They should remove "Khun" Charee as well and he should be sued for negligence along with the beach management. The Phuket authorities should prohibit all monkeys from roaming free in tourist areas without suitable security and protections for tourists.
They should at least have large, clearly seen signs in several languages that warn all tourists. At a minimum, the signs should be in English, Chinese and Russian as that encompasses the largest groups of tourists to visit Thailand. Oh yes, the signs should be proofread by native speakers of each language.

Will Thai authorities ever figure out what they really need to do to reduce traffic deaths / accidents?
My suspicion is they will take a few more decades to wake up to what they really have to do.
Until they introduce roving vehicle patrols that pull people over for all violations and dispense with these stupid, lazy check-points and start instituting much larger fines, then people will have no incentive to change their driving habits.

"...No details were given about the reason for the board’s dismissal..."
Without details or transparency what is anyone to make of this. Maybe it's a good thing or maybe it was just more purging of red shirts. Who knows?
-
"...he said that the health promotion committee would see to it how the programme could be improved..."
You can't have improvement when organizations like this "State Council" are making rulings that hospitals cannot use their budgets to pay for utilities.

"Don't say just yet that there is corruption or irregularities in the Rajabhakti Park project," Udomdej said.
Well guys, there is a very simple way to clear this issue up.
Full transparency and full disclosure!

TAT: "Come to Thailand where safety is no consideration".
R.I.P Ms Thietau
If the map is correct then they were in open water.
Did the tour operator have any safety measures in place so boats would know people were in the water -- like a diver flag?
Was the speed boat violating any laws/rules by being too close to the tourist boat?
Come on reporter .............. report!

Yeah, not buying it.

"...saying things would only improve when Tehran acted like a normal country..."
555...the pot calling the kettle black. This is going to be interesting.
Let the games begin!

First thing that comes to my mind is the Bangkok camera system fiasco which was hugely over-priced and now a significant percentage of them do not work. And we all know where the extra money goes when purchases are inflated.

Why do you always to be negative in your posting? If you hate everything about Thailand what are you doing here?Wont be long and they will be used to monitor people trying to escape Thai borders. Deja Vu Nth Korea.
Boring...zzzz

The militarization of Thailand. What a colossal waste of time and the people's tax money.
-
Let's keep our eye on these new members. They didn't have to make this announcement.
They might be the real deal...judgement pending...

Given a certain number of deaths there will certainly be accidental deaths, suicides and natural death's, but NOT ALL of them and yet they all seem to lead to a quick simple solution that requires no in depth investigating.
What did he slip on?
What type of wound was on this head?
What did he hit his head on?
Was the wound consistent with where he hit his head.
Come on reporter...report!

Let them all wipe themselves off the face of this earth with a holy war against each other.
Maybe they will forget about the West for a while.
-
“...People are fed-up with the Saudis for killing our fellow countrymen..."
Now you know what it feels like.
-
What an opportunity for the CIA or any other western intelligence service.
Covertly agitate the tensions between these two power houses and let them wipe each other out.

"...Hence the case was taken to the State Council..." By who? The junta?
Providing assistance for malpractice suits is very questionable, but not paying for utilities.
Didn't Mr. P just assure us he wasn't going to change anything with the universal health care system. Something stinks here.
Sounds like someone is trying to mess with the health care system by doing an end run through the "State Council" whoever they are.
-
"...says it has no plans to release its investigation results to the public. Nor will it submit the results to the Office of the Auditor-General (OAG), which is also investigating alleged corruption..."
Can anyone say, "they are hiding something"?
Can anyone say, "cover-up".
-
Haven't they heard. Freedom of "expression" has been essentially outlawed by the junta and 44.

All candidates should be required to undergo a background check. If any criminal records exist, then those candidates should automatically be disqualified. This means records won't have to be disclosed, because voters won't be voting on them.
-
"...if the constitutional draft fails to pass the referendum, the drafters and those overseeing the process should be held responsible..."
They are correct and this referendum will fail because the CDC is writting non-Democratic rules/laws/sections into the Draft.
-
"...visible progress has been negligible..."
You can put a huge amount of the blame for that on the junta. Since they have taken over the country has stagnated and will continue to stagnate until a dynamic Democratic government comes back into power. A government that actually works FOR THE PEOPLE and not for their own selfish needs.
-
The governor is just a lackey for the junta. The junta are a bunch of scared little school boys. This is what scared little school children do.
It's censorship at it's worst. Pretty soon anyone publishing books or literature against the junta is going to start going missing.

"We might have to return the vehicles and seize the driver's licences instead, so they can't go out and drink-drive again," he said."
Right Mr. P. That's sure to stop them.

My feeling is if Pheu Thai wants to stand a chance of getting their man/woman in office they MUST stay away from another Thaksin stand-in. It would be a huge mistake on their part to go that way again.
