 - it hasn't been lifted anyway. Why is it that people these days can get published without checking facts and knowing what they are writing about? Dumber and dumber.
  10. Have you been there? Or do you write from ignorance?
  11. She called her husband Bank and when he arrived he shook the toddler to revive him and then said he died after choking on the sticky rice. As they were too scared to call a doctor, Bank wrapped the boy in his blanket, put him in a cloth bag then placed him in the fridge. More adults with the minds of children.
  12. More tourists who can return home and regale and warn their friends and family about their trip to Amazing Thailand.
  13. With so little to print over the year look around for a place that does photocopying and printing. Each page will cost a few baht. Less convenient than having your own printer but that would save you 9000+ baht of your budget.
  14. And then there were none. Joined up thinking absent yet again, as in 'if I kill her there'll be no income so maybe I should put the knife down, otherwise I'll have to leech off someone else'.
  15. Does this mean they don't know the name of the condo yet?
  16. How many were arrested? Were their cars impounded? As usual, the appalling reporting here tells us nothing, apart of pointlessly saying how many were caught in each province. That is completely irrelevant.
  17. We read very often of teachers assaulting students. We never, never, ever read of the teacher being punished to any extent, if at all. Teachers hitting students is part of the culture. As, come to it, is the kid's grandfather apparently raising the kid as no parent is mentioned.
  18. The journalist - and I use the term loosely - combined two stories into one article. The woman trapped in the lift was not the same one who fell. Different woman, different location, different time, different social media user. The lead article says A Facebook user named NAKON45, also known as Anyawut Po-ampai In related news, a TikTok video shared by user @dreamiiqueen has gone viral, depicting a terrifying ordeal of being trapped alone in a lift that continuously ascends and descends. The only 'relation' to the headline story is that it involved a woman and a lift. I can only assume The Thaiger pays peanuts and gets...... This writer is not the only one they employ who wouldn't last out the week at a proper news organisation.
  19. It's progress for the banks, not us, as they won't have to compensate for fraudulent transactions. In the new world, things take 10 times longer than they used to and they call it progress. I call it regression. I still use cash for regular transactions. Works every time, it's quick, you don't need an app or phone or internet connection which might go down and there is zero chance of fraud. But you know, progress says .....
  20. Nonsense. She was in Malaysia and paid the full Malaysian price. Where did read that she didn't? Should vehicles with a non-Malaysian registration pay a different price? And as another has said, maybe she was on her way home and needed to fill up. Seems that Malaysia has its racists too. Malaysian fuel for Malaysians!
  21. And then there was Harvey Weinstein......
  22. I've read more than one account of him doing it, but I, and you, have no way of knowing if it's true or not.
  23. That was a totally different story, something that The Thaiger likes to tag on to the end of a report if it is remotely connected to the main story. A unique thing to do in my experience, and one that can lead to (your) confusion. Read it again and you'll see In related news...
