This poor excuse of a human being has always been a "wannabe thug".

Well pointed out "Jacky54"...good math.
"...and nine are believed to be in Germany illegally..."
Come on...Germany is a modern country with computers that can quickly be searched. They should know rather quickly if these 9 are in the country illegally or not. Why do they always hedge on these things?

I just read this article to my wife of 6 years.
She told me many Thai people think to do this so the person is dead and not left alive with severe injuries, because the one time cost for a dead person is cheaper than medical costs for a live person with injuries. This, of course, is what she believes and it is somewhat consistent with how auto insurance is written in this country. I also find the mentality of SOME people in Thailand makes this easy to believe.
It was either that or he was just trying to do the typical runner in his car not caring at all that he was driving over a person.

When are they going to arrest the police who caused the deaths of those two boys that started the riot? I know, NEVER!

"...The Ministry of Education is pushing for education reform..."
How many times have we heard this and all they have really done is reduce the number of hours students spend in school...a step backwards.
-
"...ordered thorough checks of all its CCTV cameras in Bangkok and CCTV poles..."
Are they also going to replace all the LOW resolution cameras with HIGH resolution cameras that are actually useful to investigators?

Just another night on Walking Street and another day in Pattaya.

Khao Soi Dao national park officials said that the park would pay compensation to the relatives of the dead victim.
How about medical expenses for the LIVE two year old victim?

“He was charged with threatening someone with a gun,”
What's the guess here? Maybe a 500 baht fine. That should teach don't you think?

First off, I am sorry this happened to her, but...
"...Dalia Hilmi, the Lifestyle Editor at The Phuket News..."
So she presumably lives here and yet still drives around with a tempting bag easy to grab and with that much in valuables in it. She either hasn't lived here long or she doesn't pay attention to the news in her own paper.

“...I would like to ask where the money will come from to subsidise (rubber price,..”
Cancel the purchase of all your military toys.

I wonder what, "...fellow Finnish national Otto Pertterli Finikaeheimonen..." was doing while she was being robbed and slashed.

I don't think it takes a brain surgeon to figure out some Islamic extremists have infiltrated the EU during this refugee crisis.

Well that tears it, this guy is certifiable.
Go get the white coat now and put it on him.
-
My two cents says, not likely or it will be painful getting there if it ever succeeds.

Here we go again.
When will the leaders in this government learn? Never, I suppose.

Keep the peace? Oh, thank goodness, I thought they wanted to bomb the US. I feel so much better now.
Respect?
I wonder if the NK people would agree with how their country is being run.

Less talk...more action.

...and how much water are these wells producing for how many people or crops?
Come on reporter...report!

The quicker it is finished, the quicker it can be voted on, the quicker it will fail and the quicker we can hear what the PM's backup plan is.

This doesn't need to be explained. It is self-evident; every country needs future strategies or plans just as businesses do.
What needs to be explained is why Thailand has almost no good strategies in place.
Nothing significant has been done for future flooding or droughts.
Nothing seems to be being resolved in the South.
No good explanations as to why the military needs all their new toys.
No real headway is being made on a draft charter that most Thai people can get behind.
No reconciliation which was promised at the beginning of the coup.
No justice or improvements in the police force given the Koh Tao murder trail results and the gang of five police who disappeared the human rights activist.
No reduction in traffic accidents or fatalities with any new strategies...just business as usual.

200K...a drop in the bucket, but I'm sure the rubber farmer's would have appreciated it.

Welcome to the land of safety first and tourists baht last....NOT!

Ah, but they have tons of money for military toys.
